This might be the best format of a 40K video ive ever seen. Your voice is perfect for explanation. You keep things straightforward and obviously scripted out the information beforehand. You wouldn't believe the muck we have to wade through to find good strategic 40k content on here.... I am forever a fan now!!!!

Deathwing Knights gained a good buff. Thier Maces are now back to AP -2 and they gained Anti-Vehicle 4+ and Anti-Moster4+ and thier Knight Masters flail also gains the same ability in addition to his sustained hits and Dev Wounds. Now that Dev Wounds now count as Mortal Wounds again, they can take a Terminator Chaplain who grants the unit a 4+ Feel no Pain vs Mortal Wounds and Psychic damage and he grants the unit +1 to wound but....GW also biffed DW Knights Power Swords so that they are also AP -2 and now have damage 2 with an additional attackcompared to the mace. Terminator Captains suddenly dont look too bad for a slow melee unit like DW Knights and he grants them a charg reroll.
Inner CIrcle Companions received similar buffs with Direct abd sweeping attacks n thier two handed words going to AP -2. Direct stillis 4 attacks with lethal hits with a plus 1 to hit against units with a character and units with characters suffer a -1 to hit them.
Thier sweeping profile also gained AP -2 and they buffed thier the sweeping profile so it has 5 attacks and still has sustained hits. They did not increase in points which make taking more tha 1 unit of 6 an interesting choice.
Lastly they changed the Inner Circle detachment special rule calle Vowed Objectives which used to allow them to pick 1 objective that turn and any of your DW infantry will gain +1 to wound any enemies on that objective.
Now it has sbeen split into two options. You can choose to push forward and all objectives that are not currently under your controlbecome Vowed or you you chose the objective you are currently on and gain +1 to wound to defend it. They still have access to Oath of Moment for the reroll hits on a unit your chose in the Command phase plus the Lion indirectly gained a good buff when Dev Wounds became Mortal wounds again that dont spell. he enow has a decent chance to block them..
I beginning to think the Unforgiven Task Fore looks interesting. You have an inctive to tto take more Battleline units. and one of them will gain a +1 OC for that battle round and you can take multiple Ancients with a banner (the detachment also has an enhancement which gives 1 ancient a 6+ Feel no Pain on a 6+ or a 4+ if the unit is battle shocked) in addition to granting the unit +1 OC with the potential of giving each model an OC value of 3.

Some ups and some downs. Really annoying about the bring it down points because GUO's and Skarbrand are exactly 20 wounds. I am thinking that Soul Grinders are quite good now too because they escape the Bring it Down tax and also as an added bonus came down 10 points... Who knows! But I only own 1 at the moment so that question will have to wait ha!
Karnivores seem solid, battleline so can score & benefit from the mission rules and good early trading pieces. They also don't give away too much in BID & hit quite hard.
They're really not bad at all! I know a lot of people swear by them and have great luck with them. Sadly I don't have any chaos knights so I can't jump into that just yet myself, and I've tested those lists before and I think I prefer just raw daemons 😁
Great breakdown mate. The time of the daemon is nigh. Not exactly the same, but I'll be running a similar list though swapping Khorne for Slaanesh, loving the feel of the army in general right now

Very entertaining! I played into Drukhari (with your core + 3 Nurglings and 5 Seekers) ... we ended in a draw, but my biggest problem were the transports ... i couldn't kill them in shooting, so the passengers escaped certain death, and because they ARE battleshocked but DON'T FAIL the battleshock test, they don't get mortals. I think I'll try the tzeentchian approach with two sets of screamers ... I like the mobility so that you don't HAVE to up and down them in order to bring them across the field.
I agree! I just played a game against CSM and the transports where a killer! But outside taking a LoC who is just so overpriced and yet another target for bring it down... Killing transports is really damn hard! Just need to get better at surrounding them in a way with multiple charging units so you can pile into what gets out and kill the contents as well! I also agree with screamers. I tried flamers but screamers seem like the better choice.

Got the fixtures and my first game of 40k in years in a tournament is against....chaos daemons 😅 playing a list very similar to yours into a shalaxi and lots of screening fiends. Nervous!

If you want a 75 point scoring unit, I think Blue Scribes is the first option before any others are considered. Extremely fast lone operative is hugely versatile and very effective in making sure points get held. Mounted is the only thing that holds him back at all.
That and being a character for even more assassinate points annoyingly 😢

Man it makes me really re-consider playing my daemons army in something other than crusade it sounds like a lot of fun! Your channel helped me get the hang of Daemon's really quickly and they've been a blast in crusade.
Do you think they could make changes in a future update so it's something like "Greater daemons act as a shadow of chaos for other units but are not considered to be in the shadow of chaos?" I dunno how to word it but it seems heckin powerful and i worry about a knee jerk reaction.
Well we shall see just how powerful it really is! I've played some test games so far and they didn't actually seem that powerful so more testing is needed! Thank you for the wonderful comment though! Very inspiring for me to hear! 😁

Another great video man, thanks for the content! Just back into Warhammer after 20 years out and into daemons for the first time and amazingly this is incredibly close to the army i've been building. Not sure about plague drones though, is providing re rolls to wound on one selected target for nurgle that good? Or is the utility of them being somewhat tanky and maenuverable too that makes them great?
You are very welcome! 🤗 Welcome back to the hobby! I love the drones. They have great utility, good speed for actions and they can often tank a hit from a few smaller things so you can fly one of them around. Although lately mine keep getting one shot! 😅

Hi Great Video thx for ur daemon work. I find skulltaker good but the bloodmaster is a little bit better in mine opinion. While the unit became +1 to wound and the 6" consolidate, with S6 we can most wounds on 2+/3+ or vehicles on 4+,
That's very fair! I love skulltaker for the precision and cp Regen! I've had him one shot 6 thunder wolf cavalry before! The dev wounds are just so crispy... My big Bois can one shot the tanks and such 😁
Been working on painting up my deamons since the start of 10th. Played necrons throughout leviathan. Have played 2 practice games with deamons in pariah and am having a blast. Super fun army.

@BarnyardWargamingOfficial I failed a 5in. With rerolls let my opponent do sabbatoge in a deployment zone terrain feature for 6 points. Still landed a one point difference win. Fun as hell
I literally made that 5" charge joke, because I failed two of them in one game the other day and got absolutely destroyed because of it! 😅

Wow you have been around the block a couple times! 😜 (Been playing daemons a long time)... I absolutely wish I was but I am Australian! So it would be quite a long and expensive trip for me to make it all the way over to Europe! Though one day in the near future I will make the voyage and visit the other big channels over there. I have already visited PlayOn and Mini wargaming at the beginning of this year! 😁
What is your expert opinion on running Flesh Hounds for secondaries in Pariah Nexus? They're super fast and can go through walls, so you can start 'em on the board. Also, unlike say Flamers, they'd get to take advantage of the new Shadow of Chaos Aura for Skarbrand and the Bloodthirster should you choose to move them around the board with some Realm of Chaos Deep Strike shenanigans. Plus, they'd benefit from The Rendmaster's buff if you wanted to throw them into combat. Given this, I'd be super interested to learn why they don't make your list. I'd also love to know what you think about ol' Horticulous Slimux's viability now with the new Greater Daemon Shadow Auras. Thanks so much for the consistently great content.
Thanks for the super nice comment! Okay so for the snail boi, sadly for 120 points he doesn't give any great buffs anymore with shadow becoming even more prevalent... So I think he is a little overcosted for what he does.
As for flesh hounds. Often you don't care if your scoring units are within shadow for buffs or killing something etc. just not a super important trait I guess. So when you compare them side by side with something like screamers. The screamers are 6,-2,2 in melee. Albeit hitting on 4's but still great! They have mortals flying over things, a 4+ invuln and 3 wounds a pop which is harder to kill than 2 wounds because 2 DMG is a lot more common, plus they move 14! So why ever take hounds when screamers are 5 points more?

The GUO base is 160mm so can't be wholly within 6" for the close deep strike.

i’m new to deamons but really looking forward to getting them on the table after this great video! Can’t figure out how the warp locus bit works now though is it still a keyword thing or am i missing something really obvious (probably am 😂).
They had to make it super complicated of course! But the gist is that the greater daemons also now provide shadow of chaos for their own kind, and the debuff of -1 LD and mortals to all enemies 😁 Easiest way to think about it really. So Nurgle affects Nurgle, Khorne affects Khorne etc.

On the note of either winning or losing big:
First match against WE, turn two 3 critical charges (6 inch each).
First one double one. Reroll to double one.
Second was a total of 3.
Third a total of 5.

Quick Related Question: I also run a Chaos Knights Army. Given the new Nurgling Nerf, what Daemon Allies do you think would be an adequate replacement/addition for helping to score secondaries? Again, thanks for the great content. Hope you break an 80% win-rate over the coming months!
Oooh that would be so awesome! But I need a lot more games and no loses for that to happen I'm sure! 😁 Great question... Honestly I think beasts are good but you have to take them with nurglings of course :/ so at that point just take plaguebearers instead. Blue horrors infiltrate and they cause -1 LD nearby as well to stack with chaos knights debuffs. So I would go with them!

Quick question can you really chain these teleports? So skarbrand to the bloodthirster makes sense but bloodletters to skarbrand? Doesn't that happen all in the same time? Can you use skarbrand as an anchor for the teleport if he and bloodletters appear at the same time?
Of course! Every move is done one at a time like a normal move would right? Place Skarbrand first and then something else after. Same as you could do with a 3" deep strike from Belakor and then landing within his own shadow
I run a similar list but no skull canon, instead I take an additional unit of plague bearers , 2 screamers and a beast of nurgle for the back feild. I do have a question though? I was told the deepstrike units come in at the same time so placing a second unit like bloodletters closer than 9 isn’t eligible just like how I can’t deepstrike a unit skarbrand within 6 of something and say he has shadow, can you explain how you were able to get both the skarbrand and bloodletters down at the same time?
Whoever has told you that is wrong. Units don't deep strike at the same time. They are placed one at a time, otherwise an enemy would overwatch all deepstriking units at once no? They're placed one at a time, and the only thing the new buffs state is that the greater daemons give shadow for deep strike within 6". If they didn't activate instantly then it would say 'at the end of the phase it becomes shadow'. But it only says within 6", so of course you can deep strike string greater daemons of the same god. 😁
What are your thoughts with Lord of Change w/ Everstave with the new rules change?
Honestly, still too expensive 😞 Just a lot of points for something quite easily killed with not a lot of output. And the LoC cannot help other melee units get into combat unlike the other gods.

I think there is room for both in this style of list. If you end up versing a horde, I'm more likely to take fixed because you can kill enough small enemies to give yourself cp with Epidemius! But if it looks a little challenging I tend to play tactical. Depends on the match up! 😁
They really need to buff Be'lakor's damage on his shooting. having 6 attacks on hazardous and only doing 1 damage is ridiculous.
he has 12 attacks for hazardous shooting. unless you were talking about averages
Yep! 12... But really it should be a fair bit better than that. Maybe anti infantry/monster/tank/mounted/character 2+. So it's always straight devs.
@@BigMan-cp4pi You are right, got it mixed up with melle. Either way using hazardous profile for 3 more attacks and 1 more ap its not really worth it for 1 damage. it should be either 3 or D3 dmg for that profile.

If that's what tickles your fancy then absolutely go for it! I don't think that they are as good as screamers if you're looking for some speed... But they can absolutely work!

I think hounds could be a really good choice! But they are similar to the seekers in the sense that they are t4 with a 5+ save and 2 wounds. That profile is just everywhere so killing them on overwatch and such isnt hard at all... and the seekers are even faster AND get a scout move. why not just take screamers for example? So yea I think screamers or flamers are better right now 😁
I played a game yesterday. Failed 2 of my 3 5" charges (letters and crushers) and didn't have CPs to reroll. Lost me the game
Daemons baby. The king of swing! I always save myself a cp for it! Always! Because I know that I will fail my blood letter 5" charge almost every game.
The 150 could be a second unit of Plague drones and a single unit of nurglings. I like the idea of keeping the little buggers around to block scouts and screen
I play tested a big unit of 9 tonight on stream and they worked out very well! I think I might run them again! 😁 More testing to be had! But some good ideas that's for sure!

Think Pink Horrors are viable? My 1000ish point army consists of 60 pink horrors (with blues and brimstones) and some change casters and flux masters…

Sadly no I don't 😕 I have been fooling around with Tzeentch and Slaanesh daemons for a long while recently trying to come up with something playable but they just suck... Smart players always one shot my pink horror units, so maybe if you are very smart and very lucky you can get them to live long enough to kill things but I couldn't master it... 😞
sadly an experienced player wont let pinks split, so in normal 2k games they are not great. At 1k ? There's less to kill them off completly, so you get the benefit of splitting.
At 1k absolutely! They are much better! But yea at 2k they just don't do any damage and then they get one shot 😢
Any advice on those of us who play more Tzeentch/Khorne/Slaanesh?
Well at the moment I am using Khorne and tzeentch in my list. So you're just replacing the Nurgle side? Easy! A keeper and probably some daemonettes for backfield string. Maybe with the infernal for some range DMG and healing?
It seems that Epidemius is no more avalaible in my country. How would you replace it please ?
That is a very tough call... He does so much for the army. I would maybe go with a poxbringer instead to force battleshocks at a further -1 and hope the unit survives... He has some good damage and makes the plaguebearers a lot better with lethals on 5's! Good luck 😁
I think Changeling, Nurglings plus Khorne Enhancement on the Bloodthirster might be nice for the "free" 150 points. What do you think?

With the changes to tank shock, and grenades being a little bit harder to achieve... And also the fact that people will be -1 to their tests a lot more often the changeling might not be such a bad idea! He is yet another character for assassinate though which is very annoying 😕 Definitely worth testing out for sure!

@@BarnyardWargamingOfficial I think having a Lone Operative that is pain in the but to remove (to commit only one unit usually is not save enough to kill him) is absolute money! He can perfectly do the actions where you have to survive in the opponents turn 👍🏼

And you solve our one major problem of 3-4 wound opponent infantry ...
Double Battlecannon Despoiler...right on home objective.
Kills Terminators, Kills Custodes, Kills anything with 3-4 wounds bc just volume of shots....
And ... is another large threat they have to deal with, while skarbrand, a blood thirster, and 2 green big bois are flying down the field. :)

I made this exact list, he is mine Bloodmaster, Bloodthirster, Epidemius, GUO, poxbringer, rotigus, skarbrand, 2 units of 10 blood letters, 2 units of 10 plaugebeares, 1unit of nurglings. the buffs are insane, i was able to one shot a titan. above all else the army is so so so fun to play.
That's really similar to my older list! Insane right! So much fun to play. I just hate failing charges 😅

Deep strike the GUO 3" and the unit lead by epi, with 6 of him with the tankyness in the back line is hard to deal with and you can tie some strong units with almost no downside
The deepstrike opportunities are truly endless now!
Would a full unit of 6 Bloodcrushers give scoring points to your opponent for the Cull The Horde? ( 24 Wounds total ). They were a big part of the meta dyring the Leviathan and now it's gonna be interesting to see them this update. Still think they can come in with a Bloodthirster and go bully units nearby.
I think Khorne is looking really strong right now just for sheer damage! Crushers are looking like a great option! But my biggest concern is that they now pivot because of their oval bases and it makes a big chunky hard to move unit even harder to move! So I prefer running a little blob of blood letters that are slower but cheaper and have more damage with all the buffs. And just as a side note the crushers do NOT give up cull. It's 20 models or a unit with 25 wounds or more excluding characters 😁

A Nurgle themed one would be incredible! But at the moment it's only the masque who only works with a lot of slaanesh units and they are all terrible right now, scribes who don't synergise very well, too expensive and the changeling who for 90 points often just dies without doing anything... For that price I can almost have 9 nurglings in a unit.
@@BarnyardWargamingOfficial Will changeling or scribes still die so easily with the Ksons and grey knights nerfs? Also, 9 nurglings gives up cull the horde points, but 6 does not if it matters.
Ha! Didn't even think about cull the horde! That's very funny and actually in a way even better. Forces the enemy to come and kill them instead of getting a free redraw. I think the changeling will still go down easily... But who knows. With Kairos in my latest list, he might be a better choice instead of a skull cannon for causing battleshocks!

I love my Belakor model but having given all the Greater Deamons a mobile Shadow has made him 'useless' - he needs to come down to the same points bracket at the other

They just need to change his abilities in the codex and keep his points the same.
Maybe more buffs for your deamons.
Something like adding and extra D3 to the healing for your deamons and D3 dmg to your enemies on battle shock would be cool.

Why not take just take Rotigus GUO and Bloodthirster ( instead of skarbrand)? It would give 16 points of Bring it down, at 16pts max many people may not choose bring it down
I just love Skarbrand for the fall back denial and also +1 attack on the blood letters is huge! It's definitely an idea for a lot of extra points... Dropping him though would be a very sad time for me because I just love Skarbrand so much! Competitively speaking adding a lot more chaff into my army to score points and move block instead of Skarbrand is probably a better idea you're right!

I don't like this list because right now we'll see a lot of MSU. For example your multicharge means you're using a LOT of points to kill a lot less pts of enemy units. Meanwhile those daemons will all probably die to any clap back. (ex. my BT and 10 letters just died to 5 CSM terms shooting and charging... and terms are widely regarded as not a good unit). And is people really go all out with MSU, then everything that can't charge through a wall will cry.
I think I'll try going the trash route with MSU fiends, hounds, some nurglings, some lone ops, GUO ofc and then add some hammer units (some Khorne combo maybe). However it seems like the consensus among top players is that Daemons are still one of the worst armies in the game. We'll see though..
That's very fair. I suppose it depends on if you verse a lot of MSU spam often. I find our msu is more expensive and deals less damage than other armies. So I use the greater daemons to deal my damage and the rest to score!

Absolutely yes... But honestly you can't escape it. No matter how the list is made you're going to give it up in daemons I think. The alternative is just scoring and not killing anything 😕
