After recently finishing the game, the metaphors and narrative swell... the idea of learning to better connect with people, to appreciate the little contributions they make everyday to have someone's life be just a bit easier was beautiful. The game made me rethink a lot about how I communicate and reach people in my life. It is rare a video game, let alone a piece of art, can do that.
It’s a shame that people have to teach people lessons in video games since they’re too spoiled to listen to an elder speak facts from word of mouth.

I'm about 10-20 hours into Death Stranding and I'm obsessed with it. I've never played anything like it. On the surface it seems kind of boring but it's actually calming and exciting and interesting all at once. Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time and there are some aspects of this game that actually remind me of it - it's like they hyperfocused on just the terrain and navigation and eliminated a lot of noise to just get to a level of realism and detail on just one thing.

One of the most unique games I’ve ever played. I was so strangely obsessed with it and finished playin it a few months ago with over 70+ hours on it. Really looking forward to replaying it again in the future one day.
It’s not a game for everyone, if you expecting something that will make you feel like some superhero and expect some crazy action like a lot of games, this is not it.
For someone who plays call of duty everyday, I really enjoyed this game. It was like therapy from all the usual shi I see in video games. I loved the music, the great characters, and the crazy story. It was also beautiful and was just overall very unique. As I see someone described in the comments that the game is calming, exciting, and interesting all at once. Can’t wait for DS2, and other games from Kojima.

I walked into this game completely blind, and knew basically nothing about Kojima. I actually enjoyed the hell out of this game due to the enjoyable scenery that you are able to traverse with the tools that you have been given. Not to mention the wonderful since of accomplishment that you feel after going across the map to deliver a package that you know you will be rewarded for. It may not be extremely useful but I still feel a slight since of accomplishment for doing it
USPS is hiring
I loved working on infrastructure. By the time I was done with my achievement run, I had built the entire roadway system. I also built a pretty nice zip line system. I had to be careful with bandwidth but after I maxed out all of the bunkers I managed to do it. I'll definitely play it again.

Kojima already said on an interview for the BBC that he was currently in the pre-production stages of 2 games. Both of which feature moon based colonies. The 1st game he's working on is "UFO: The Return of SHADO", and the other game is "Space 1999: The Return of Space 1999". UFO will even feature the original voice talent of Straker, and of course, Kojima said Brian Blessed was already on board for his role in the Space 1999 game.
This is defo unexpected and came out of nowhere (who even talks about UFO & Space 1999 today???), but they were decent old shows, and if Kojima Productions is making it, it'll definitely be worth a look.

Watching this 4 years later after playing like 10 hours. The introduction to the game in the first 1.5-3 hours are insane! It's so visually pleasing and you can really feel the weight of the world you live in.
I got the game when it first came out and played for about a few days. I felt it was daunting at first. I put it down and just now picked it back up and I’m absolutely addicted. It’s a magnificent experience with breathtaking vistas and yes some convoluted exposition but that’s ok, it’s just so good and different

Having played this for several hours it must be said that this game managed to create a really great online community... can't tell you how much bridges, ladders, climbing rope and generators placed by strangers have helped me out.

I love how in the modern industry we still get the odd weird game from time to time. Is it for me? Probably not, but I really appreciate that people like Kojima are doing this stuff and showing the 'art' side of gaming.

This looks like a very engaging and therefore fun game. In most games you just push L stick to move without thought. Here it looks like every step you have to be careful with, which sounds slow paced but also so engaging when you think of how much you have to walk here. Vehicle controls and combat look supposed to be clunky because it shows your character vulnerability and harsh environment.

With that being said Im sorry to say you do not appreciate games the way some of us do. So many games are alike nowadays. We rarely get unique and risk taking games like this. I absolutely adore this game because I genuinely think it’s fun and addictive. Even if you don’t enjoy it you MUST appreciate it for the originally and give it points for doing something no other game has attempted much less accomplished.
Please support original games. support of games that break free of the mold will inspire other game developers to take bigger risks and actually offer us new and original games.

I just started playing this game yesterday (on the day of the PC release) and it was the most oddly engaging experience Ive ever had with a game. I realized I was playing what essentially amounted to a walking simulator but for some reason it wasnt boring at all. Very surreal

Exact same here omg lol. Well I just bought it the other day for pc and I thought it would be boring but the gameplay is really relaxing and the songs that play are perfect. Also these have to be the highest quality motion capture and cutscenes I've ever seen. You can tell a lot of love and passion went into this game.

you should've gotten them by or before 20 hours in. You should meet a man called "The Craftsman" that will make you some guns if you get him to join up on the UCA's quest. (this is a main quest or part of a main quest)
Well after all this time, I just started playing a few days ago and I’m loving it so far. Each delivery is a challenge. Building bridges, generators etc...escaping BTs. You have to really think things through. Already 20 hours in and still on part 2. Is going to be a 100+ hr play through for me.
I clearly agree this game isn't for everyone but for me it was a great experience!
I've unlocked the platinum trophy and still keep on playing because I like the idea about everyone needs to go the same ways to reach their goal and everyone is suffering because mostly this journey is not easy but once you stop to play this game just for yourself but also to help others to reduce their suffering like others did it for you... Idk it's just a unique feeling for me! :) good day to everyone reading this

Great video Jake as always. A couple of things regarding combat. First, the bola gun you get fairly early is pretty much all you need when fighting mules and terrorists. Shoot at enemy anywhere (large hit box), curb stomp, profit. 2nd you can grab the cargo mules carry when you punch them out. You can use it to OHK (or throw) at next enemy, repeat and profit. It's actually lotta fun. (Especially if you catch enemy cargo before it hits the ground)

Just got the game. Mainly bought it for the main character. Love when you can have him look and the mirror and take pictures. Definitely makes us laugh. The walking can get kinda boring but climbing and trying to find safe places to get to the destination makes it fun for me but hate that the words and icon are so tiny I have to walk closer to the tv to see what I’m doing. The story itself is pretty cool. And the graphics are amazing and beautiful

Personally I love it. My recommendation is this, get high, turn the lights down, grab some snacks and just enjoy the slow ride, the music and the vibes. Some of my most relaxing moments playing this game. I will be streaming it also if anyone wants to stop by the channel. Cheers 🤙🏼🍻🚬
Thank you for the review, gave me a good explanation of the game without revealing too much story. Been looking at this game for a while, but didn't have any insight of the game. Looks like something I'd enjoy, a first person game with a half decent story line.

Quite a lot. And as an extra, it feels AMAZINGLY good when you create the foundations for a construction and a couple of hours later you realize the other players in your server finished the whole thing. It really makes you feel connected to them. I love this shit.

Coming back to this after the end. This is such an incredible game & a great story. Even some humor.
I didn’t like the combat either but I thought the stealth sequences with the mules were really fun (by combat I mean the punch attacks btw) and the boss battles were the perfect difficulty. By that I mean it wasn’t so hard it would take you 20 attempts but it wasn’t easy either and the traveling was very intriguing
Well melee combat wasn't supposed to be ideal because your job is to get your packages to their destination undamaged. That's why you are supposed to stealth and attack with bolo guns or others. Melee is bad in the game and should feel bad

It's crazy how there's still an entire base system w/ weapons that are both lethal and non-lethal almost exactly like MGS and yet people haven't featured that in any of the videos. It's almost as if they didn't make that far in the game and just trashed it. Even here he's saying the gunplay isn't fun and I don't know what he's talking about, I played the game on hard and I found the gunplay incredibly satisfying. The only thing that's annoying about it is it doesn't let you zoom in to aim but there are plenty of third person games that do that.

You can get the reverse trike or long range trike across basically anywhere in this game if you wheelie over rocks and used the bike jump which you can when like stuck on a rock by shifting around on the bike and pressing the jump button
I was definitely one of those people kinda crapping on the game a little bit before playing (especially after watching Dunkey's video on it lol), but I saw enough good reviews that I decided to buy it when it was half off.
100 hours later, and I am overall DAMN HAPPY to have experienced this totally unique game and I do recommend it!

i was watching theradbrad play until i hit that part and he said those words. I DIED LAUGHING because not only i had spent hours watching the gameplay until that part but also realizing that thousands of other people, specially the ones skeptical of the game would be as well. just think for a moment this bit was intended for those players who didn't like the grind of walking and dealing with the first 10+ hrs but did it anyway hoping to get a good thrilling part before ditching the game because it wasn't their cup of tea.

Bob Bobson it’s really not I work the most repetitive job in the world (customer service inbound calls) and I adore this game, it shines the most when you’re trying to avoid the BT’S I’ve never felt more tense especially early on and the community is fantastic I’d recommend it to anyone so far
