Kessler for rights to Rokas, Sims, Washington protected 1st, 2-3 second rounders, Salary filler.
Who's the salary filler? The only one left is McBride. I dont want to trade him. Thats the issue we're having. Hopefully we can sign and trade Burks.
Kessler has a really good contract. Like 2.7 million. Sims probably has similar. May not need salary filler. Ainge would probably want more. Detroit's protected first too.

As it stands now, they are one big Mitchell Robinson injury away from having a big hole at center. And as sure as the Sun rises in the morning Mitchell Robinson is going to get hurt next season. It looks right now, Precious, Sims and Julius as the backup, with OG at specific situations.
What did this team do when the drafted IQ? Grimes? Both 24/25 picks. Both played their rookie years.
That was in the beginning of their rebuilding they had to start there chest moves

If they don’t make a trade in the off season, will they have the flexibility to make a mid season trade? They need a reliable center at some point in the future. I think any deal they make now will be from a position of weakness. Never a good thing.

I dont think the knicks backup center for the playoffs will be on the opening day roster. I think that person may end up coming later at the trade deadline.
You make a GREAT point. The Knicks made two in-season trades this past season that were transformative. This is a clear area of weakness that the NYK need to shore up. Everyone can see it. Ainge will ask for the sun, moon, and stars for Kessler----he HATES the Knicks. Playing the waiting game might be the most prudent thing to do at this point. Can't shop hungry, especially when the seller knows this and doesn't like you. Things are more fluid during the season. The Pistons made a trade back in the day in January of '88 that eventually catapulted them into the Finals past the Celtics when they traded for backup Center James "Budha" Edwards. The Knicks need to continuously gauge the market and strike when they can take advantage of another team's wants/needs/internal strife/injuries/surplus of players at a certain position/poor salary cap situation, etc. Patience is on order now.

They've gotta wait until 30 days after the draft if they wanna trade one of their draft picks. Dadie, Deuce, and Rokas are superfluous assets now that can be used in a deal (along w/lots of 2nd round picks, perhaps cash, & salary filler in the form of Jericho Sims).

Feels like Deuce is gonna have to be inevitably moved for a center. The Knicks didn't want this to be the case and neither did we since Deuce is an excellent asset but Hartenstein leaving and the team not having a starting caliber center on the roster outside of what is hopefully a healthy and in-shape Mitch has forced their hands here.

Hartenstein leaving seems to have caught Knicks fans and ESPN clowns off guard which is dumb when we know other teams could pay him more

Again - DARIO SAKIC - only 30 years old, cheap and great fundamentals to counter the "Hack a Mitch" issue late in games. Sakic shots at an elite level and the best thing he is a PASSER. Playing in this offense shooting 3's you need a SAKIC that can hit the open shooter. SAKIC beat Luka's team in Olympic Trials yesterday posting a triple double. and the best thing he is CHEAP! He can play!!!
