Ford Capri: they ruined the name with another boring suv.
MG: looks the part, that's cool!
But my eyes were all for the Lancia 037 ❤
Thanks Monika for the footage! And Freddie for roleplaying as a racing pilot for a day.
Yessss- that Lancia! I didn’t know the model, but I loved it🖤
Yep you think thats bad you should see the new Mustang it is awful looks like a Peugeot SUV
That Capri is an insult to the name.
Great Video, Triumph and all the other motorcycle riders were lucky you came and set the pace to try and achieve. Well done Freddie, great video and editing Monica!.
I thought it’d be useful for others to have a solid benchmark time to aim for
Glad you and Monika decided to keep the final scene. Like a true hero, 15 year old Fiat 500 deserves credit for getting you there.
The grin on your face as you rode back into the "Paddock" says everything 😁
You summed it up perfectly at the end. But I recall as you drive off in the 500, make sure you own your possessions and that your possessions don’t own you.
Delighted the 500 made the cut. Unsung hero of the channel !
In 1998 I attended the Goodwood Revival Meeting. Seeing many of the old F1 drivers and celebrities in their Ferraris was amazing but for me it was the showdown between Barry Sheene and Damon Hill on historic racing motorcycles. They started off quite well just following each other around the track but as day follows night their competitive instincts surfaced and they turned the parade into full on racing each other on 60’s era bikes, drifting sideways around the bends and leaning shoulders into each other. I’ll never forget that day 😊
Loved the ending 😂😂😂
Just for a minute there I thought you were going to enter the Fiat in the hill climb! Totally agree with you regarding using old car names on modern monstrosities.
I know the car so incredibly well, I would’ve LOVED to try!!😃
Great to see your talent as a racer recognised Freddie…. Imagine how fast you could have gone if they’d found you a suit that fitted!! 😂
Exactly. At least there’s seconds faster, and then I really would’ve had one of the fastest runs!
@@FreddieDobbsI was terrified for you. I kept thinking, “If he comes off that bike, not only will he suffer the embarrassment of that, but his pants will likely come down to his ankles, adding insult to injury!”🤣
Looked like a great day, I'm so pleased these events are still happening and still showcase all that is motoring and not just the new stuff, also keeping the traditions of competion alive too, everyone loves a good race. It appears it did make the final cut Freddie 😄
I had some very stern words for Monika for leaving that in🙋🏻♀️ 😆
Great video Freddie and Monika as ever - what a privilege to ride up the hill! Great fun too (don’t ask me how I know 😜)
if i ever come to england, i will make it to goodwood. found it a few years ago while they had live streams during the even. what a place!
Enjoyed your view of the festival of speed. It's a shame I didn't get to meet you, but glad you enjoyed the experience.. maybe try and make it to goodwood's for the revival meeting in September. It's a completely different experience and one I think you'd both enjoy.
Freddie GREAT VIDEO! but here's the question everybody wants answered, how fast were you? Post your time😂😂
Ford could have created something incredible, they just had to copy the original with some modern twists. But they failed epically at making anything remotely interesting. I remember vividly my capris from 20+ years ago, I've already forgotten what the new one looks like. Grow a pair Ford!
Vauxhall did the same with the Viva..
They somehow made the new one less quality than the OG.
Yeah, Ford really fckd up again. I am with Freddy on this one, if they reuse or revive the iconic names for their electric future, it can’t be a completely different car. I mean the Mustang Mach-E could’ve been a 4-door, no issues with that. But only in form of a ridiculously overpowered, stunning 4-door Fastback Coupé to rival the BMW I4M50, Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S Plaid. As a Foundation to bring a 2-door electric Capri now. But the Capri and the Mach-E as SUVs at almost the same Pricetag (in Germany at least), no thanks. Only the F-150 Lightning makes sense naming wise, because it's still a Truck.
Strongly agree
The unanimous verdict is in - you, me & just about everyone else thinks that the Capri is Crapi, what were Ford thinking when the spat this one out? The MG would be perfect if they stuck a straight six or V8 in it. Great video as always.
Unknowingly I saw you go up the hill. If I had known you there I would said hello!
Always enjoy watching your videos Freddie and Monika, great beginning of the day ! Thanks for all you do its much appreciated ❤ hi from Holland
Really glad you enjoyed it!
Exceptional talent! 😂😂😂 well done Freddie & Monica😊 another great video
Thanks very much!
Great vid Fred and top presenting job top.
Thanks Barney🙌🏻
Excellent peep into the show, Freddie and Monika! Good to see the drive away made the final cut. 🤣
Thanks Richard😆
Ohh Freddie & Monika, another epic adventure!
No matter what car you drive, please make sure your LHS headlight is functioning. Otherwise, your dream car is but a dream...
Well done that Man and Monica.
I'd gone to the Event long time back.. early days, one was Mr Honda was present, a Honda History anniversary of all the Honda GP Race bikes, rare as bikes only owned by Honda Company, likely this the first Race, if call a Hill climb that, since the year Raced.. it was said they'd be stripped/rebuilt and go back into Honda's Museum.
At that time a lot of great Motoring names of History was still with us.. Happy days.
Thanks for another great and fun video👍
Well done for the run up the hill, bucket list! You should have had a closer look at the tractors. I saw 'David Brown' he of the Aston Martin DB fame, and I imagine the others were Lamborghini. Great day out
Seeing Dale's ol Number 3 car there, I audibly stood up from my chair and starting pumping my fist in excitement. We miss the man.
“This bit will not make the final cut.”
And yet, here we are. 😂
Always get an excited Freddie on vids, however couldn’t wipe off the smile on his face with a shovel on this one, great vid Monika , loved the ending 😂
Well done Freddie and Monica - a very professional production, most enjoyable thank you! BTW nothing wrong with the Fiat 500 its a very successful Italian car - all be it a Panda in a party dress!
Freddie & Monika, Your channel just gets better n better...
Loved the final cut.. :)
Great report. Feel exactly the same.
Wonderful episode, Monica and Freddie!!!!
Great video. Final cut was great.
"Exceptional & talent". Wake up Freddie, it's time to get up! 🤣🤣🤣
Lucky guy getting to ride the hill! 👍
I became delusional after the excitement of the race😆
Love those MG's - They must have got a new designer as their first efoorts into the revived MG brand left a little to be desired!
Thanks Freddie for my Sunday coffee time treat!
Lived nearby to Goodwood , ran a 1955 morris . As a teacher I'd have loved to go there but never did , couldn't afford it !
I’d go for that Porsche Singer too. Art.
well done monika [ again ] for not cutting the end ;;; one of your best filmings yet ;;; thanks ;;
Well done, Monika. 😉
Freddie and Monica, the end Says it all!! You prove you can be a perolhead don't owning a bankrupting vehicle. Unique style!!!!
Excellent video. You were very hyped up Freddie !
I was quite excited!
11:33 that's a special custom edition of Royal Enfield Shotgun! Specially made for a movie 😮
Your Fiat 500 Is iconic as your Bonneville now. A pure Dobbs and Monika channel classic. Even with a headlight out and wheel trim missing 😂😁👍
Guys I love the dynamic between yourself and your good lady! It always makes me chuckle!
I also love the humour that you put into the videos it's subtle but brilliant! I really enjoy every video you put out!
Long may it continue 👍👍
the video was great from the first second - as the owner of a black Fiat 500 Abarth (133 hp) with a with a manual transmission and a red leather interior)
Couldn't have picked a better day to experience such beautiful machines ❤❤
Ps: freedie now can add professional racer in his resume ❤
I was so lucky! I will add “Professional Motorcycle Racer” to my LinkedIn profile😆
It was a bloody amazing event proud to of been apart of it gutted I missed you both 🙏
Loved it thanks Freddie, absolutely right about the Capri no bloodline at all just the name, and I loved the Capri growing up 2.8 Special 👌 think that's why I like the new BSA its kept it's bloodline in it's look...anyway fab video, enjoy your Sunday.
That was great, thanks Freddie I really enjoyed it! Now I wanna see you at the Goodwood Revival in your finest 3 piece Saville Row suit looking all retro riding an old Triumph....come on Freddie you must be able to pull some strings.....
it’s currently 2am and i have work at 8am but to hell with it all, Freddie dropped a video !
I hope you enjoy it, and manage to get up for work on time!
Superb fun with Freddie & Monika. "The Legend is Back", what a joke, not a single design cue taken from the original.
Hey Freddie and Monika. Excellent video. Was not aware of the new EV offering from MG. Beautiful roadster. I owned a 1971 MGB in the early 80s and it was a blast to drive , top down , summer days. Good memories. Also I was not aware of the new Capri, which unfortunately looks nothing like my 1972 Capri 2.6 litre. First car I owned, 1974. Also good memories. Thanks for the memories. Cheers and ride safe, Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
You always make me chuckle Freddie
Fantastic Freddie on the triumph....if I owned a Race Team we would have to talk 😂😂....love to you and Monika, great when you're both together making these beautiful videos 👍👍👍👍
That was an awesome episode mate
One of your best there Freddie and Monika, thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
Wow those are are SWEET looking MG's! Great Video.
I'm glad that the cinquecento made the final cut! Dream cars are all very well but a dream is a dream.
Always enjoy watching your videos Freddie.Greetings from Greece!
🏍 So much talent - it's overwhelming - great vid!
Freddie Freddie, the fiat's still only got three hubcaps on it from that time you lost it in the flood....it's seriously doing my OCD head in....for god's sake buy another hubcap! 😲😲😲😜 James Haydon (former British superbike star) commenting on your progress up the hill on the telly...I'm seriously impressed! 😎😎😎👍
Great video - really managed to capture the vibe of a terrific event.
Best presentation I have seen from you Freddie and Monica, down to earth, interesting, I have been there but not for the festival of speed, my brother many times, maybe I should arrange for us to go together next year. Cheers.
Very professional Freddie / Monica - nice work.
You've made the Telee! I could almost smell the petrol! Another fantastic presentation 🤙
Every time I see a Mustang (EV) here in the U.S. I can’t believe Ford did this. I have spoken to some owners of these Mustangs; they tell me they checked out Tesla vehicles, but found the Mustang to be of better quality. Thanks to you and Monica for the great video and showing us around the Goodwood festival. The car I owned before I started working overseas was a 1972 E-Type V12. It didn’t bankrupt me, but it tried. Great car in a straight line, but disappointing in the turns, even with Koni rear shocks.
... Even got tractors... That was a David Brown! They used to own Aston Martin. The DB model series pays homage to David Brown. (Not forgetting that Lamborghini make tractors)
5:23 that lambo from need for speed movie👌
It made it😁!
love from nothern areas of pakistan
Last year of the Jaguar F Type, just had to buy one!
'Alive and well'? It'll be a museum if MIliband has his way.
I always wanted a Rolls Royce and finally bought one for my son's birthday . I choose diamond black with red interior.. it came with free post and batteries from Amazon.
What a great opportunity Freddie. Triumph must be trying to butter you up after they couldn't supply that gasket for your Bonnie 😛
😆
That Fiat 500 is a gem of a car. I love those. 🤍
Gooooo Freddie . cool .
Another great video! Those leathers looked massive on you! 😂😂😂
At least three sizes too big!
@@FreddieDobbs😂. But did you have fun? That's the important thing.
love the triumph bike
Come on Freddie we all want to know. What was your time? Brilliant video
I stupidly forgot to ask, but I’ll email Triumph and try and see if they know. My honest guess. I promise this isn’t me trying to dodge the question😆
Well done Freddie something to remember
Thanks Garry!
I loved all cars in this video. I loved the end of the video. And I loved the amazing Tesla Cybertruck, which sadly you ignored. ;)
Great video. Content like this truly makes legacy media useless *even* in the automotive sector - if anyone ever had any doubt.
Thank you!
Well... It doesn't get anymore Freddie Dobbs than that!
Freddie enjoyed your vid. But there is no MG bloodline to the original Oxford company other than the name. Now owned by the Chinese company SAIC. The cars are subsidised by the Chinese government at a level 9 times that of any other manufacturer contrary to WTO rules and EC regulations on the understanding that the cars are wholly produced in China.
Dirty truths that is conveniently ignored.
Lived and worked in Hong Kong . As my Vietnamese Chinese anti communist wife would tell you , as if the PRC would ever obey any rules. And yet companies like Peugeot produce their scooter there !
Had a freind help set up the factory in mi ole China , MG have some nice cars , europe seem to follow one another and are missing out on boring designs ev 💩🤣😂
I’d love to own a Thruxton Final Edition one day, beautiful bikes. ❤
God on you Monica for not cutting out the last part. 😂
Very nice collection of cars.. but I bet the owners worry where they park them.. nothing wrong with your car for getting about in, especially as you have bought and paid for it.
Well done Freddie and Monica
You’ll be doing track days on the Bonnie next, good stuff Freddie and Monika😊
😂😂 Great episode, fella. Very enjoyable. Agree with you 💯 with your EV statement. Being an ex mk2 & mk3 Capri owner, I found that car very depressing! The one and only ‘tip of the hat’ to the original is the shape of the rear quarter lights!! But that’s it 😢.
Keep up the great work.
Marvellous Freddie, British petrolheadism at its finest! 🇬🇧 That Thruxton final edition is a beautiful looking bike and worth a gander me thinks👍🏻🏍️
A great day out and what an honour to be allowed to make a run up the famous hill. I am surprised they were okay with your helmet though as I thought they'd require one with an ACU sticker, which I don't think your Exklusive has? Be aware that if you ever do a track day, you will need an ACU approved helmet - you don't want to be disappointed!
Thanks to you n monika for the great story
Wow¡ Such an excellent day for car and bike enthusiast's
Great bikes and cars. Wow, some super vehicles to see waiting until late....plus you can find your car and avoid the great escape 😂😂
It does not get more phallic than an old bugatti!
Another Brilliant video Freddie and Monika, for a split moment at the beginning of the video I thought you were going racing in the Fiat
Was it Freddie riding the Guerilla like a hooligan on Stuart Fillington’s video in Spain?
Oh wow, I hope so!!😆 I’ll watch his video to check
Another fun video. Couldn't stop smiling at "this bit will not make the final cut". 🤣
