    Outside foot on the heel guard is a game changer. If anyone is struggling with lower body stability definitely try that out.

    Great vid. Thanks for posting. Used this to mentally evaluate my riding this morning. He said a few things I’ve thought but wasn’t sure if I was correct or doing something wrong. Thanks again!!!

    Great segment. I'm often asked bout things like body position by a lot of the younger people in my area since I'm an old guy that rides/races(58 now). What JP43 preaches is the same answer that I give: be comfortable first. Next I get out to California I'd love to get some coaching, as even at my age I have lots to learn and a strong desire to go faster more safely.

    I notice a lot of riders in the street when taking corners are mostly upright body position, is this method necessary in the street? I mean proper body position moving ur ass to the side when taking a corner? Sorry I’m still quite new to riding an would like to gain as much knowledge as I can, since I would like to do track one day.

    • @stumanrides
      @stumanrides  Před 3 lety +4

      It's hard to understand what you are asking, but I'll say this. Your body position is set before the corner. You move your butt over before you turn the bike. Then when you push the handel bar to lean the bike over, you allow your upper body to go with the bike and lean into the corner as well. Once you get the bike turned your position shouldn't really change mid corner may change slightly on the corner exit. I'd like to do a video on the body position for corner exit at some point in the future. Also if you feel like you have to push on the bar to hold the bike down, you may be using the other side of the bar to hold on and you have to counter that by pushing down on the bar. If you can lock your lower body into the bike like Jason talks about in the video, you should be able to relax your upper body and not have to push down.

    Marquez is a good example only of how to hurt yourself.
    Anyway, it always good to know how to hang off the bike reducing lean angle, it can save you from a road’s sudden obstacle or wet patches.
