- Foster puppy was afraid of doorways and stairs until his big brother showed him they're not scary!
We talked with Judy, who got really attached to this pup and had to decide with her husband whether to foster fail ❤️

At 65 you're still ok for a puppy!
It depends on the person. I’m turning 65 this year and due to some physical stuff, I just don’t have the energy to give a pup all the exercise it needs. BUT I’m adopting senior dogs! I already have one and soon another will join us. ❤
@@lisam9233 Excellent solution, matching your energy! Pets bring so much quality and unconditional love to our lives, make us feel needed and useful, cats and dogs have even health perks. I think most seniors should have some animal at home, especially those who have outlived all their friends and start to feel lonely.
@@lisam9233This is the way. ❤
Well, why the hell not. Jeez!
@@3_3645you sound very old 😂
What a ball of floof. Tommy will teach him to be a brave boy.
So glad you foster failed. He's adorable 🥰.
"We filled out the application just 'in case' we decided to keep him." In their hearts, they knew this was going to be a wonderful foster failure! ❤🐕🤗
This is why I don't foster! I would never be able to give up any furry critter that I'd have for even one day! And then, there are the ones who were abused! How could you ever letting them get to trust you & then tell them that you don't want them, another person who broke their heart & left them😢!!! Gosh, now I'm welling up😢!!!
Mack is a beautiful dog. So glad you decided to adopt him.
I was thinking the same last year, when my neighbours showed up with a 2 months old kitten... at that time I was 57... end of the story: since the mom of the kittens disappeared I also took in the other 2 kittens (Akiza, Luna and Cosmo /2 girls, 1 boy)... so now I have 9 cats 😻😻😻..... a huge thank you and big hugs to all foster parents and adopters out there ❤❤❤
Thank you for saving all those house lions and panthers! You're a Light ❤ Your house sounds like Kitty Disneyland 😻
Already filled out the application in case… lol they were definitely keeping him. ❤
How could you not keep the Moose, he's gorgeous. If you ever need a baby sitter for him, I'm here for you. Good decision.
Thank goodness you kept him! I don‘t think he would have done well without you. And your other pup loves Mac too 😋
He is DEFINITELY a Mack.....NOT a Moose! He has a forever home now. Thank you for giving him that security and love!
❤❤❤❤
❤❤
Thank you The Dodo for your little info boxes that show the reality of taking on a fur child. Many people can’t or won’t put money for medical expenses aside and those dogs, cats etc get dumped when they’re sick or injured. ❤ what you do!
As soon as their puppy helped him up the stairs..... I knew it was going to be a foster fail😄😄😄😄😄😄
I'm glad he has you guys to love and you'll liive him back
It was so cute you could see the dog come behind him and give him a little nudge saying “go up” then goes around and goes up the stairs himself.
With 65 you are not too old for a puppy...especially since he is not a Belgian Malinois or other dogs that have incredible energy.
My dog was five-and-a-half when she learned to go up and down stairs; she had to be lured with freeze-dried green tripe. Once she mastered it, she was SO proud of herself--129 lbs. of Newfie fluff prancing all through the house.
❤❤❤
That's a very specific kinda stinky treat to require for skill acquisition 😅😊 your patience in teaching your Large Floof is so beautiful, may you have many years of learning new tricks together! ❤❤
@@c.ltinsley5648 I hope so!
Extra-stinky was imperative. We were moving into a new house and she wouldn't negotiate the stairs BUT she'd bark like crazy when I did. Obviously, we couldn't have THAT. When I'd put the tripe out of her reach, she'd whimper but resistance was finally overcome by putting it on every few steps. I think success took ~an hour and was very rewarding (and made things a lot quieter). She later decided that the incredibly steep stairs to my third floor were no problem, either.
@@HotVoodooWitch what a sweet story about compassion and devotion. May you and your girl be blessed in your home and on your stairs for many years to come. Viva La Tripe 💛😁🪄🖖
They were obviously scared of the responsibility like most people are, but they KNEW from the moment they saw him
It was more about the pup outliving them which is a concern of many responsible seniors. They are obviously responsible seniors given that they prepared for their retirement and really deliberated about getting a puppy. Personally, it is better for seniors to adopt a more mature dog or even a senior dog because of the issue I mentioned earlier.
Although, the couple certainly seemed healthy, things do change as we age. But, if they ARE healthy, a puppy is a great way to keep active and engaged in the world!
64-65 is perfect age to get a pup
My mother is 59 and has planned to get a dog once she retires since forever. Perfect age!
Right you don’t know how they live shouldn’t discriminate
Can’t imagine early retirement years without our pups! So much joy in them and in us!
As someone who has agoraphobia I also struggle with thresholds. I know in this room I'm safe, I don't know about out there 😅 Absolutely wonderful to have such a loving older sibling to help support him when he's uncomfortable.
You can do it. One step at a time. My mom struggled after Covid. We hadn’t been to church in over a yr. So i convinced her to go, she had an anxiety attack the whole way there. We got there we stayed in the parking lot for like 15 mins she could barely breathe so i distracted her with lunch choices. That seemed to help. After 15 mins we drive off.
Try 30 seconds at a time. Little by little getting longer, I’m no expert in agoraphobia but just a person trying to encourage you, you can do this!
How kind of you to give this gentle advice. I hope it helps this person and others who may need it.
I think their first dog knew right away they were keeping this adorable puppy. 😊❤Very sweet.
Thank you so much for giving this precious baby the wonderful home he deserves!!! 64 and 65 are still young!!! Thank you for keeping him❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Congratulations on your foster fail and thank you for providing Mack with a wonderful loving home! ♥️♥️♥️
How lucky are you both, he's absolutely beautiful, wishing you many years of joy with him....😍😊
I knew they would keep him he is beautiful
_Attn DODO Staff_ - Thank you for including advice on foster and adopting. One of the main reasons shelters are at 10 year high is because people do not think it through.
Of course all puppies are cute and lovable. But you have to ask yourself questions regarding your finances, the environment you can provide, the breed you're looking at, if there are other dogs in the house, et cetera.
*It is traumatizing for dogs to be adopted only to be sent back to shelters.* 💔
Great advice on finances included in this clip!
Tommy is the best... "I will teach this young one the way of the dog." And Moose/Mack, how can you not love such a sweet little boy?
Thank you for loving and adopting him.
I could never give him back, too precious. Thanks for giving him a great home ❤
he is so cute
Yay for Mack and the whole family. Happy Endings are the best.
Mack is a wonderful addition to your family!!!!!! Thank you so much for rescuing him ! What an adorable puppy, you guys definitely made the best decision ever ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
If one has to “fail” then foster fails are the best!!
You are the perfect owners for Mac. Im so happy, that you decided to keep him. I wish you many happy years together❤😁
No matter the age, race, religion or gender, family is those that love and accept you 💕
As "Agnes" from Despicable Me said: He's so FLUFFY!!!!
Such a lovely video, Mack is a darling floof ❤
What polite little guy(know feeling alone can really suck myself)! Who else agrees here?
I love this couple, especially the husband lol! Congratulations Mack! You will be well-loved and cared for for the rest of your life.
Beautiful doggie
Great brother for your other dog.
Absolutely love foster fails ❤
SO glad you kept him!💖
I love a good foster fail story.
We got our Goldie as a pup in our 70’s. Difficult for frost couple years, but, now we don’t know what we would do without him.
God bless you for saving this beautiful boy👍🙏❤️
We just know don't we? ❤😊 The power of love ❤
I got a 9 week old puppy at 66 and retired. I'm not saying it wasn't rough at times, but it was the best choice. I can't see my life without my Ruby❤
Moose did EVERYTHING he could to Make Sure he had a Proper, Loving Home, and LOOK at him NOW! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow, the other dog is beautiful and gorgeous too!😍🐶🐕😍
Bless you both for keeping him. We own 2 each 4- YEAR-OLD GSD's. We are both 65!!! So I fully understand the hesitation. Do yourselves a favor and put the puppies in your will leaving them w good arrangements in case of an emergency. Our Vet agreed to kennel & rehome them for a fee IN THE EVENT THAT My son & daughter-in-law cannot keep them in their home in FL., WHICH THEY HAVE AGREED TO DO!
What! How can you give away that "Powder-face" Baby to anyone else? I am glad they kept him. ❤
Absolutely adorable. Still smiling, so happy they kept this beautiful pup!
Mack loves you guys and I just turned 62 and don’t even think about age, you guys are great and so is your new baby!
THANK YOU FOR KEEPING HIM!! He is going to be such a great companion and friend 💟💟💟 I'm 65 and I have three cats and two dogs, and they are the best! I can't imagine my life without them 💟☮🕉☯ My favorite thing to do is walk and hike with my dogs, that is heaven 🌟

I knew it will be a foster failed, so gorgeous & cute doggie, who will not fall in love with. 🐶❤️Confirm many people want to adopt him if the couple don’t want ☺️

Thankyou ❤️
Good for you and Mack! My hubby and I have 10 years on you but have three adopted dogs, one only 3 years old. They are in our wills with specific plans for their care with friends as needs may arise. Every animal parent should have a plan, we never know! Keep up the loving good work and congratulations.
Made me tear up ❤❤❤❤such lovely story...he's beautiful dog so sweet the other dog helped to show how climb the stairs. Beautiful people to adopt him
Love and kindness always win out in the end bless this lady and her husband ❤👍👍
Congratulations to you all, including your 'big brother' dog!!❤❤❤ I absolutely LOVE ❤️ You 'foster fails'!!! And so do your fur-babies!!!🥰❤️💕✨️❤️
Took mine 5 mths to go up and down when he was a pup. I even tried teaching him different times throughout.Until one day he was playing with his friends inside the house and they were going up and down 5 steps. He looked at them and it was like a lightbulb went on and he thought,”I can do that”! It was hilarious actually.❤❤
Right decision for both you and Moose. Congratulations!
Thank you The Dodo for bringing us a little of happiness 🙏
Mack is precious I’m glad they kept him ❤️
He’s such a beautiful doggy! ❤😍
That’s great that you’re keeping him and who wouldn’t, he’s absolutely handsome! Can you please just take the lead off him though.
Beautiful couple thanks for giving him a beautiful family
Wow, what a beautiful gorgeous puppy!😍🐶🐕😍
I've heard it said that if you can't make up your mind, flip a coin to decide. As soon as it lands you'll either be happy or sad. That's how you'll know what the right decision is.
I'm so happy you kept him!
He’s such a cutie.
He is absolutely adorable, you made a great choice!
Best decision you ever made!
