  • This review is on the Made in USA LED flashlight from Surefire. This model is the E2D LED Defender Ultra. It is very well made, has high quality materials, and a high price tag to go with it! But, it is a nice flashlight, regardless of the price.

It looks like Cloud Defensive is coming for Surefire’s lunch.
The Surefires are made well. Been carrying one for about 6 years. No complaints.

Cloud is doing some awesome stuff but brands like Surefire have such a heritage of making stonebuilt tools that they are secure in the market. I trust them because they are the best IMHO. Many departments and the military gave trusted Surefire for a long time

I know people complain about the price, but in have two Surefire lights and they are tanks, work well and over all very good.

It is waterproof down to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Also, CR123a cells have many advantages. They can work in temperatures that no other batteries can work in and hold their charge in storage for a long time without starting to corrode. They also are super lightweight and have a lot of power. Surefire makes great lights but I always carry my Elzetta Bravo. The Z Line of modular flashlights from Elzetta are so much more durable than Surefire. They are waterproof INSIDE and out and are significantly more impact resistant thanks to their fully potted electronics that Surefire doesn't have. They are also modular with interchangeable parts like their 1 inch thick user replaceable solid acrylic optical lens (and the list of advantages goes on). I like my Surefire lights but they just don't come close to matching the quality and durability of my Elzetta Bravo B331. An Elzetta Bravo only costs a tiny bit more but blows Surefire and other brands out of the water.

Great video please keep posting more there is little to no info on these amazing surefire lights!!! Especially older discontinued surefires!!! Thank you so much for going into depth with it also! May I suggest doing this for Elzetta flashlights also these is little to no info on the older and new models

I see a lot of comments saying these are expensive. They are but not to be confused with overpriced. Some place a premium on quality, durability and origin. These folks don't carry or own lights that have labels with names such as Olight, Fenix, Streamlight or any of the other Chinese sourced brands. And this Surefire isn't particularly pricey on the EDC flashlight spectrum. In the end you only have to carry and depend on one light. Buy right.

For those who use this for duty or serious uses, its a buy once cry once item to have the best for life. Plenty of people have and still use Surefire lights made 10, 15, and even 20 years ago. $250 for a light you can use and rely on for 20 years is a great value.

Bought a Surefire in 2009 while serving in Iraq when they were still using the non-led bulb. The bulb overheated and blew out. Tossed the light in the trash. Best light i ever bought lol

I still have my original incandescent G2(what the police carried) and The original E2 Defender, they still work but they aren’t half as bright as when I bought them 15 years ago. Are there any LED conversion kits? Even though I don’t like paying for the 123a batteries i’d be interested in modifying one.

This light probably doesn't support rechargeable 123 batteries. Some lights just won't
This light is ridiculously overpriced and it can't use a rechargeable stick. People still buy these ligjts..makes no sense. $224 for a light that uses disposable batteries? Pass
