WCW was the first American wrestling promotion I got into as a fan. It's still my favourite promotion of all time. Thankyou for showing the good side of WCW.
It's a shame how most people now a days see wcw as this bumbling mess that rode off the nwo. They were so much more then that.
LOVED WCW back in its heyday! I preferred Nitro to Raw earlier in the 90s and through the mid-90s…it was just better wrestling performances than the clownery that was WWF.
An honorable mention for me is Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett at Bash at the Beach 2000. Yes, the PPV was terrible but if there's one match to see, it's this one. Seeing Booker T finally win the big one after seven years in WCW is a memorable moment.
Bash at the Beach 2000 is indeed the most infamous shows in wrestling history. It was covered by last season's Dark Side of the Ring episode. But yeah, the only good moment on that night was Booker T winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Jarrett. It was a good match.
People always overplay the 2000s WCW sucked. Imo it was already rebounding with The Natural Born Thrillers, Steiner, Booker T ETC.
That Raven vs DDP vs Benoit triple threat was AWESOME! I remember watching it live and loved it!
Ric Flair of that era can't be topped, glad Vader is featured prominently, but Steiners vs. Williams + Gordy is a glaring omission.
Yes! Kept expecting to see them especially in the top 10.
WCW deserves more positive attention -- it did a LOT right, and no matter how much people complain about it, it was WCW that reignited interest in professional wrestling in the late 1990s and forced Vince to improve his stale product.
I love these longer cultaholic videos.
Same here, so much work put into them.
Me too ❤
@martinputt6421 hell yeah hats off
Same here
Though I lived in NY as a kid and my dad was a WWF fan, after finding WCW on TBS, it was (and stayed) my favorite until around the end of 98 when it just got too stupid for me to enjoy anymore. I'm legitimately going to take the time to watch all 50 of these matches over the course of the next couple weeks or so. Great job.
As far as Liger vs Pillman two days after he won the title from Brian in December they had a match at a house show,in New Jersey. I felt privileged to have been there, wish there was footage of that match.
How about top ECW matches? There doesn’t have to be a certain number
I second this suggestion!!!
A fantastic list of great matches. With their being only ("only") 50, of course there will be matches missing that could have easily made the cut. For me, one match that would be included is Raven & Saturn vs. Malenko & Benoit from Spring Stampede '99. An amazingly good tag-match with a mesh of styles, it really is one to seek out (Spring Stampede '99 as a whole is a great show, so check out the whole thing).
Great recommendation, all 4 men work intense and really make it a credible and competitive atmosphere for a great match.
Would also highly recommend sting vs ddp on nitro for wcw championship.
Eddie and Malenko had a an absolute banger on Nitro in late 95/early 96. It was my first time seeing either of them and my god, I was hooked on their style for years to come. I was praying that match would be included, if for no other reason, so that I could find out what Nitro it aired on and go watch it again.
Ric Flair vs Inoki in Collision in Korea its not a masterpiece, but i would say its a "must watch" considering how unique it is
I have that ppv but it took me forever to find it to download it
Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne vs Nasty Boyz was like watching wrestling from another planet when it first showed up in WCW in 1994. It was insane and absolutely amazing. I had seen Sting vs Jack before this but the tag match was the first time you saw a ECW like match on major PPV
Ok. Now do 50 Jim Crockett Promotions/NWA Matches to watch just once Adam.
Not a negative but the background music in this video made me think an ice cream truck was going by outside 😂😂 ty for you videos and absolutely Love em.
You missed Sting vs DDP on Nitro for the world title durning the first hour of that night
Thanks for that background melody. Been thinking the ice cream van been coming for last hour now
Love this list, would love to see ECW, TNA and eventually AEW
WCW Then Now Forever Together
A tag team title match from Halloween Havoc 1992 is among the longest matches in WCW PPV history (tied with Steamboat/Rick Rude 30-minute Iron Man match )
The Benoit vs Hart match was classic. Hart actually wanted Benoit to go over, but the bookers wouldn't let it happen, apparently.
I don't know if i missed it, but Hulk vs Lex when Lex won the title and War Games 96 because of how dramatic it was when no one trusted Sting.
For me personaly the great American bash 1990 sting vs flair for the worlds heavyweight championship the original big gold belt was the best match in wcw.
I will always default to DDP vs Macho Man, any of them. They were all great.
Benoit vs Sullivan at GAB is one of my all time favorite matches
34:46 Eh Yo You dealin' with the X-Factor!!
I would love to see one of these lists for both ECW and Impact/TNA.
You can't go wrong with a Regal vs. Finlay match.
Ric Flair vs Eddie Guerrero at Hog Wild I believe it's 96 or 97 but that match one of my favorite Eddie Guerrero matches of all time I told that to Vickie Guerrero
Awesome video!!!
NWA/JCP/WCW
Flair vs Race
Flair vs Rhodes
Flair vs Garvin
Flair vs Luger
Flair vs Sting
Flair vs Steamboat
Flair vs Funk
Flair vs Muta
Flair vs Fujinami
Flair vs Windham
Flair vs Rude
Flair vs Vader
Flair vs Hogan
Flair vs Savage
Flair vs Anderson
Flair vs Giant
Flair vs NWO
Flair vs Piper
Flair vs DDP
Cactus Vs Sting was the first WCW match i ever watched. And i loved it!!!
Kudos for breaking your own rule and including the Flair Steamboat trilogy. Each match is truly great in different ways and they all deserve a mention.
Thank For the Top 50 Video and Happy Easter Day p.s. thank For recommendation🥚🎨🖌️🖼️🐇🌟🥇🏆
12. For those who care. In Philadelphia the hockey arena is on Broad Street and our hockey team in the 1970's was infamous for their shall we say bullying lol
I love The Late Great "Ravishing" Rick Rude's WCW run, alongside Big Van Vader until freaking Hulk Hogan completely buried Vader!
Hulk never pinned Vader. Vader even kicked out of Hogan's finish at 1.
That's definitely not a burial, brother
@@NoneofYabiz-rx3zi Getting right back up after a Vader bomb numerous times are clear examples of burying a talent U 🤡
Vader was the man.
I wonder if they’ll mention Halloween Havoc 97?
That melter muck spray image will live with me till my death.....cheers
WCW 😎
Gone but never forgotten 👍
@cultaholic what is the name of the background music from 1:36 - 13:05 in this video?
never was into WCW as a kid was a wwe fan but these lists make you realise how good wcw was back in the day really good list of matches 👌👍
You could like both.
Good list!
Too bad we never got Goldberg versus Savage not sure if he could have worked his magic at that time but in theory it would have been Bill's best match. Oh yeah
DDP did it with Bill so I’m sure Savage could of
I've always thought Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat from Clash at the Champions VI was the best of the 1989 trilogy while WrestleWar was by far the worst.
Love you guys
Finally a wcw one
I would have added one of the final matches for wcw such as sting vs flair or booker t vs Scott steiner
Sting vs flair that last nitro? Not a good match
Red Neck Kung Fu. It really is the best type of Kung Fu, isn't it?
Brian pillman is the biggest "what if" when it comes to wrestling. Gone way before his time.
After his car accident he was done as far as being a great high flyer.
He only had great character work, but also horrible addiction issues due to the pain
Needs to be a ECW or TNA version mext
Dang dude, Dean Malemko made it on the thumbnail twice
It's because he never had a bad match One of the most underrated wrestlers ever
I miss ECW and WCW. AEW, TNA, and ROH don’t feel the same.
*The background music of this video legit almost put to sleep lol* 😭
Can you please get TripleJump to play either auto destruct for the Playstation or primal rage for the Sega genesis?
Yes!
Older wcw was pretty decent definitely better than wwe in 95😂😂😂
Ya wanna watch some good wcw i got two words for you! Gordon Solie! Man was the best on the mike in the early years of the promotion
I’m Ireland you couldn’t see WCW on the telly back in the 80s and 90s caught up with some of it on the WWE network and my god it’s literally like the WWF on it’s very worst day. It was shocking to see talent from the WWF go there and just seem to lose all way of having a match and selling it
Yes !!!!!!
Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat.
Ric Flair was 44 when he won the title from Vader (Vader was about 38)..
Orton is 43, Styles and Cena are now 46, Mysterio is 49.
I think he means post NWA days not NWO days when talking about Sting’s Squadron vs Dangerous Alliance.
Austin vs Steamboat.
Actually not a bad list, but probably could have expanded to 75.
Could have easily included:
Sting vs DDP from Nitro
Hogan vs Luger from Nitro
Windham/Rhodes vs Doc & Gordy from Saturday Night
Nastys vs Steiners from Halloween Havoc
Midnights vs RnR Express from WrestleWar
Benoit vs Booker from Great American Bash
Hogan vs Vader from SuperBrawl
Larry Zbyszko vs Steven Regal from Saturday Night
Just to name a few.
Luger Vs Hogan On Nitro Before Road Wild '97 PPV/ Goldberg Vs Hogan Nitro '98, Hogan Vs Flair Slamboree '99/Uncensored '99.
I would love to see Sami Zayn do them moves when he dethrones Gunther at mania
Mines a small boy I’m offended
Doom vs Steiner Brothers Capital Combat 1990
Doom Vs Horseman Starrcade 1990
Ric Flair vs Lex Lugar Wrestlewar 1990
Steven regal vs sting
WWE needs to resurrect the Triple Cage they used at Slamboree 2000 (I think). Great gimmick match IMO
What about Jerry Lynn vd Rey mysterio Jr on nitro
“The match is about as pretty as the four men involved 47:38
Flair vs Funk I Quit. #2. I agree with 1
If Goldberg vs Steiner at Fall Brawl 2000 is not on here then this list is bogus.
Post nwo days at number 2?
W
I would fucking kill for some surge.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING A MATCH WITH TWO COAT SCORPIO... HE'S BEEN MY FAVORITE WRESTLER FROM DAY ONE AND I'M 46 YEARS OLD I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THIS GUY I FOLLOW HIM EVERYWHERE. HE DOESN'T GET ANY LOVE I ALWAYS HATED THE FACT THAT HE WASN'T IN ANY OF THE AKI GAMES HE IS IN ONE JAPANESE WRESTLING GAME BUT OTHER THAN THAT THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO ESPECIALLY THE TOO COLD SCORPIO PART😂.(I love the video by the way not taking that away from you 💯)
Sans Ric Flair, Sid Vicious, DDP et The Warrior, la WCW aurait été tellement plus cool !
I miss WCW
Gonna be salty if Dean Malenko v. Ultimo Dragon from Starrcade '96 isnt on this list
Just got to #14. Very pleased with you boiz
Jonathon Taylor here. I was a fan of WCW. I was loyal to my boys the nWo and nWo wolfpac.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas? From home improvement to the CZcams comment section.... You've lived one hell of life, brother
@@NoneofYabiz-rx3zi uh no. I don't even play pro football. I'm not famous. I'm a Christian man I love Jesus with all my heart and yes I had a bad and rough life for a long time and I don't want to bring it back in to my life anymore all want in my life now is my lord Jesus and I acknowledge him as my savior. This is Jonathon Taylor.
@@user-xb7ko7kk5eJonathan Taylor Thomas was on home improvement
😂 @ maybe he's just a banging electrician aka the king of cable
Wonder when (or if) they will do the 50 WORST Matches in WCW History??
Fliar vs scott s in 90
Just curious why everyone is posting about wcw all of the sudden I dont mind but its just weird you guys had how many years to come out with vids for them but in 2024 is wild
Well, they can't just not produce content. They've made a lot of video going back into WWE's past, so why not WCW now?
8th
3.5g
Looking at Chris Jericho now... 😳. Looking like he's a bottle of bubbly away from being a Super Heavyweight 😏
How the hell is there just 50?
There is a distinct lack of Bunkhouse Buck in this list
WGAF.
Adam pachitti needs to put a bit of bass in his voice.hes starting to piss me off
If he tried to do every time he narrated a video, he would get tired of it very quickly, and his narration wouldn't sound natural. That's the way his voice sounds. Not a big deal.
Love how WWE got 100, but they could only find 50 WCW matches for this list.
Decades more matches to pick from.
He chose 50 from the version of WCW after Jim Crockett sold to Ted Turner, so it's a pretty limited scope. If he was gonna choose 100 for this list, he would probably have to overrated certain matches.
6:00
The background music in this video is unbearable to me after a while for some reason
Somehow flair vs funk in a retirement match will be the last wrestling match in the known universe
Lies...
Had to turn off because of the background music
Then you missed out on a good video. The background music is arbitrary.
@urbaindelva7869 I'm sure it was a good video. Hence, clicking to watch. But when you have hyperacusis, the background music is unnecessary
@@HikeWizard i can barely hear it. Turn the volumme down then.
Just from looking at the wrestlers in the photo I know your list is fraudulent because there is no Sid Vicious.
24:12. "One of the very best matches in WCW history" and you place it 32nd? Are you high? Bret and Benoit is top 5 at worst.
Pillman and Luger. I think you mean Liger. Pffft I hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
