Honestly, I think I would prefer the Shadow over the Staccato anyway so in my case I'd definitely get it.
I have to admit, I am really looking forward to doing the comparison!!
You are both retarded. Cz is one of the ugliest and middle of the field guns made here recently
Shadow over a CZ... Obviously you haven't shot a staccato
Thanks for posting this. I've had my CS for since they first came out, but obviously the gun itch has never satisfied! This CZ would be a great addition to any EDC rotation
I totally get you!!
That registry list in MD sounds unconstitutional AF.
You’ll enjoy the shadow 2 compact. Similar in comparison to my staccato C2. I own both and I love both.
Am really looking forward to it!!
I appreciate that you are a gun lover who loves to compete! Your perspective on reviews reflect most of us who just love guns and as a bonus we compete!
Thanks, Brother!! I appreciate the comment.
Great video, love the awesome 😎thumbnail!! You’re one of the best gun enthusiasts I know!! Appreciate all the knowledge and dedication that goes into your channel!! 💚
Thank you so much for all of the kind words. I cannot begin to tell you how much it means to me!!
I bought my CZ shadow two compact yesterday. I’ll pick it up tomorrow. I’m hoping I don’t have first production run problems but I’m excited as hell to pick it up.
I can’t wait to hear your take on it!!
I’d say you definitely need it. I just got a P-07 and I feel like I need the shadow 2 compact.
Yup, I totally agree. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on one.
Nice video. I only know the Stacattos from your videos but ordered a CZ Shadow 2 Compact and hope to get it this month. All the best.
I am so glad you’re enjoying our channel!! Please give me some feedback once you’ve had a chance to play with the CZ Shadow 2 Compact.
Just in case you haven‘t heard yet: Switzerland beat USA in the shooting world championship 2023 in Baku. 😘
@@patricksuzuki674 Damn Swiss😉
Let me know when you are visiting Switzerland. I will show you my collection and we can go shooting.
Has it ever really been about "need"? 😉
So, so, so true!!!!!
...unless you ask my wife😬

P01 Steel Frame is my home defense gun. About to get it cajunized. I’m debating to pick this one up. I have 4 CZ’s. 🔥🔥🔥
Love the CZ’s, hefty but a great shooter. I’d love to have a Stacatto. Just never be able to Anya high end quality pistol. Love my Hk vp9. I really wanna put an RMR on it, but milling is expensive. A pre-milled slide is more then the pistol itself.
Hopefully one day I’ll win the lottery to be able to afford a great nice high end one.
Great video as always bro! Hope to be able to visit and go shoot with ya.
Hope all is well.
Thanks Lou!! I'd love to shoot with you!! Hey, that's cool because it rhymed too😎
I literally just asked myself this! Great content!
I’m glad you enjoyed it ant thanks for commenting.
Good lad, of course you need it! We aren’t allowed anything more than a BB gun in the UK, so I love to watch your content.
I feel you, my brother from a British mother!! I'm happy to be here for you!!
Within the 1st minute and a half I wanna be this guy's friend
With that comment, you already are!!
I love your blatant honesty ! You'd think I was John Wicks brother when I show up at the local gun range. Only to be out- gunned by a competent kid with a Hi Point Yeet Cannon. If you love something make yourself happy
Ill be the first one to say you can't buy skill, but you can look good when you practice.
Gun enthusiast might be an understatement. You definitely need one, Doctor! You deserve it. You're right about the de-cocker, too.

Thank you, brother!! I appreciate the comment.
I almost think I'd prefer a Wilson combat SFT9 over a staccato.
I’ve got the staccato xc and every model of the cz. CZ is by far a budget competition gun. The way you dropped the hammer is correct and there is only one other method. Basically put your left index finger between firing pin and hammer. Pull trigger, promise it won’t hurt. Very important is now release trigger and keep trigger finger away. Remove left index which will leave the firearm in half cock. This is the way to carry a shadow as it doesn’t have a firing block. Hence in half cock it is drop safe. Hammer down is not. If you want to know the feeling of shooting the compact, imagine the 2 to 3 thousand dollar Wilson combat sfx 9. Same frame and solid upper. Hopefully that all helps. Oh because no safety block to have an amazing trigger you can’t have a decocker. You need to think of cz as a cheap double stack 1911. Different grip angle but you get the point. 1911 doesn’t have a decocker.
All excellent points. Thank you for sharing. The big difference is that 1911's (and 2011's, for that matter) are single action only, so if you choose to carry them with the hammer down, in condition 2, you have to cock your hammer prior to being able to activate the trigger,
@@DrTac 100%.hence half cock.
I have the C2 and CS and will be adding a Shadow 2 compact. Buying guns is not about need it’s about want.
i am not sure if everyone is aware but the shadow 2 and i believe all the shadow lines do not have a firing block so keep that in mind. especially if you plan make changes to trigger weight, trigger, firing pin, firing pin spring etc. also i would make springs are in good shape too and probably change them out more regularly.
Excellent points. Hopefully, I’ll have a lot more first-hand experience to report back with, shortly. Thank you for your comment.
what does this mean exactly? the shadow 2 compact seems like a dream gun , but everyone says it is unsafe for carry, why would they do that with a compact?
@@brighthought11CZ recommends carrying the shadow 2 compact with the hammer in half(quarter) cocked position with the manual safety on. Even if the hammer is down with a live round in the chamber, there’s a possibility of the pistol were to fall from the holster and land on the hammer that the round could go off.
@@brighthought11 i didn’t mean my comment to come off as unsafe to carry, just saying with most guns these days they have all these extra parts installed make the firearm more “safer” while these shadow guns do not have these parts. if do you research on internet you will see some incidences relating to this firearm
@@brighthought11 it is a dream gun. Affordable and damn good shooter. If you going to carry it, just put it at half cock. The safety is actually worth nothing as it’s a double action first shot.
Dr knows best!!!
Just got my Shadow 2 compact, from out of State, drove 6 hours one way and 6 back just to pay for it and have it shipped back home as they told me they could not let me buy it over the phone as they wanted to cater their available stock to "locals"; out the door including main expenses from the trip I was $1550.00 but still at the time I saw the gun selling for $1250.00, PSA had one in their site listed for $1599.00 so it is what it is, does not bother me the extra $200 for this gun and I am now interested in competition; never been before but except for few .22 like my Ruger Mark III Hunter and a Volquartsen Black Mamba, which can be used for it, never owned a competition gun in 9mm, now I do, the final decision will be once I shoot it. By the way folks talking about the lack of firing pin block and the de-cocker and how "dangerous" this gun is, honestly they should not be even near a gun like this; the way you show bringing the hammer live is the only and safest way to do it and I am sure when you do so you point it downrange, so if someone feels uncomfortable they should not be around a Shadow II compact, or maybe even any gun, period. If one does not know how to safely handle a firearm it is beyond me why they are around them in the first place.
So good news and bad news. The good news is that you now own a great CCW gun that will serve you well as an entry gun into the wonderful world of competitive shooting…the bad news is, once you’ve started down this rabbit hole, you will have a new gun for your competition shooting,in fairly short order. Unless you are competing in a CCW-style match, you will find that a bigger, heavier gun will serve you better…like say the CZ Shadow 2 Orange, which has the same manual of arms, but with a heavier frame, lighter trigger, longer grip…in other words, all the things you don’t want in your CCW, but do want in your competition gun.
Welcome to the rabbit hole!! Enjoy your new gun and thank you for commenting!!
The Shadow 2 shoots so well. If the compact comes close it will be a must have. That double action trigger is extra nice.
I was expecting the trigger to be significantly heavier, as a carry gun… but I was pleasantly surprised to feel that same shadow 2 trigger that I love in my orange.
@@DrTac nice! That's good news.
That question is ridiculous. Of course you need one. It’s amazing!!!!!! Heck just get one of each.
Same reason they didn’t put a drop safety in it
I can sure you would less sketchy way to decock, but it would depend on whether the compact has a different trigger
If there is, I can’t figure it out, nor has anyone else I’ve reached out to…but if you can figure it out please please let me know!!
oh hey there from MD as well.. for anything CZ I would give 2A in Jessup a call. They had the dwx before it was even on the register.. couldn't buy it in store yet ofc but they get everything. i found my 97BD there and my friend got a s2 for 1100
I’m familiar with 2A, but it’s not one of my usual haunts. Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll be checking them out shortly 😎
Nice firearms. My only suggestion on lowering the hammer on a live round is to make sure you don’t pin the trigger and the hammer will be in a half cock position on the firing pin block. I only have one CZ and that’s how mine is and so is my beretta and Sig.
That’s a great point. I’ll make sure to point that out next time. Thank you for commenting.
Let me know if your CZ is the same way.@@DrTac
Is half cocked acceptable in competition?
@@entropicdoom8018 I believe it is. I don't ever recall having been checked after "decoocking" and I pretty much always take my finger off of the trigger while lowering the hammer, which does put the hammer in the half cocked position.
@@entropicdoom8018 no
Where do you shoot? I’m recently getting into Steel Challenge in Thurmont, MD.
Indoors, I shoot at The Guntry Club of Maryland (which holds ASI matches) and Continental Arms. Outdoors, I usually shoot at The American Gun Club (AGC), which has Falling Steel matches. As for USPSA, I go where the matches are, so I have been to Thurmont several times.
The compact shoots very flat, just got mine yesterday and shot 300 plus today. Both single and double work just like on. It’s big brother. Well worth it and I’m a 226/229 guy.
Are you planning on carrying it? If so, do you plan on carrying it in condition one or with the hammer down and double action? By the way, I was really hoping to get more negative feedback, but comments like yours are going to cost me more money.😎
@@DrTac I do plan on putting it in my carry rotation starting with the coming winter owb until I become more comfortable with it through practice. I will start out carrying hammer down but I’m also comfortable with condition one. Carried 1911 for years. Have to get used to the small safety first though on the cz
Have you tried the CZ Shadow 2 single action only that’s a fantastic gun
The CZ TS 2 (Tactical Sport) is an awesome gun with an amazing trigger...but you can't use it in USPSA Production because it's single-action only. Also, it is pretty much strictly a competition gun (as is the original Shadow 2). I have had the opportunity to play with one and she was definitely a shooter!!
Not sure why this is even a question sir! You always need a new gun! But the CZ Shadow 2 Compact is NICE! I didn't get to shoot it but it felt good in the hand and is so PURTY!
It's comments like this that co$t me!!
The CZ Shadow Compact should be on the roster in November.
Shoutout to all the OG’s who know how to shoot a revolver and how to de-cock on a live round with one hand. It’s called practice. 😊
Yipee -Ki-Yay MOFO💚
I just got the Shadow 2 Compact. Im in the 7 day wait in MD....UGHHHHH. Where you located at? Ever shoot at Guntry Club? I also shoot competition matches. Big action shooting fan.
I’m at Guntry like twice a week. Hell, we just had a baby shower there for one of our hygienists. I hope to meet up with you there sometime…just ask the staff that have been around for a while, if Doctor Tactical is in😉
Where did you find your S2C? On line or did you find a shop that had one in stock?
that’s funny we’re both local. Are you going to the USCCA event tomorrow at Guntry. If so… I’ll see you there. I got the S2C off of Gun Broker. Delivered on Saturday and now just waiting.
@@CorvetteFanMD I can't, my daughter has a basketball game. Enjoy the event and tell everyone that DoctorTactical said, "Hi!!" I am sure we'll meet up soon.
Yeah, I don't see the problem of owning both! 😂
I love my shadow 2 compact! That's the only way to decock it lol.
I can live with that. Enjoy!!
That’s like asking a dope fene if he or she or it wants another hit
Is this gun safe to carry for Joe average guy? No fire pin block safety so not drop safe and no de-cocker.
Great question ant the answer is…I don’t know…but I’m gonna find out.
The Shadow 2 Compact can drop to quarter cock after releasing trigger while holding hammer. See CZcams short videos about it
Do it! I just picked mine up... My plan is to use it for comp and carry... to DeCock it one way is to hold the hammer and pull the trigger and let go of the trigger then.. lower the hammer to half cock.. if you do it that way the hammer wont go any further than half cock...
I want to handle one before I buy one, but they're nowhere to be found in my neck of the woods.
I was going to save up and get the CS but the Shadow compact is only $1,200 MSRP. That's cheaper than a P229 Legion
I have a CZ Shadow 2 compact that I am getting rid of for just that reason. The only real way to do it is to drop the magazine, rack the slide and eject around... Then you drop the hammer as you explained. I bought mine as a concealed carry pistol. Got caught up in The Bling... And it's going to be traded for a civilized 1911... 🤨🤔😱😜
Safety is first and foremost, so if you don't feel comfortable, you're doing the right thing. Thanks for commenting.
I definitely want the cz S2c, I do like CZ's and want to upgrade from sp-01. Though I don't think I would ever carry the Shadow 2 compact, for two reasons; the weight and the price. Me personally I wouldn't want to carry a 1300+(or more, a lot more), gun around, jmo.
I used to carry a Walther Q4 SF (with the SF standing for steel frame). It was heavy and expensive...it was my version of a Rolex. I still love that gun and it still sees some holster time. Bottom line is that you have to do what makes you feel comfortable and I certainly respect your opinion. Thank you for commenting.
Great video can’t wait when you get an atlas
That is planned😎 thanks for the comment.
Thx
Does Staccato offer a pistol that is a NON 1911 style?????
No, the only Staccatos I know of are 2011's.
Dope.
They are being priced like Toyotas! Above M.S.R.P., which is ridiculous. I can wait it out until the prices come down or get some other pistol.
Yeah, they are hot items. The price should definitely come down.
Why do i get on CZcams, I have talked myself out of a Shadow 2 compact, I just bought a Dan Wesson DWX and a Staccato P. I don't need it, i don't need it, i..... son of a....
I hear you, brother!! I just shot my brand new Shadow 2 Compact...I just told myself that the Dan Wesson Compact is SA-ONLY...even though I love SAO, that justification was good enough for me😎...but clearly, I'm not a tough sell...
Practice ‘thumb on hammer’ de-cocking until you are comfortable with that manipulation and develop muscle memory not only in your hand, but also, in your mind… NEVER BECOME COMPLACENT about de-cocking!, that is what will torch off an unexpected round..good luck on the circuit…
If you shoot limited you can shoot cocked and locked.
Yes, you are correct but if you are going to shoot in Limited, then you would probably be better off with the SAO version of the Shadow 2, the TS.
@@DrTacI shoot open class
You don't "need" more than one pistol. None of us do. After the first one, it's all "want." 😂😂
Don’t be ridiculous…next you’re going to tell me I don’t need a Porsche…do you even hear yourself, man?!!😎
