It wasn't working because you had the wheel facing sideways at first. The sails show the way forward according to the original raft. Also, if it's the same as other ships in the game, you are technically only anchored when you hop off.
OMG, been waiting so long for you to try a "ValheimRaft" playthrough.
With such a massive change to gameplay with that mod, I assumed you'd do a fresh start. But this is still awesome!

I want to see you using that in a storm xD, also the edge of the world idea is intriguing
for everyone that wants to build a base on the edge of the world without mods and a single cosnsole command: you can look up the id from a shipwreck and place it near the edge. even in the ocean the shipreck model creates a little island where you can build whatever u want. u can also destroy the shipwreck after. i love broadbents idea here not using console and stuff, but i just figured to share this method for anyone interested. great video !

i was scared to use this as a main base, but i found a defense mod that allows you to add all sort of weapons. THAT helps, plus with the mistlands coming up man this mod will be pretty game changing.
Check where your rudder is that is the back, so the helm is at the front, good content for the build

Can't wait for someone to make an aircraft carrier using this mod in a month or so...
I think with the Raft mod there is a console command that raises the base out of the water so you can build around it. Some people have used the 45 degree roofing sections to have something that look smuch more like the bottom of a traditional boat.
The command is "raftcreative"
Make sure you have your hammer put away when you do this. It reduces the chances of being launched into the tree branches
Try Scale Map mod, all it does is stretch the seed map, so bigger map, mean Bigger Ocean to sail, and bigger landmass. Tried with FLOrida seed with 4x scale setting. No more useless small chuck of land in the middle of land scattered all over the place.
If the edge of the world is near your island, what about having a long bridge connect to the Edge's tower lol? Idk it just popped into my mind. But then again my friend loves bridge builds so I keep thinking of those 😅
for my boat, I raised my portal a bit so I stopped glitching through the floor in rough water.... just a thought if you've been having issues.

i wanted to raft mod too so i can build a forge hub .. cool this about it idk if they fix it but u can make them fly

anther cool ider i had with it was building a serpen hunting boat to harpon them and drag them in to the boat to get the meat and scails

idea just food for thought but can you make the raft a blueprint, then copy it anchor it one on either side of your "end of the world bridge" so that you can work on either side of it during construction. making things easier for yourself if you end up using the "raising the ground" idea i suggested during stream. just some ideas, love the content would love to hop in and help farm for a day and just talk valheim.

Also just started a „Raft“-through with my wife, she building and extending our House boat and me Farming the stuff - this mod is so funny :-) we only identified one issue so far: the raised beds of Valharvest mod cannot be placed on the raft, also not the well - anyone knowing how to fix this to also have your fields/garden with you on the Raft?
Btw: add sea animals mod to have your white shark ;-)

How did you get the fire on the raft? I was messing around in another seed to figure it out and I ended up going creative for a stone floor for the fire to sit on. I want a cheat free save though
You have two options
1) allow free build using valheim+ which will allow you build a fire on wood.
2) build on stone then replace stone with wood

No furnaces or smelters can be build on the raft
I have used this mod before, and there is a very real possibility of your raft corrupting.. Don't store anything important on it.. I had a massive fortress on the ocean, and a large portion became detached... I had a smaller boat, about 200 pieces total, and that one also had a large portion detach. It didn't seem to matter the size / distance of the pieces, it was just some sort of de-synch.
THAT BEING SAID... You're doing singleplayer.. So maybe that is less likely to happen to you?

when i used that mod and build a quite impressive house boat, everything went lost when i restarted my computer :/ now all the Ressources spent are gone
That's why you always backup your world before loading it up
what if sea serpent destroy the raft core? is the rest of building material still there?

Just letting you know: ValheimRAFT mod is still under "Planned Mods" in your mod list
I haven't played with this mod, but it seems to me that the sails have a "facing", at least, they're animated as such. And the ones you placed don't have the _same_ facing. They're slightly different. I have no idea if they contribute movement force according to their facing or not though. Did you experiment with changing them to face completely different directions and see if that changes how the raft performs?

The new update broke the mod. My boat was shrunk down to a 3x3 spot floating in the water. Lost everything.
How do you deal with Sea Serpents on a build like this? it would SUCK to build a nice mobile base then WHAMMO all destroyed thanks to your friendly neighborhood Sea Serpent!

Can you provide a link to you making it live? No one, no one I'm playing with can get this mod to work right. We all have tons of other mods working in harmony. This is the only mod giving problems. And I got a crew of 10 people trying to build. Be happy to conquer the world with you if you could give us just basic foundational crafting instructions we could take it from there. Followed all instructions to the letter. Both manual on Nexus with all dependence, and used a mod loader, again with all necessary dependencies. No go. I've reached out, no one can figure it out. Would owe you big for a walkthrough.
Same. Doesn't work correctly with loader out uninstalling and reinstalling and modding manually. Does work. You can build mid but doesn't do anything. Help if you get an answer

i cant play my mods with my friend and im triggred
The only thing is sad that you cant set spawnpoint on bed, well you can if you dont move it. As soon you move house, need to reset spawn point.
Btw if you didnt know, you can move up and down with raft mod too. Basically fly around map with your raft.
Same issue to previous comment. Tried everything we could think of doesn't work. Any help would make you a rock star. I really card about this mod. I want it to 😊 be my main base, so I don't have to make any others. Please help me. Nexus offerers no solutions and many on the forms there are having the same problems
