It's funny I don't remember seeing that sequence of lights on mk5 and up cars but what I see all the time is when I have a battery disconnected is the steering and abs light on and as soon I back out of the garage and have the wheels pointed strait ahead and I drive in first gears all lights go out I got before the light for the steering wheel no go out I had to do the steering angle basic setting routine if the sensor is ok that is do you get this message every time you remove a battery ?
+V10PDTDI every time you remove the battery, the lights light up and go out as soon as you start driving straight, because the system needs to initiate it self, after it did that the lights go out. if the battery was disconnected for a long time, the abs control module might forget the angle sensor basic settings, thats why you need to perform them, and sometimes the abs control module wants to perform the function test.

System function test is done without a scan tool. By driving... watch the video. And follow exactly.

You have to scan the car and see what codes you get.
The lights only mean that there is some sort of problem. What problem there is, you have to scan.
