- I just purchased a ramp and MAN......I needed it today, (saved the day). See why it's a great investment. I had an opportunity to work with a female independent contractor today on the Dolly app. Much respect, I don't see a lot of them out there. This was a slow week, but change is coming. Time to make moves.

You need to get you some kind of wench rigged up. Located as close to front as possible. Either hand or electric winding wench that will lower things like that down the ramp without them taking off and also roll them up the ramp.

About Safety: We all usually go with the "get it done" mentality, but when working with others, I wouldn't want them to get hurt. On that note, I'd never have anyone stand downhill of a load that heavy. The app probably didn't know how much that appliance weighed. That load might've warranted a more specialized delivery service with appliance equipment, but someone figured out how to save money using that app..
Yea, I'm all about getting it done, not afraid of any load. I'm not turning down an order like that, I will always find a way to get it done. I think we unloaded as safe as we could, Dolly, ratchet strap, I laid Dolly down on all 4 wheels and slow rolled it. My helper did a great job. All jobs come with risk of injury. We got it done.

Which Load board did you need the 1mil. policy? Will you be going out of state?
I don't remember what company I was signed up with, but pretty much all of the otr companies and dispatchers require the mil policy. I'm doing local only, no interstate.
What do you think about the Amazon relay deliveries?????
Never tried it, I think those are for box trucks, not cargo vans.

No, only 1 EIN per business.
Usually a sole proprietor will have "your name" as the business name BUT doing business as(D.B.A.)" Your company name" so anything related to business expenses in your personal name are still company expenses...

What about Auto Insurance? Do you need or is it possible to insure your Van under your Business?
Not sure what you mean. I have progressive. Only other option I know is to get insured under a dispatching company. That can be a cheaper option, but not too many companies like that.

Ford transit 150 is cheapest and has low roof, I like the 250. That's what I like, but any cargo van works.
