I do the boot thing on Illaoi pretty much, but not with magical footwear. Between spear, cleaver, hullbreaker, and ibg (for slowing) you are very fast.
Stride Hull Poppy, never tried that and I do have a bit too many games on her. is this the build that gets me to emerald?

Hey so the problem with magical footwear is that it heavily delays your boots power spike in lane, forcing you to receive them later than possible and killing off some of your snowball potential.
Especially on a champ like Darius, who seriously depends on having boots and higher ms to kill his opponents, could you still get Magical Footwear?
Magical Footwear + Time Warp Tonic (+5% ms) was the best combo back in the day.

The point of this type of video is to be useful for anyone from an iron player hearing it for the first time, to a challenger player to put more knowledge into what they maybe already do subconsciously. Glad it helped I will be making more!

Yes, though trynda needs berserkers so it's worth just upgrading. You can sell at fullbuild for phantom dancer though

I didn't quite understand the boots trick, specifically why it's a trick. The soft cap reduces the value of movespeed so you skip on tier 2 boots (which give flat movespeed) to increase the %movespeed from mythics and legendaries such as stride/trinity/hullbreaker/deadmans. But as a top laner the tier 2 options of plated caps (tabis) and merc treads provide insane value during skirmishes which enhance your overall durability, wouldn't that suggest that the boots trick only works in 'winning' lanes/game state?
I'll rephrase if my question seemed confusing (low elo aphelios enjoyer wondering why im not outrunning melee champs when i have galeforce)
Tabis will actually rarely (if ever) provide more tankiness than 2 ruby crystals, as well as the rubies allowing you to finish full items (your big spikes) faster.
@@kerberos_lol I'm not sure how youre calculating this. 2 ruby crystals increase your effective health by about lets say 10-15% mid game (2k to 3k health pre-purchase) assuming you are not vs %max health damage. Tabis give a flat 12% increased effective health vs basic attacks and the armor gives around 11% effective health vs physical damage (slightly less if you have an armor item/hullbreaker). So in most instances vs heavy physical damage and basic attacks tabis will give you more effective health while also synergizing better with non-health scaling healing and shielding. Thats not to say your tip is wrong but I think there are many instances where tabis make you tankier
@@iccysxrs I watch irelking and he talked about this boost thing. If enemy top and jungle are both ad or ap, then u should rush tier 2 boost. But if not both of them are, he will take the magical boost rune, so he can rush the power spike earlier.
Not to mention in the video, kerberos only suggest this tip for a few mentioned champions, the reference to aphelios is quite irrelevant
The boots comment, why not just get celerity instead of magical footwear? celerity gives 1% movespeed bonus which is between 3 and 4 movespeed + 7% speed effectiveness, does that effectiveness not work on the item movespeed passive boosts? If it does, it will match if not exceed the magical footwear. Even though footwear is 300 free gold , the celerity speed boost is potentially larger and in a skill tree where you can take nimbus cloak/ gathering storm instead of cdr

it's insane how like those players who release full 30-40 min gameplay educational videos don't provide enough knowledge to help the players improve,and then gigachad players of the top of the ladder appear and give some tips that seem simple enough but nobody have known about them and it just triples the value of those educational videos.Keep up the good work!
