For those of you who aren’t aware of who Grant Imahara is... he is a former MythBuster from the TV show “MythBusters." Now, he has taken up an interest in building his very own robot with his Tormach CNC mill, part by part until completion.
Starting with a manual machine that he purchased and wondering what his next transition would be to create his next robot project, Grant turned to his peers for feedback. He contemplated transitioning his manual mill into a CNC mill when his friends convinced him otherwise. He ended up getting the Tormach PCNC 770, and he is quickly picking up on how to make a robot of his own!
With the CNC machine, he is able to bring his ideas to life, and part by part bring a robot to life. He has the capability to cut prototypes of parts in minutes from any material he can get his hands on. With a prototype, he can then shift to making the real part to be utilized in his project.

Loved watching him. God bless.
It's still kind of hard to process. He was a wonderful, vibrant person.
Yep
RIP Grant. 😢
The light that shines on us all got a little dimmer when we lost Grant. Such an incredible mind we lost this year, RIP Mr. Imahara! 🙇🙏
We Love You Grant!!!!!❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
R.I.P.
RIP Grant…

RIP Grant Imahara
We miss you buddy, RIP...
RIP My Cousin .. When I 1st met you & your friend on Oahu I didn’t know who you were .. just a guy going to Japan to learn more about “Anime” & having a large “Emblem” on the back of your 90’s jacket with a rabbit, top hat & magic wand @ least you married a “Hot” chick.
Grant is freaking Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
RIP
im not gonna act like I knew this guy , cause I never watched mythbusters im just searching about him after his death . He seemed like a nice person though rip
Yup... Grant and Adam were the two I related most to on the show. Adam is a kid in an adult body and Grant is the one who can help fix or make anything, is totally aware of it, and plays it off for maximum coolness.
He was awesome
Interesting, watch it!
WOW... The luxury of buying a 25k machine to build a toy robot. Great video just wish you'd make things easier and cheaper to get them to the UK!
I know a guy with exactly that setup, same machine, with cabinet, and it was 16k landed into the UK (he added tool changer later though, so that does not include the ATC). He runs it all day every day. Nice little machine.
So what you're saying is with the ATC and the tooling you'd still be looking over 20K?
Jack Phillips yeah, total bargain. He made that 20k back in about six months. Great value machine
Buying this in Europe? I know it wasnt possible before
Come to find out he hardly ever used it.
RIP
