    9 out 11 starters are Barcelona players! They already have that style of play and the Spanish coach didn’t create that.

      Spain as a national team for both men and women has adopted this style of play for almost 20 years, with greater and lesser success, greater or lesser success, but since Luis Aragonés who introduced football from the school of Johan Cruyff and Rinus Michel, All the categories of the Spanish national team have this philosophy of play, and if Barcelona contributes more players, this style of play becomes easier basically because Barcelona has been used to playing this type of football for almost 40 years, always keeping in mind account the passage of time and the evolution that the sport itself is having. In addition, it can be said that normally the best players that Spain takes out are usually midfielders where Spain has great players and that they export to other leagues in Europe. So the best thing a coach can do is to know his players and have all the tactical means available so that they can develop their best game and in this Vilda has done very well.

      @@mazdakmina9493Ona never played for Barca, she just signed for them. Laia played for AC Milian until a few months ago. Sit down please. And Vilda was 100% correct in his tactics and substitutions. Haters are having a hard time and I love it. In the last two major tournaments before this one, Spain was knocked out by eventual winners (2019-WC, USA/ 2021 Euro host nation England). Never forget Mapi Leon horrible defence that helped England score the winner. In both games Spain played well. … Checking the team’s social media, cutting negativity agents from the squad helped a lot.

      @@HusseinDoha As someone who has followed this team for several years, I must tell you It's better to keep quiet when you don't know what you're talking about.You're only spreading misinformation.
      Ona played for Barça's B team for three years, and she has talked extensively in interviews about how she adopted their style of play, as well as her experience with later combining it with Manchester United's style (and becoming an even better player as a result). As for Laia Codina, she has been involved with Barça since 2014 (and still plays for them); she simply signed a one year loan deal with A.C. Milan in 2021.
      Anyone who has followed this team for longer than a week is well aware of all this. Your flawed assumptions can't simply make you an expert in a couple of days.
      Even if you disregard everything I just said, Vilda's "tactics" and clear lack of experience has been a source of controversy among followers of the sport for many years now.

      Why should Vilda leave? He achieved his target of winning a trophy and stood up against the trouble makers in the dressing room led by Mapi Leon who wanted to be in charge instead of him. @plusultra6199 no, the players left out brought professionalism and seriousness to the Spanish international women's team. Some of their requests had to be taken on board yet they were patronized and insulted. Because the Spanish football authorities and their supporters are backwards who did not see professional footballers but girls playing at football.
      Vilde got lucky because the players at last worked it out for themselves (the Barcelona influence). The celebrations should tell you that. He failed miserably at the previous 3 tournaments. Luckily for him his dad is....

      Luis Aragonés was treated very badly by the press because he did not call up Raúl, the Real Madrid player and we already know how much of a fan of Real Madrid the press is in Spain. Luis Aragonés decided to leave the national team just before the start of the 2008 Euro Cup because it was very difficult to continue, and Luis was a man of great character, winning the 2008 Euro Cup was not going to make him change his decision

    • @metalmouse2953
      @metalmouse2953 Před 9 měsíci +1

      You're missing one important piece of the puzzle there...Luis Aragones left because the FA had already hired Del Bosque as his replacement BEFORE the Eurocup. This with the hope of Luis' pride making him quit and hence satisfy the press and fandom that was pressing him as he took Raul out (among others). Luckily he stayed, won, left and started the cycle we all know.

    • @theobserver9479
      @theobserver9479 Před 9 měsíci +1

      That was the reason why the Federation thought of Vicente del Bosque. When someone from the press or from a certain circle doesn't want a coach, what they do is put pressure on them, throw people off their rope over the team, and create a stifling atmosphere, unbearable for any team, in this way the Federation looks forced to have to look for a replacement that is more to the liking of some specific ones and thus be able to reduce the pressure on the national team and thus allow the team to work in good conditions. It is not necessary to go back to 2006 or 2007, recently we have another case with Luis Enrique, to whom something very similar has been done. And this is something that also happens in football clubs. Luis Aragones went for not summoning Raúl, the Real Madrid player, and Luis Enrique's for being from FC Barcelona and not sympathizing with Real Madrid due to the rivalry that exists between the two clubs.

I know today's views have changed alot and I'm not condoning sexual assault or anything , please don't get me wrong, I'm saying I come from a Italian/ French / Greek background and everybody is affectionate and playful and expressive but nothing inappropriate was ever done. As a kid growing up I loved my uncles and family wrestling and playing and hugging me and the 20 minute tour around the room to say goodbye and be safe. Lots of hugging and kissing and we were all loud and nobody got offended. Believe me if anyone would have been inappropriate they would have has the whole family to deal with. Sometimes a kiss is a kiss and nothing more than affection and a expression of caring. Watch how he interacts with them , I think it was a cultural thing and I think it's been blown up because of the way times have changed. The western world has never been better for women than it is now , they have invaded Men’s football , they are getting support at every corner . But still they have to make it ONLY about what they want ???
    Let’s face it, as much and as far as they have come, ANYONE who thinks it will be get to the level of the men’s game is dreaming an impossible dream!
    The quality, the talent, the interest is not even close and before some muppet tells me I’m whatever ..
    I enjoyed the WC immensely! I think the women’s game is great to watch and has matured Incredibly in a very short time ..
    But when you see an under 15’s boys team beating ( the then ) current World champions ( USA ) but a cricket score margin then the reality should be clear to all ..

    Vilda should just step down and I think he will. He can retain his position as head of women's football in Spain, a position that he has largely been successful in if I may add. They can then appoint another coach. Appoint the best coach possible and Spain could dominate women's football for the next 10 years. Lastly, the players that quit should never be allowed back in the squad until they apologize. They have now realized they are replaceable and it is a privilege for them to represent the country not the other way round.

      I feel the team won because he wasn't a bad coach and wasn't sabotaging the team. There was grit and passion in their play. Something teams like US lacked. So either their nationalism is so strong that they played for the badge despite the coach or Vilda has his players on his side. Given England weren't less passionate or less well drilled, I think Spain were coached well enough by Vilda to outplay England. We seen in the men's game how loss of faith in a manager looks like. What I will say though, looking at it from the outside, the players don't really appear to have leverage in my eyes even though they won. The coach just proved that they can win the tournament without 12 of their past regulars (regardless of the coaches actual impact on their performance and win). It creates an argument (whether right or wrong) that the players can be replaced and the team can still compete. If the players want leverage, they may need to get the entire Spanish female player pool to say they are not interested in playing under him.
