- just sharing with you an other way to create water drop effect without using particles or fluid simulation, I used blender nodes and the procedural textures, what I like about this technique is that it is non-destructive, witch means you can change the water drop position and scale and also the speed of the animation as well.

@@Yacine3Dz thank you, you're very generous
thanks for being generous... learned a lot never knew bump map could work like this. I was banging my head all day around textures and couldn't come up with a decent result until now.
Another brilliant effect! a great way to add atmosphere to a scene; looking out a window, or rain on something like a car; or even Condensation on a glass!
Dude! This is absolutely brilliant! I was trying to put water trails on a high poly mesh for a still image & went down the rabbit hole of dynamic paint trails & all the rest of the tutorials seem to keep advocating! This is so much better! You are a genious & generous! Cheers mate!
just that world node setup is what deserves a like. Hella useful
thank you so much bro! Not only are you amazing at Blender, I can tell you are a very nice lad and also super generous. Subbed and looking forward for more tutorials!
Looks GREAT. Thanks for the technique.
Pretty amazing stuff, man. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
THANK YOU! I've been trying to do this for weeks now!
Insane tutorial, thank you so much ! Learned a lot
This looks amazing, bless you! (:
Astonishing, thank you! Will use it to cover my 3d girls with water drops 😄
Man of culture
Dirty mind
A great use indeed.
same, except i was gonna do it to
men 😳
only problem is you have to make sure all the UVs are pointed in the right direction, and the water droplets will only fall in the direction of the UVs, it won't respect gravity if your limbs are rotated in other directions
This was very helpful. Thank you.
Very kool! 🙏🏻
Really nice and awesome work !!!
Great tutorial mate. Thanks
Thanks for this!
loved the tutorial , keep it up !!
Great tutorial exactly what I needed thanks kho
You the best, man!
Finally I find this tutorial. Thank you brother
You're always welcome brother 😁
And thank you for your support, it means a lot.
Very helpful!
Very cool... It's been useful to me. Thanks.
Awesome tut!!
insane!
Thanks a lot...it really helped me
Thank you so much
Thank u very much!
Great job brother 💪
You are incredible brother ❤️ thankyou for making this tutorial 🙏
thank you , 😄
brilliant
Sir you are awesome. Thank you!
Thank u very much for supporting me
cool tuts, mann
Thank you so much!!
Great man! keep it up!!
Thank you so much for supporting me.
Great work! Works perfectly! At ~11:25 you do a subtract > add on those mixRGBs to keep the texture from translating, you can just use Linear Light instead and it'll affect without moving!
Thank you very much for the tip, I'll definitely try it out.
thanks a lot
finaly something that works with dynamic noise texture, maybe i suggest to some people that using metaballs with the particule instance work also very fine, the blobiness of the metaballs have the advantage to fusion in real time like real droplet, but it's maybe to heavy for a video game or real time stuff.
Subscribed ❤❤❤❤
thanks bro :)
Very nice on something you can use anywhere, but would be nicer if you zoomed out more to display the entire node tree once in awhile. Helps piece it together as you go along
thank u !
@Yacine3Dz mind blowing tutorial, thank you a lot!
thanks
A GOD
I'm just a human 😉
Thanks a lot!
You're most welcome
well done :D keep it up!
thanks
Tutorial is good but please cut out parts where you messed up instead of saying that you messed up. It's making everything harder
THX
u should show show this on a glass texture
Great video, but can I apply this work onto a diffrent object like water bottle that has image texture on it?
damn i loved both the tutorial and your accent 😍
thanks !
@@Yacine3Dz hey i finished it and it looks super cool. thanks a lot and take care. 😁
How do you give this a glass texture? I tried to do this myself but since the roughness is controlled by the ColorRamp I cannot just set the transmission to 1. How did you do it?
Can it be used for camera lens? It definitely need for some scebes)
Great tutorial thanks. This would work really well for something in the distance but the realism breaks down once you see the droplets are not interacting with the animated drops. In the real world those static drops would be picked up as soon as a falling drop connected with them.
agrees, but most of the time you won't be so close to an object to notes it, it really depends on the project that you are working on.
Чувак ты крут!
Nice Tutorial! I tried myself and used your file but if I cant change values in your shader
why i see like a viewer node over the top node material output. Some times looks like connected with the first color ramp, and seconds later i dont see any connect. Sorry, newbie here. Great video!!
Say, if I add pattern/grids/small channels on the surface of the ball, would the water drops be simulated according to the surface texture?
How we can put these drops in a object that already have a material with normal and roughness component?
Great work man really useful stuff! I will be using this for my window and I have a wiper animation is there a way so when the wiper goes across the window the water can be wiped off in segments?
Thanks, I'm glad this was useful for you.
I do think there is a way to make a wiper animation, u can use a mask, or maybe use dynamic paint modifier, I was planning to make a tutorial on this topic a long time ago, I'll think about uploading a tutorial this week hopefully.
@@Yacine3Dz if you could that would be really appreciable and would massively help guide me for my project I have only just started blender so very little knowledge of it just picking it up slowly as I go along.
TY for this tutorial! Drops so realistic!And..can we make drops on transperent material?Like - just drops on transperet ball?In our base color we can only use simple colors and textures. It's can help us do effect like this on meshes with
high-complex material, just doing transperent shape form
Yes you can use it in almost any materials.
I will demonstrate This in an other tutorial, god willing.
Really great stuff! One thing I'm wondering is how to combine these with another shader so the water droplets are clear and show on top of the other shader?
God willing, I will make a tutorial on this topic, very soon.
@@Yacine3Dz that would be awesome!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial. Just a quick question, the files provided are showing all layers in pink for me. Is there a plugin i need to download to see everything visible? Thank you!
Hi, I'm glade you liked the video. The pink color is caused because of the HDRI image was missing. I've uploaded a new file with the HDRI, check the description or this link:
drive.google.com/file/d/1txjrt2yOe_ACrEoRxhWL3Ya7Wg6sIHvB/view?usp=share_link
now the pink color should be gone
how can we coy the shad to our object
How do we apply this to other objects? I cannot seem to get it right
really awesome tutorial! but could you speed it up since it isn't a beginner tutorial
can you make something like... a cold drink summer day. The droplets are little different in it.. some very small and some big patchy type. and some drop trails..
i am trying to make it.. but i can't do it.
thanks
Not bad.
can i make it transparent liquid?
Hi Friend, I am trying to create drops on an opaque bottle as you show it in the video and I have a problem. The problem is how to mix the transparent drops and the non-transparent material of the bottle? My more experienced friend said that this is not correct and you need to make the drops as a separate object using particles. I don't know what to do ...
any way that this could be loopable?
First of all thanks for your effort? Got a question tho, why is the material in the blend file which you provided so pinkish?
Also how do I determine the direction of the rain flowing? Bc its going upwards on my objects haha
Thanks for the comment, the issue is due to the empty environment texture which u can find in the world settings, U can delete it or add your own HDRI image (360)
@@duzx4541 this depends on the UV island rotation, U can rotate in the UV editor until it matches or u can add a second UV map if U don't want to change your pervious UVs
I don't know why but whenever i plug noise texture in the height map it turns pink indicting no texture.Any one knows how to solve this
i know this video is a year old lol, but is there a way to change the color of the water drops?
around 2:44 you make a mysterious click on the color ramp node and it extends to a node that is out of view. What did you do?
I pressed Ctrl+Shift and clicked on the color ramp, this will preview the results of the color ramp node, but you need to enable node wrangler add-on. just go to Edit then Preferences then add-on and search for Node Wrangler.
I have a question, try to apply the material to a model that already had all its textures and reliefs with normal and everything but when I want to combine it overlaps me because of the base color it has, there is some way to make that base color translucent so that it does not affect the one I already have done
don't mix the tow materials, mix the bump-map and the normal-map with of the water drop material with the bump-map and normal-map of your material, if that makes sense.
I will try to make a tutorial about that, God willing.
@@Yacine3Dz just the bump map? How does it work?
It doesn’t work.... when I add the bump node is stays black and white
Thanks man ... i can feel you're not comfortable speaking english but keep at it and it'll get easier
He's pretty damned good right now!
Can you do this on glass material that has transparency and stuff?
Yes, it works in any material.
how do I stop bright, clipping reflections on the droplets! I've messed with specular, transmission roughnes, but I cant get rid of insanely bright highlights on the droplets (I don't want to lower the environment exposure level for the rest of the scene)
I'm not sure what's causing this, but make sure the bump node is set correctly.
is this happening only with a glass shader ?
@@Yacine3Dz it's refraction shader right now, that might be my issue, i'll try glass shader as well!
@@Yacine3Dz it looks like the bump map isn't the problem, just a bright HDRI, I managed to put a black plane to block the excessive light and made it invisible to the camera, that mostly did the trick!
do you know how can i change start and end frames for shader animations? the animation stops at 250th frame

@@Yacine3Dz its kinda different for materials i found how to do it myself but thanks anyway
You don’t have to giggle after every single sentence
can this be applied to skin? so it looks like my character is sweating?
Yes absolutely, it's probably the best way
@@Yacine3Dz awesome! Thanks so much for the tutorial and the blend files. It's exactly what I was looking for!
for the life of me i cant figure out why it wont show on my skin...is there a way i can contact you to show you my shader set up?
Hi there, u can send me an email at: yacine3dartist@gmail.com
Check if your UVs are set correctly, otherwise, u can send me your Skype, Facebook, viber or insta through email
@@Yacine3Dz thanks man! I will contact you tomorrow. I'm about to sleep
Is there a way to loop it? :)
tbh, I have no Idea, u can try to animate the texture by rotating it 360deg, so it makes a seamless loop, but I'm not really sure how good the results will be.
you can loop pretty much anything using this method
czcams.com/video/EYH9U22rN4Q/video.html
Nice! But it doesn´t work in cycles :(
... i did a mistake.. it works now.. :)... thanks excelent tutorial :)
What the hell did you do at 2:40??? It's making be angry that you didn't explain how that Viewer or Value or something node came out of nowhere when you clicked "Shift Ctrl Left"
You need to enable an addon called Node Wrangler, it comes with blender by default. U can search on CZcams to find more about the addon.
@@Yacine3Dz i did
It was good before...
damn this would be super helpful if u actually knew what you were doing.
thanks
