Maine Bobcat Hunt: It all Starts with a Track

This is a video of two friends heading out early into the Maine woods with there hounds in hopes of finding a fresh bobcat track.
Much to their surprise one of the first tracks they spot is a bobcat! This one track is a small cat but will still be great training for the pup, Angie and give everyone some exercise. Later this small cat crosses the path of a a much larger cat. Will the hounds sort this out? Will the day end with a cat in the tree?
The morning turns into afternoon and both the hounds and the hunters stay busy and hopeful. I hope you enjoy being along on the hunt and listening to the dialogue between two old hunting partners as they work to stay with their dogs and read the mind of this cunning old cat!

Your dog box reminds me of a long time ago when factory aluminum dog boxes came out.My hunting partner got one and l still had an old wooden one with leather hinges. We were hunting quail and my dogs were a lot better than his. At the end of season he said you need a 500 dollar dog and a 50 dollar dog box instead a 50 dollar dog and a 500 dollar dog box. I suspect that's your case. Enjoyed watching
Thank you Ray. Actually I have several dog boxes I use. The aluminum box is a duplicate of the wooden box. I use it when it’s not cold. The wooden box is warm for the dogs. The aluminum box is not.
I couldn't afford a 500 dollar dog box back in the 70 and 80. My old box had an ear more possum sign on it and another that said . When the tail gate drops the BS stops. Enjoyed watching

Subscribed. Looks like a blast esp in the winter snow...great way to enjoy nature and live the dream. Curious as to how many miles that cat logged before being treed if gps shows....? Anyway, cheers
GPS does show distance traveled. If my memory is correct approx 9 miles
The sad thing about these videos is that most of the young people today are walking into poles looking at their phones. I fed my family with a 22 during ww2 and every young person i knew had a 22. We took our rifles to school(rifle club) . There is nothing like the outdoors. GRIZ.
