A viewer asked me if I could play Smaland, because he knows it is powerful but can not make it work for the life of him. Now, I personally do not really play this ship ever, I just prefer having a smoke on my DDs but I do know what this thing can do so here it goes.

I struggle with the Smaland, I wanted the ship for about 2 years and now I play like a Baboon in it. Well played dude.
The name of the ship are actually written with 2 a, since its a European ship and well the rest of the world do not have the same keyboard. So the Å are written like this Smaaland. But most of us do understand either-way, so no offence 😉
In randoms you have to play it a bit like Halland so carefully and not rushing caps like crazy. Cos mostly there is x radar ships there. Smart players, if they know you're there, play closer to their big ships, so it's hard to kill those dds. You have to be patient and careful.

I don't have Smaland, regrettably I went for Alaska and missed out on the DD by a few weeks due to not enough FXP before it went. I hate playing against Smaland whichever DD I'm in and come out worse off most encounters in a one vs one. I prefer Torp boats so this is partly the problem so must get some of the newer gun boats and try them? Smaland IMO is OP though with that radar, speed and DPM combo. It's a shame so many can't get it now but still have to suffer against it.
How it wasn't banned for CBs is beyond me.

I absolutely hate this ship. I'm a DD main and I don't have this ship, so I pretty much can't queue into clan battles unless its disabled. It completely took over the competitive play meta

On NA server the BB and cruisers would be 4 lines behind the DD and hiding.
Try Harugumo vs Småland in 1v1 game. Could be fun.
Get someone you think is equal to you and do a best of five, then switch ships and go again.
i have both! if there is 1 vs 1 Harugumo will win anyday! keep in mind that with survivability expert haru start from 29.000+hp and when adrealine rush hit by % lost of hp is so bruntal! I play my haru with full gun boat build fearless browler & aa expert , she is a beast!

Great game. Comparing Haru and Småland is pointless as the only similarity is that they're focussed on guns. Targets and play style completely different. It's like comparing Yamato vs Schlieffen, who will win?
at least your team did kill some ships, last time around for me, i was the only one out of my entire team, who killed an enemy boat

It's the most irritating aspect of WOW : the feeling of imposed loss after the third salvo.
People saying "but Smaland has more DPM than Haru": Stop looking at spreadsheets. The volume of shells per volley favours Haru any day and night of the week. You need to remember that dispersion etc. is a big factor too, so more shells means more chance of hitting the target, resulting in overall more damage.

Yeah and Haru is slow as hell and is big as Titanic. How hard it can be to hit that? Smaland is DD hunter, haragumo smoke farmer...each has different role.
bro haru has 7k HP more and in a 1v1 smaland can only use 1 heal befoore the fight ends, haru also has more AP dpm and the effective HE dpm is higher aswell so haru wins the fight for sure@@vitezslavlorenc3479

Flambass' rant about subs but has no problem with Kitakami?
Kitakami torps run in straight lines and need to be fired from at least 7km for the ship to not get spotted - similar to a classic DD. Sub can spot you and fire torps from 2,5km and in case of meeting paths, it can simply dive and go under you without you ever knowing or noticing. That is the difference
@@siriusczech Who cares if torps run in straight lines when you can shoot 40 of them at either 12km or 20km also while undetected. Please.
@@AlphaFox38 I do. Because things like these you can mitigate with islands and based on detected/undetected mechanic.
Most MP games are this way. Theres some games you're destined to lose, some to win, some os based on your play. You gotta stop playing MP games if you want to get away from that.
