What a beautiful bowl out of a piece of scrape wood!
Thanks buddy
Beautiful work! Gorgeous wood and shape. Liked and Subbed!
Cheers David. Nice to have you along for the ride 👍🏻
your bowl looks like two wood spirits are peeking out. Nice job. glad i got to see it
Nice work Seth! ❤
Glad you didn't toss it, it's a keeper1
Yeah it really is a keeper. Thanks for following along Scott . Let me know what you think of my other pieces.
Lovely bowl. I was worried about that large split. But then you filled and glued it. Well done. Loads of character. I hope it does well for you.
Thanks Doug. Always nice to see your comments mate 😊
I like how one spot looks like a giant smile. I see that and think, "Why so serious?"
Beautiful 👍🏻
Perfection! ❤
Thank you
Nice bowl my friend, exactly how I like to turn, as a relative newcomer to turning I was wandering what grind you have on your gauge.thanks and subbed
Hi Garry, thanks for watching. My gouges are sharpened free hand but the angle is about 60-65 degrees. Thanks for watching.
Lovely Seth.
Nice video.
Take care.
Cheers, Huw
Hi huw. Thank you. Iv been enjoying some of your videos too. Thanks
Amazing character in that piece. You did a great job.
Thank you. Have you turned spalted beech before?
@@RedKiteWoodturning I turned a Beech with just a spot of spalting. One of my first bowls.
Thanks 👍 Great work.
Thank you. I appreciate you watching
Very nice - thank you for sharing.
Thanks Gordon
Nice work dude 🥰🥰
Thank you 🤩
I'm new to turning. Just curious what you're using for finish.
This piece was finished with pure tung oil.. how long have you been turning ?

How do you get such a deep depth of cut even with 3-4” of the tool off the post?
I wish I could give you an answer you would like but the only answer that is honest is.. practice.
The length over the tool rest is irrelevant what is important is the ratio of over hand to handle length.
@@RedKiteWoodturning I have a hard time with 1/8” cut without it catching, yours goes through like butter!
How long did it take you to get this good?
Ha, thanks. Iv been tuning for 22 years. Not sure there’s been any improvement in the last 15-18 years tho. Turning is fairly straightforward after you’ve learned the basics.
@RedKiteWoodturning thanx. Never done but I just bought a little one and I'm gonna give ot a try. Looks fun.
