- Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy isn’t worried one bit about his job security in Dallas even after an early playoff exit vs. San Francisco 49ers. In a media availability session yesterday, the Cowboys' coach felt confident about his future with the team, and went as far as to say 'I know how to win.' Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe answer if the Cowboys should bring back Mike McCarthy for a third season.

Poor Skip he wanted Mike McCarthy fired so bad the fact that he will be there for the 2022 - 2023 season is just making him sick but the Cowboys have GM problem more than a Head Coach problem. Jerry needs to hire a GM and step back from making all the decisions. McCarthy isn't a bad coach necessarily he just needs to take the reigns and actually do some coaching rather than delegating but Kellen Moore, Dak and the rest of the so called "stars" have a hand in the responsibility for the Cowboys early exit from the playoffs when the team fails to show up ready to play the players bear that responsibility they are grown men getting paid to play football. I don't buy the nervousness excuse McCarthy put forward it was simply the players did not show up when it counted.
Cowboys fans have been saying this for over 20 years. That’s never going to happen.

They aren't high school or college players they are pros who get paid to do a job and they need to show up and do their jobs no one should have to motivate you to do your job thats why your paid hundreds of thousands of dollars and in some cases millions to do. The Dallas Cowboys do not have a coaching problem as much as they have an Owner problem. Jerry Jones hit the lottery with Jimmy Johnson, he got the first decision right with Jimmy and every decision since then has been proven to be wrong. It’s too late. In about 2005 - 2010 that should have happened. They are what they are and Jerry ruined the Cowboys for Lombardi Trophies.
Every year the Cowboys falter with McCarthy as the head coach, (to be fair it partly McCarthys fault & partly Jones’ fault) Rodgers looks better for what he’s accomplished in Green Bay.
The Superbowl they won you can also thank Woodson and Howard Green who were both specialists in that defensive formation, losing Green to injury the next season was a big hit.

The only “signature win” for the Cowboys this season was week 6 against the Patriots They had an easy schedule. Anytime they faced any real threat, they took an L. Everybody got excited watching them beat up on the Eagles, Washington, Giants and Saints. Over-Hyped team in an awful division.
One could even make the argument that if they had faced the Patriots later in the season let’s say week 10 they probably wouldn’t have beaten them. Pats reeled off 7 straight at one point during the season

People have to remember they were 6-0 against the NFC Least. 6-5 against everyone else. 2-5 against teams that weren't terrible. And those 2 win the barely won. Wins is win thou. But it's not like they beat them soundly. They could have easily been 0-7 against the better teams they played. This team reminding me of last year Seattle 12-5 team. The record was far better than they actually were. Dallas really was a 7-win team maybe if they played in most any other division other than the 6 free wins, they got from the NFC Least.
The real sad truth is what Skip said in the beginning of his take the best game the Cowboys played was a week 1 to losing Tom Brady, it was their best game Because it was a back-and-forth game where they didn’t fall behind by 20 and all three units played well

There’s a big difference tho because the Jets and Falcons suck and are rebuilding. The cowboys have a star filled roster with some of the highest paid players at the position and get bounced in the first round again. They aren’t viewed as equal teams so they are treated differently

From 2014 to 2018, every season, for at least a few weeks, there was a conversation about the packers offense struggling. From 2015 through 2018, that conversation lasted more than half the season. How can an aaron rodgers led offense struggle? Jerry shoulda seen this coming with mike mccarthy
The cowboys can't even get their best rb(Pollard) on the field, and I blame Jerry for that. His ego, and wrongly overpaying for a rb was a poor decision. I was one of the few saying giving Zeke top dollar was a bad move. Unless you have a freak of nature like Adrian Peterson, or Derrick Henry, rbs can easily be replaced.
Their offensive line are old and overrated. They need to focus on fixing that in the draft/free agency. I also think they need to upgrade at linebacker. Vander Esch(sp) is slow as molasses, and unlike Sean Lee, he doesn't make it up in other areas. He's usually trailing a offensive player after they've gotten at least 5 yards, and seems to be out of position a lot. He's a backup lb, not a starter.
The only thing Jerry cares about is filling seats at AT&T stadium. He knows cowboy fans will come no matter what. When those seats are empty maybe, just maybe things will change. Until that happens, the cowboys will remain mediocre at best.
Like Skip is knowledgeable enough ti know who should be coach.

Mike's last 3 years in GB: In 2016, Packers made the NFC Chamhpionship but that team was bad. Rodgers literally had to carry that team there. Packers were actually doing good in 2017, but that was the season Rodgers broke his collarbone, then they fell apart. In 2018, that was the last straw since Rodgers played all season (although he was playing with a significant injury). Felt like the games the Packers won were in spite of Mike. You saw the drastic shift when LaFleur got there. Even though the Packers have yet to win a SB with LaFleur, the fact that he took over the same team that Mike had missing the playoffs 2 years in a row, 3 straight 13 win seasons goes to show Mike was the issue with the Packers
Be careful what you wish for, Skip. Quinn didn't get the Falcons to the Super Bowl, Shannahan did. As a matter of fact, it was Quinn's defense that couldn't stop Brady. And the slogans got old coupled w/ the losses.
