    One thing the Raptors have be aware of is their height. At the present time they are too short. Against many teams they seemed undersized. So when drafting and trading this has to be something they keep in mind. Example Kris Dunn at 6'3" no, no !

    • @stucazze
      @stucazze Před měsícem

      Because team 6’9 worked so well

    • @larryconley7305
      @larryconley7305 Před měsícem

      You're right, the propaganda around 6'9" was just that but teams like Orlando and Minnesota are big boys who are hard to deal without a big front court. These teams seem to be the future of the league and the teams the Raptors will have to deal with. I am sure there are others but those teams came to mind first. Watching the Raptor little guys like IQ, Trent and Brown trying to jump up while these bigger guys shoot over them made me cringe ! The Raptors also need toughness, a few Raptors with a mean streak !

      Agreed, i been skeptical of our team make up. I been saying we need a true PF for awhile now, not Scottie filling in. 1 IQ 2 RJ 3 Scottie 4 Real PF 5 Yak. If thats our line up we not small at all but GD seems to be too good to bench for years upon years too and GTJ seems to be allergic to coming off the bench. I am sure the team will look better in a year or two but Scottie at the 4 and Rj at the 3 leaves us too small IMO. Rj a massive two guard and Scottie massive 3 (muscle mass wise), should use that to our advantage

      Althought Kris Dunn isn't small at all for a back up Pg. He is an absolute hound on defence

      @@ScottieDPOYY That's why the Raptors could draft Tyler Smith at 19. He's basically Jabari Smith Jr. without the defense.

    I feel like with all the elite bigs in the West, there is a team that might trade for Poetl this off-season as a serviceable backup C to bang with KAT, Joker, AD (good for 6 fouls a game)....like Phoenix or Memphis. If we can move him for a contract with less years, that would be great.

    • @jeffreym.8957

      Shooting without defense is not good. Otherwise might as well get Matt Thomas back.
      How do you think Obi is defending on a poor defending Pacers team?

    I would like T Jones and Jalen Smith. If we could move B Brown and Chris B money for those two I think we would be much better from a balance of the roster. You could play KO and JS together and swap PF and C depending on matchups.

    Obi could be a good Pick up. But I am nit sure the Pacers will lose him so wishful thinking but probably wont happen. Tyus would not be the worst pickup as long as we are getting bigger elsewhere. How about impact defensive player should we not be focus on that being our team was not that great defensively?

    A lot is going to depend on what happens with that draft pick. Something tells me we are moving up to pick 4. God I hope I’m right. What an infusion of talent it would be to pick at 4 (even 6) / 19 and 31. I also believe that if there’s a player the raptors really like. They will try and move up from 19 to say 12-14. Kyle filipowski is a modern big. He’s basically a young Kelly olynik. He probably will never be an all star. But just a steady player that can do a bit of everything. I believe he will go between picks 10-16 And fits perfect with Scottie. But this is a deep draft for starter level players and 6th to 8th man. Even at 31 don’t be surprised if we get a good player. Maybe Ryan Dunn, Keyshawn George, ulrich chomche. Someone will be there at 31 for us

      Obi topping plays the same positions as jelly olynk. Yea you could run some line ups with them together but line ups will be very awkward with toppin Jakob and Kelly sharing minutes never mind if we draft a young Center.
      Obi toppin has been one of the pacers best contributors especially in the playoffs if you’ve been watching their games. There’s games they would have lost without him. He’s also way better than Boucher that’s kinda insulting. The dude did a between the legs dunk on a fast break in a playoff game and shoots 40% from 3. Knicks miss this guy.
      Pacers will have trouble retaining him because they’ll be flirting with first/second apron to retain him if he gets around 20mil which is pretty common for athletic stretch forwards.

    Okoro can be a starter and likely will end up on a contract less then GTJr, more in the Olynyk range. He's a past top 5 pick who has been developing well and fits the timeline of BBQ, he can play the 3 or 4, plays D, and won't be a high volume shooter (which the Raptors are already going to have 2 or 3 guys starting who take a lot of shots). I liked Dunn but he's now over 30 yrs old, can't shoot, and has an injury history. Raptors should take another Dunn in the 2nd round of the draft, another D guy. Tyus Jones is going to get more $$ then he's actually worth and I hope it's not with the Raptors.

    @benrogers free agents dont come to toronto., and to get a tyus jones or an obi toppin to come to toronto you would have to really overpay. nba players dont give toronto discounts, raptors have to overpay by 20-30 percent to get guys on the downside of their career to come. and by overpay, look how much they had to pay someone like a thad young who was washed to play 2 years in toronto, like 7 million a year. tyus and obi probably want to stay on winning teams and will get paid, so raptors looking at 20-25 milloin a year for tyus and obi?

    Not excited about any of these guys. The Raptors are a lottery team and adding a decent veteran role player doesn’t move the needle. They need to use their cap space to allow teams to salary dump and obtain draft picks, not make incremental improvements to a 25 win team.

      @@ScottieDPOYY The Raptors need to take some big swings, and grabbing low ceiling veterans isn’t going to help with that. When you win 25 games, your #1 priority should be adding young talent, not filling positional needs with veterans.

    • @ScottieDPOYY
      @ScottieDPOYY Před měsícem

      @@highdough2712 Agreed, minus Dunn. I talking a cheap back up PG who doesn't require multiple years. Having the guys grow in mediocrety vs dumpster fire is my only point. We would need to clean up some roster spots to make that viable though as we do need some big swings for sure. You don't want a team full of big swings either and we got 3 drafts incoming, thats your big swings. Honestly now that I considering how we have boucher, mcdaniels and such on the roster with GTJ and B Brown looming it won't work. Dunn though is exactly what we need in another sense. OKC is a massive outlier and to be honest I surprised you said that with a straight face lol. We going to ignore 75 years of history because of a team with MVP caliber guard leading the ship? Its on Masai to cook, fleece some people even for draft equity on some of our guys and get them on new teams or simply let them walk
