PLEASE READ!!! Just to make something Clear. Yes MOST people have probably seen these reactions before. I’m making montage videos for EVERY method I’ve done over 6 years of shiny hunting. Since I have been using the Dexnav as of recent I thought it would be fun to start with Dexnav. I’d like the montage videos to have at least 25 or 50 reactions in one video. So if I’m slacking in a certain method as I make more montage videos it’s forcing me to pick up one of these shiny hunting methods and get some NEW shiny Pokémon to fill in the gaps for montage videos. The fun part of this style of video is putting ONLY 1 method of shiny
Hunting in the video and make it the main focus. Since I’ve made content for 6 years I have a lot of clips to work with. At the end of the day I’ll have more montage videos over time and it will be specific to certain shiny hunting :) This will make more sense once you all start seeing more montage videos coming soon! ALSO I bleep out all swearing because it was a BIG complainant over the years. Since these clips are old I used to swear A LOT. So it’s a tiny difference watching this than the original videos that have been on youtube for years. Think of it as a better way to see my content all organized in one long video and more friendly to all ages because no HEAVY use of curse words 👍

@SMK : I got the Shiny Charm in Pokémon Y four days ago! I started in 2014. I barely got into again due to my family moving place to place including Hurricane Michael. I actually completed the National Pokédex! I was so excited! You actually inspired me to ‘Dex Nav, and to complete my National Pokédex! The GTS and Wonder Trade helped a lot! Thank you my dude! Did you have the shiny charm for these? Because you got these REALLY fast. I'm doing DexNav without the shiny charm because it's too much work to get it in ORAS😂 Currently at 900 DexNav encounters for Porygon, hope it shines soon.

Yeah Dexnav with no charm was 500-1,000+ encounters when I played on a different copy of ORAS. It’s still a great method because 1/512 with NO charm
I don't have the shiny charm and I actually have pretty good luck. I mean horde hunting is a easy way to get more search levels and as smk said, 1/512 at 999 search level is still amazing shiny odds
But we all have different luck tbh
Samii search level does help but I’ve had crazy luck with Dexnav with low search levels as well. It’s just a super fun method to use. Just keep trying :)

I've been doing DexNav on a new file (so no charm, obviously) and been REALLY FRUSTRATED because Nobody on this EARTH seems to know how the shiny odds actually work. Found a Poochyena on 61 encounters and a Shroomish on 596, and I've been really confused because people kept saying you need a chain (I didn't chain for either) so I didn't know if I was doing it right this entire time and just had crazy good luck lol. After this video I'm 100% willing to believe that its flat odds. 414 into Marill rn
It is flat odds 1/512 or 1/200 with charm and you don’t have to chain for a shiny. You can run away 👍

So does chaining in Dexnav matter for shiny hunting or no? I keep seeing conflicting views
These are OLD clips but chains don’t matter. Search level and shiny charm are best factors. Chains “can help” but not required at all to get shiny Pokémon
however, bulpapedia says otherwise about chaining, and i don't think the charm affects dexnav odds, its kinda similar to pokeradar/chain fishing where after 40 chained encounters the odds are increased
@@blackkyurem9813 100% The Shiny Charm Helps. Chain do and Don't help shiny odds. The difference between Pokeradar is you NEED a Chain for Shiny Pokemon. For Dexnav you DO NOT need a chain for shiny pokemon to show up. Chain or no Chain you will at some point get a Shiny Pokemon. How do I know this? I've done dexnav hunting for 6 years.
@@SmkGaming05 so as long as its done through this method then its a flat rate chance? which also means regardless of how high the search level is, the odds can only be achieved through the dexnav method right? (even if the search lvl is 999 done through hordes)

@@blackkyurem9813 1/200 with charm. Search Level can help but I have NO idea the amount that it does. Dexnav is a Flat rate overall. A lot of time I've dexnaved for a Shiny Pokemon I would encounter every pokemon that showed up on the dexnav to keep things going. A lot of those times I would get a shiny at random lol. So just make sure you use repels and dexnav away until you get a shiny pokemon.

The main thing that effects shiny odds the most is “search level” and shiny charm 👍
Little late but i felt pure anger seeing you get ralts in 43 when im at 450 and still no luck lol
To make you feel better I went for a shiny Ralts on a new playthrough within the last year and I had a max search level of 999 just to get a shiny Ralts again. This one from the video was just really lucky 😅

@@turnoffthedark268 it can yeah. The main thing with dexnav is search level and shiny charm that really help with finding a shiny. When you KO Pokemon to build a chain it only helps at 50 or 100 in a row. After 100 you won’t get extra shiny chances. So get to 100 KO in a row and then leave area or heal your Pokemon. The other option is just dexnav and run away take some steps and search again with dexnav

When your Pokémon runs out of pp can u swap a new one up front without the chain breaking ?
yeah you can do that no problem. Also breaking a chain doesn't hurt you shiny chances. Chain or no chain you always have good shiny odds because that's how the dexnav works :)

Potential for Perfect Stats or IVS. It has nothing to do with shiny chance

Back then the Dexnav info wasn’t solid. It was my own findings of things I noticed. Now we have solid information and Chaining only helps at 50 and 100 in a row. You get extra shiny rolls at 50 and 100. Dexnav is mainly the search level and shiny charm help the most when it gives you a shiny ✨
