"Millennial is an age group, not a mindset." Thank you Dave for this statement, I have been trying to explain this in 1000 words or less for 2 years!!
I'm a millennial and I work 300 hours a month. Six figure incomes are hard earned, not given freely. "Be the change you want to see."
My daughter is a midwife, makes 100k a year and is 28. She worked hard and smart.
Z generation are worst
@@alexgg7499 How so?
Yes, the the baby boomers were exactly like millennials at their age. A Hipster in 2015 is a Hippie in 1965. It's a variant of the same thing in a different time.
Jay-Z spends $91K whole worlds knows what liquor he drank. That's $91k for a very successful promotion.
@Thomas Borisov Hey, good business. Buy your own product, and tip generously

I see a lot of people complaining about the percentage letâs be honest the wait did no more work bringing in 40 dollar bottles and 300 dollar bottles in. I know itâs tradition and good manners and Iâm not implying the waiter didnât work hard, but does the 40 dollar waiter deserve the tip any less than the 300 dollar one. Maybe theyâre servers or whatever not waiters still point remains. I feel like at a ludicrous amount like 90k 10k is generous regardless of percentages
Exacly what I was thinking.
Confession: Any time I get the urge to spend my money on something stupid I come and listen to Dave Ramsey, and feel guilty so I donât buy anything anymore.

My dad said to me when a got out of school. A car is to get you from here to there. It is not a investment. A hoopty car is a lot more carefree. You can park next to the shopping cart rack. You can go for months without washing it. Insurance is lower in cost. I am a millionaire but still drive a hoopty because they are a lot less work.

I am a Muslim from the UK and I love listening to Daveâs content. Our health care is pretty pricey. Insurance sometimes doesn't cover it or they didn't have it.

Small correction:
A person like Jay-Z who makes $42,000,000 a year and spending $100,000 on a bar tab in one night would be likened to someone making $420,000 a year and spending $1,000 in a night, not $100. Yet still, that happens all the time. Itâs also likened to someone making $42,000 a year and spending $100 on a night out, which also happens ALL THE TIME. Love Dave Ramsey, just a small correction.
That's not a small mistake, especially when you're talking about money.
@@1080lights not a small mistake but same concept. Even at $100 for someone making $42,000 thatâs not going to break the bank if itâs only for special occasions and youâre not drowning in debt.
Also, majority of the tabs were paying his own brand of liquor. So⊠heâs actually saving money while looking super good!
Thanks for that @Paulserna. I kept thinking I was crazy cause I didnât get the same number. Completely agree that spending at the same ratio at lower incomes is not uncommon.

This would actually be someone who makes $42,000/year spending $100 in one night. No big deal. And he got some marketing out of it. You're awesome, Dave!
Ryan Duke yeah Dave missed a zero on the math, but that's still only .2% of his yr income.
Excellent analogy. It's all relative based on your income and worth.
I assume with the free press he got for his line of drinks, he made that money back right away
@@Am-Not-Jarvis Absolutely, and what's wholesale price? Say %50 of the cost, so roughly %50 of that bill is already going back to him by the replacement of his own product. So he really only spent about 50-60k, or 0.12% of his income.
Funny thing is that looking at expenditure/income ratio doesn't even tell the whole story about how potentially insignificant $100k is to someone who makes $42M. In practical terms, it's almost immeasurably insignificant compared to a person making $42k spending $100 because there's such a universe-sized disparity in raw disposable income between to the two. To someone bringing home $42k/yr, losing $10k to a bad investment might be pretty crippling and set them back years on their goals.A loss like that could mean no family vacation or no new car that was on the horizon. On the other hand, while a $10M personal loss would still be devastating even to someone bringing home $42M/yr, they still have 32M reasons why their lifestyle or medium-term financial outlook probably won't take any practical hit. Plus, they have the resources to make that money back if they so choose. Someone making $42k/yr and who just lost $10k probably doesn't begin to have that kind of buffer, relatively speaking.
