    "Integrity" ... Having worked as an I.T. consultant for more than 40 years now, I can ABSOLUTELY correlate that point. I look at the people that I dealt with who had it, and they did well, and those who didn't have it flamed out, despite the 'Bible on the lobby table' and other such intentional indicators. That is such a key point.
    And Taxes: My accountant always says: "I hate paying taxes, but the fact that you have to means you are making money. The alternative is much worse!"

    Social Media unfortunately is the plague on peoples minds in terms of thinking you are not living life properly. Living within your means is about all you need to become rich. So glad the first guy called and got the Ramsey special. That’s the problem. I paid my way through 9 years of college and came out debt free with a high paying job and I didn’t expect ANYONE to pay ANYTHING for me. I think because I was raised that way and my parents and grandparents saw that was my mindset they felt good about helping from time to time when my car was broke down or I needed an extra room to stay in because I didn’t want to sign a new lease in a bad area when I was almost there in terms of success. Young people are killing us. They’re bleeding us because they don’t care AT ALL to use our money but you wait. I follow the DR show and I agree with most of his teachings, and he has taught me much. But I think he is wrong about credit cards. I pay my balance in full each month. What is wrong with getting rewards of 2 to 5% for each purchase? Also, credit cards make life much easier and safer than carrying a wallet full of money. One more thing why would I drive a 20-year-old car, when I could buy a new car every 4 or 5 years with the latest technology and safety features? I do save and spent sensibly so I could afford these luxuries.

    I just want to comment on some of the FarmVille stuff. I see a lot of older people that laugh and joke when people buy things in games and spend real money, but what isn’t talked about is at the end of the day it’s entertainment. So spending $20 on a game item or skin or whatever is no different than spending that same $20 on a movie ticket. Both way you have nothing physical to show for it. You either have a memory of a movie or you have a fantasy item which at the end of the day neither of them help you out in any real life situation. But I do agree with Dave where like anything this can become a problem and people can get too wrapped up in what they have in game and forget that it’s not real but I think that’s the 1% extreme of gamers.

Doesn't he realize that Uncle Sam takes a big chunk of your income!!! Maybe I've heard wrong! Can someone confirm that he says 15% of Goss Income? It makes more sense if it's 15% of what one NETS.

      Yes it's 15% of your gross income because that 15% comes out pre-tax, that is, before uncle Sam touches it. This lowers your taxable income for the year. You wouldn't want it coming out after taxes! Google an investment calculator and you will see.

I think he made that up to try to throw a wrench in anybody getting student loan debt relief because that's one of the main topics that they're having as to Y they did not want to pass it because they felt like most of the people would waste the money that they were forgiven.

    First caller: I saw so it and get the car. Gov is so corrupt they have millions in off short accounts from deals with other countries, they forget where trillions of tax payer money went. The citizens get jack for all the taxes we pay, so if you can a measily car out the deal, get it. Why should the poor be the only ones stomped into the ground for not having integrity?

    Is taking the tax payer’s money to pay off a student loan really that different from using real-estate loopholes to reduce your tax burden?
    The first caller isn’t suggesting something illegal, just like loopholes aren’t illegal.

    • @canhope1821
      @canhope1821 Před 5 měsíci

      Actually it is illegal. Student loans are only for use to pay costs directly related to school - tuition, housing and books - not cars. The loan agreements state this very clearly.

    The first rant against the guy who wanted to take out a student loan to possibly get $10k. He goes on and on how that’s wrong, but then admits he tries to pay as little taxes as possible, legally. So “he can sleep at night”. What is illegal about what the student was considering? I’m not even saying he should do it, but Dave has double standards here. He probably saves millions every year from tax loopholes. Which ones are biblical and just while a $10k student loan forgiveness is evil and immoral?
    Again, not saying the student should do it as it’s not in the spirit of what student loan forgiveness is for. But let’s not sit here and pretend multi-millionaires and billionaires don’t take advantage of every single tax loophole money can buy.

    • @FrenchCruller03

      It's illegal because they specifically say that you're not allowed to use student loan money for non-student related expenses. A car is not a student expense, it's an asset.

      You don’t see a difference between the two?
      In one scenario, someone is borrowing someone else’s money they didn’t earn, then putting it on the government’s bill in hopes that tax-payers will take care of it and he gets a free car in the process.
      In the other scenario, someone tries to keep the most amount of the money THEY earned as possible that the government then takes to use to write off the debt of someone scamming the system for a new car as opposed to an education.
