  • Used a Metra harness with a Kia Sportage factory amp and under the seat subwoofer. It did not work. I had to figure out the correct wire to turn the factory amp on. In this video I explain which one it is.

This video got my brain spinning for a 2009 kia rondo install. I had the EAXCT same issue from a Metra wiring harness where the remote line was in the incorrect place causing the car factory amplifier to not power on. After I t-clipped the the line that was actually getting power, the amp powered up immediately and I got sound. Very disappointed with the wiring harness from the factory however. This caused me HOURS of wasted time 😤😤. Thanks for posting this!

I had to use the cigarette lighter for the red acc. It works, but I've been getting parasitic battery drain so I'm testing the alternator today just in case

Probably supposed to use the Pac harness module..... They are like $80.... Radios on newer cars wont let us use the $12 Metra harness anymore because they are controlled by the computer. I just had this same issue on a 2008 Liberty. Even more expensive if it control AC and stuff, you have to buy the I Data link bs for 200 bucks.

Im having the same or a similar problem with a 2006 kia sportage but I'm confused because my wiring harness looks different. So far I hooked up everything to the proper wire, however, there were some extra coming out of the kia so I connected them to a big ground wire off the harness. The radio still has no power, so I started testing the cables for power and none of the red ones gave me power and the power cable says its red in the manual. The only wire I've been able to get power from is the ACC which I thought maybe was power cable all along, so I connected it to the pioneer radio power source wire and still nothing, so I am not sure what to do.

Every year is different. Just look at the harness that's in the SUV and connect the aftermarket harness to it. The red should go to a wire and the yellow on the aftermarket harness should also connect to another wire on the factory harness side. Test those two first. If they have power make sure that they are at 12 volt. Sometimes you can have power but not enough. Also make sure you check your fuses. It is very common to blow those, so I would start there.

I've read that the pink wire (which is the one you spliced I think) is actually the antenna amplifier on a 2006 Sedona with the rear glass antenna.
