I just received mine, put it on the charger for 24 hours and when I wanted to try it, I thought it didn't work. I thought the green lights going up while making a peeping sound, meant the toothbrush wasn't charged correctly. When it is switched on and put back on the charger, a red light starts flashing. So I ended up writing Emmi-dent with a video attached saying the toothbrush didn't work. Wish I had seen this video first 😬
Any chance you can do a follow-up review using plaque disclosing tablets to see if plaque was actually being removed ultrasonically? Since there is no brushing motion required, this type of toothbrush might be a good option for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
Maybe Oral B might create a series 11 with a tooth surface pacer too. There's would be for each tooth surface separately.
2:41 The reason why the brush head should be replaced every 3 months is that the bristles become softer over time and the ultrasound can no longer be transmitted ideally. At least that's what the instructions say. I have been using Emmi-Dent for many years now and am very satisfied. Now that the battery on my metallic model is no longer good and the switch-on button no longer works reliably, I have switched to the Platinum and am very satisfied! But did you really not mention that Emmi-Dent requires its own tooth paste? You cannot use it with a regular tooth paste!
I stumbled on this review by accident. I'm a bit confused about why you didn't try to test if it acually works for example with disclosing tablets? If it does work, this is revolutionary technology, is it not? This also seems like technology to make brushing less of a nuisance with no noise, less laborious with having to reach every nook and cranny and probably more economical not wearing out brush heads constantly - so surprised you're not giving it more praise.
Could you address the question of toothbrush color. I am trying to decide whether to get a black or white electric toothbrush (probably the IO 9). I am not concerned about the aesthetics of the brush itself. The black does look cooler. But I am thinking the black would be easier to keep clean from excess toothpaste, while the white will be easier to keep clean from mold or other dirt. Any thoughts?
I think there is some logic in what you are saying. I think mold would be more obvious on the white color and toothpaste on the black.
Toothpaste is still fairly noticeable on the white brush though.
It's ultimately personal opinion. If I had to pick, I would probably opt for white, as more brush heads come in white color. If you want the heads to match in black, you can't always get them.

Would you recommend the io series 6 at 70$ (brand new)
Or a genius x limited w 3 heads at 70$ also brand new
Tough one to be honest. Although the iO Series 6 costs a touch more long term because of the iO replacement brush heads being more expensive, I would say at $70 the Series 6 is worth going for. It's a nicer brush to use.
But ultimately both will clean the teeth comparably.
