His establishing character moment is so perfect. Right out the gate you can see that he has a great deal of confidence and self love, but he also doesn’t hesitate to thank the coaches and compliment Sam. He understands the importance of lifting up and appreciating others, which immediately sets him apart from Jamie.
It’s one of my favorite character introductions of all time.

Cristo has succeeded in Dani Rojas' marketing goal. He brings joy. I love this show so much.
That last "Futbol is Life" is so deep and well delivered. It wasn't expressed with the usual spunk and energy he normally portrays but gives it a heavier tone. Just when you thought you had two of the best aces, life will always throw you a curve. Love the show.

I ran out of the garage chanting my own name and did circles in the driveway emulating this character. I walked up to my wife and instead of her telling me to take the striker position, she handed me the garbage. We both laughed so hard. As a previous poster stated, this character's happiness is infectious.
Rather weird it took a bunch of Americans to make possibly the greatest soccer/football show ever put on a TV screen.

@@eltiburon2796 the problem with that happening in America Is most of our talent is developed when they're young in middle and high school. And in america guys will play either Football Basket ball or baseball.
Theres just not that many young men playing soccer so we dont see a lot of super talented players developing.
On the other hand in America one of the top sports for girls in school is soccer so we see a lot more talent development which leads to a higher quality player.

Ngl, when I first heard about this character, I thought he was gonna be a gag character, who'd come in, get injured and leave again and again, BUT MAN, WHEN YOU CAME IN SINGING YOUR OWN THEME SONG, I WAS WISHING I WAS WRONG, I got so scared when he did get injured because I was afraid what I said had come true, BUT MAN WHEN HE CAME BACK, I DO NOT THINK I'VE REACHED THAT LEVEL OF HAPPINESS AND HYPE FROM A SHOW IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, can't wait to see you in series two ❤️

What I love about this character is he exemplifies what I try to tell my kids, and people who work for me: attitude is everything. Having a positive attitude is the most important trait you can have. It's your attitude, not your aptitude that determines your altitude.
You can have all the natural born talent in the world. If you're a piece of shit, no one will want to work/live with you.

Towards the end of a series that I loved SO much and not thinking that it could get any better enter Dani Rojas. He had me from the moment he entered taking a show that was already funny, touching and filled with life lessons to another level. All of Dani’s scenes are pretty amazing but the scene when Ted and Coach are having a moment of “what do we do” Dani sticks his head in and says “Coach. Football is life!” 4 words and a smiling face that brings Ted back to his own core values reminding him of what it’s all about for him. Thank you Dani Rojas for all of the joy and all of the moments that you make me smile and tear up at the same time. And thank you Cristo Fernandez. Will love watching your career.
0:58 is such an underrated moment. Dani just has so much damn love for the game.
Two absolutely brilliant parts about Rojas's scenes. Using the FIFA theme for his first appearance was an inspired way to instill a familiar feeling of excitement and anticipation to anybody who's a soccer fan. Then that last "Futbol is life" really hit deeply, as before it's easy to assume he means football is the most important thing in life, whereas he's really trying to say this game we play, this profession we've chosen, it contains all the joys and pitfalls and myriad complexities of life, and that is something we must accept as we accept life itself for what it is.

I've played soccer my whole life and only after Ted Lasso is over did I start watching lol. I started watching mid-season when I saw my parents were watching it, and as soon as I saw Dani Rojas on screen I was like damn, that's me. Football is life, thank you Cristo ✊️

THE MOST AMAZING KICK EVER!! I seriously rewound & watched that kick at least 15 times when I first saw the episode & probably 10 times now on this video! LOL what an amazing feat of athleticism, and not only that, but the look of intense concentration on your face as you look to connect with the ball - wow! Amazing to have such athletic skills as well as your heartwarming acting skills.
Oh come now my friend Gary did the same thing in an indoor game once in real play. Mind you even the other team was bowing to him afterwards.

Since I saw Dani, I immediately liked his character. I saw a little of me in him, especially being someone with ADHD who could sometimes be too much for other people, but Dani, he didn't care, and that meant so much for me. In my opinion, Dani definitely has ADHD, not just because of me, of course, but because he has some traits, like Hyperatived (he's moving all the time, and it's very common for people with ADHD to be good at sports since helps them regulate their brains), strong emotional (when he accidentally kills a dog in one of the games, he's world just collapses. And also the strong joy felling), some sensorial sensibility (the whole funeral shoe thing) and his hyper fixation with football (football is life). Dani being read as someone with ADHD is extraordinary for an entire community of people, and also really big for ADHD kids, who can realize their hyper fixation on football and their dream to become a player, it's not something silly.

Just noticed a brilliant little aspect of the scene where Dani and Jamie are competing against each other. At first, Jamie is calm, happy and confident and he hits the crossbar (or post) every time. The first time Jamie looks angered and annoyed that Dani is keeping up with him, Jamie misses.
