    Great videos. Thank you for the field test. I know how much time and effort these take. You should do one more on cutting the foam disks! Or maybe experiment with disk sizes and spacing. Thanks again!

    great video, finally a video with lots of testiings and hard facts / measurements.
    Did you test the effect of a wider supressor, like 40mm diameter vs a 30mm?
    Have you tested scotch brite instead of acustic foam? Many ppl recommend this material.

    Great test. So does it mean that a high density foam is better to suppress? Maybe you can also test scotch brite mods 🙂

    Very nice job. Ordered the foam that was the quietest but dunno how to cut it. How did you do it? Also saw you first video but this technic def doesn work on the quietest foam. Would be nice if you have any advice.

      Did the same thing where i mashed the suppressor on the foam. Took a while to do! You could also use a a soldering gun

    I'm curious if you repeated this test on a calmer day, and moved the mic away about 10-15 feet and avoiding as much of the piston/engine noise clacking.

    This is kinda off topic, but how did you "move the threads" deeper inside the short supressor?
    Can this be done with other supressors?

    • @airsoftconnor
      @airsoftconnor  Před 2 lety +2

      So the suppressor I used has an end cap on each side that can unscrew, which has the holes for 14mm and -14mm. I took the end cap for the -14mm that fits on my m4 and grinded off the threads that screws into the main tube. That way it can fit deeper inside the tube. Then I just used Jb weld on the end cap and stuck it inside the tube to where it covers my outer barrel. You should be able to it to others if their not solid pieces
      I hoped that helped!

    You should try the novritsch modular suppressor, it has a better foam design. It make my Lancer tatical Gen 3 silent. Without it it's the loudest gun out of everyone I play with

    Yeah, but WHERE are you getting the threaded metal tubes with removable end caps!? Almost NONE of US Airsoft stores are carrying mock Suppressors that have removable end caps! They are all welded or glued on and nothing works to remove them. I've found sellers in China, BUT the shipping costs is higher than the metal tubes! BTW my designed "shorty" silencer (110cm x 3.5cm) only gets 52db and that is on a Crosman Bushmaster M4 CO2 500fps BB Rifle with a 7" barrel. I use alternating thickness (ID) foam, but not from sheets like you use. I "hot wire" cut my foam. I can cut all the inserts for a 255mm silencer in less than a minute.

    • @airsoftconnor

      Evike their matrix brand has both endcaps that can be removed

    • @vintageguitarz1
      @vintageguitarz1 Před 9 měsíci

      @@airsoftconnor I stopped ordering anything from Evike, they're a bunch of liars and crooked. They claim they shipped orders and a week or MORE later UPS or the USPS finally actually receives the package for shipping! Evike has literally lied that it was shipped, UPS just isn't scanning it, and I called UPS and was told that was a lie, they ALWAYS scan on receipt of any shipment. I'm ordering some open-cell high density foam in tubes the correct OD for tubes and pre hollow centers of two different ID's. Then I cut the tubes with a "hot wire" I built.
