- This is my first attempt at a tutorial, so I'm sorry if it kinda stinks:) I'll try to do better next time!
A few people asked if I'd do a tutorial on the pocket-pages from my Simple Stories Baby Steps mini-album, so here it is and I hope you're able to follow my ramblings... - Zábava
Thanks so much, it was a fabulous tutorial. You have inspired me to finally after watching hundreds of videos to start putting together a album. I even used my sewing machine which I swore I would never touch. You are a great inspiration.
Thank you so much for posting this. I've watched it many times trying to remember everything. I think your video style is excellent! Please don't take this down. We are so grateful to you for your time and sharing with us.
Great tutorial, Cathy! I always wondered how the experts put the magnets in the albums. Now I know! I'm going to try my hand at it today. Thanks for sharing with us. I love your work--please continue to show us his you make your wonderful pages.

You are so precise and detail-oriented - plus your hands are pretty-great tutorial, Would love to see more ideas. :-)
Thank you for this video. It has given me the idea to use A4 paper sizes which is the size mostly used here in the UK.
Well done... It is a clear easy to follow video.
This is a GREAT tutorial rather than a bad one! Hoping to see many more! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Diane! First attempt and I only wish I hadn't gone out of frame so much:)

Hi Kathy~ This was a GREAT video. It's exactly what I wanted to learn how to do!! I am so excited now that I can start on my first mini. I know I have a lot to learn but thanks to the gals like you, I won't have too many problems finding someone to learn from. Thanks again. And you have a new sub. ;)

thanks so much! I also like how it gives an alternative to using paperbags or regular envelopes when you want something that's a little bit sturdier. thanks for watching!
I loved it and made along with you. Thanks for sharing!
I thought you did a great job. Your voice is calming, you explain everything well and don't add a lot of extraneous chatter.
Very thorough tutorial for your first attempt. Thanks for sharing.
This video was GREAT! I'm a visual learner so this helped me so much! Thank you for sharing. ;0)

I must admit I was so confused at the beginning and was going to watch it as long as it takes until I get it but when I saw you put it together I understood what you were doing. thank you for simplifying it I like this better than the paper bag (I DON'T like paper bag)lol ♥♥
Love your video. I am a new subscriber! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!!

I really enjoyed this video clip, learnt a lot! Thanks for sharing! :-)
it was not bad at all your video...super instructions and your are so good in teaching how to do the pocket page...big thumbs up to you ;)
was a great tutorial.love how it came out
Didn't write down dimensions, so will go back and review. I heard you perfectly and was able to follow your excellent directions. Think I would open the closed end to use in a hinged binding and might want to alter a couple of these pocket pages for variety. Thanks.
Great video. Very clear instructions. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I will have to see the album. This page is great! :)
Great tutorial! Am going to use this! Thanks for sharing!
Very easy to follow, wish there was a full tutorial especially for attaching to binding. Beautiful page
The tut was very easy to understand. This helped me alot...Thanks!
Thank you! That's great to hear:)
Thank you for tutorial. Easy to follow instructions. Will be sure to make.
This is for a 6x6 mini, but you could adjust the measurements to make a smaller square page or even a small policy envelope type page.
I actually pulled this video awhile back due to poor sound and going out of frame, but I had a lot of requests to put it back in again. Sorry you didn't enjoy it:)
awesome tutorial. it wasn't bad at all. very well done, and you have a nice voice which was comfortable :-)
I'm sorry you think this was a "bad" tutorial because I learned how to do something pretty amazing! It was VERY instructional and I appreciate you sharing!!!
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I really appreciate your comments:)
Thank you! These pages are designed to be used with a binding machine like the Cinch or Bind-it-All or just simply punch a few holes along the side and use the large rings:)
What a nice pocket page! Where can I see how the rest of the album would look like? I really want to make one using this method, was so easy to understand, couldn't believe it was your first time. Wow. Nice job. Keep it up!
Your tutorial was great.....thanks!
Thanks so much Barbara! I use a hidden hinge system that I designed to work with the solid covers and spine and it's available in my Etsy shop(SoMuchScrap). All of my non-spiral bound albums are hand-constructed of cardstock, chipboard, and papers (and strong adhesive!) Hope that answers your questions:) Cathy
You did great on the tutorial. Thanks.
Great page. I am curious though how do you attach this to the hinge when it doesn't have an opening to do so?
Thank you, Sharon! I really appreciate it:) This type of page is designed for a spiral or ring binding. I forgot to mention that in the video:)
thank you! For the pages like these I use either the Bind-it-All or Cinch to bind them or you could punch a few holes and make it a ring-bound album. For most of my other minis I use a hidden-hinge system and change the page design to fit that. I have those binding tutorials in my Etsy shop (SoMuchScrap). Hope that helps:)
Good Job on your first video.. I learned a lot..
I thought for a first tutorial it was pretty good. Easy to follow and clear instructions. My one constructive criticism would be to move the camera so that you are fully in frame while giving instruction. I would love to see a project finished with these pages, if you have one. Thanks for the inspiration!
great work, thanks so much. You are so helpful
Thank you Elsa! I use the small BasicGrey magnets that come with adhesive on the one side. You can usually find them on eBay and Amazon. hth:)
thank you! I've put off doing any tutorials until now because I knew it was going to be a lot harder than other vids. Yep, it was!
Awesome tutorial I loved it. Tnx
I think you did really well for a first-time video, and I very much enjoyed it. Your precise measurements and attention to detail are perfect for great instruction, and the video is very well paced by your pleasant voice. My only constructive criticism is for you to speak up a bit louder as I had trouble hearing you. I have some BG magnets and have been wanting to create a pocket-type page, so your content here is exactly what I needed! Keep up the great work! Cheers... :)
Thanks Jane! I really need to get a better camera setup before I do more tutorial vids! I make about 4-6 of these pages and then bind them with a Bind-it-All or Cinch.
Very good tutorial. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing....great idea!!!
thank you! Glad it was easy to follow:)
Thank you! Glad you liked it:)
Great tutorial!! Thanks
Thanks! I use the Basic Grey small magnetic discs, but they're currently very hard to find and the stores I've bought them from in the past are now out of stock. An alternative would be K&J Magnetix online. They sell various sizes and the BG ones are 3/8"diameter by 1/32" thick. You can buy these in bulk and the price is comparable to BG, but there's no adhesive on the back of these and their shipping rates are pretty high. I will probably order from them in the future when I run out!
Awesome Job!!
TFS!
Jen :0)
Pls do not put ur self down. The vid was great, u were great, and the project was great as well as beautiful. TFS...
Yay! Glad you liked it! Have fun:)
Thanks Cher! I really appreciate it:)
Sarah what dimension you use for binding? Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial I love, love, love it and excited to make one.
Very good! Where do you find the magnets with the sticky back and could you put several of these together to form an album of many pocket pages. thanks
Good tutorial, a little out of focus at times but still managed to get the instructions out. Also where can I find those little magnets?
Thank you! You can usually find the small BasicGrey magnets on eBay and Amazon:)
Great tutorial ^_^ May I know where can I buy the magnet that shown here? The ones I got from Michaels are very thick. Thanks!
I really think you make very beautiful mini albums! Did I miss the part about what type of binding you use? Keep sharing your work with us! Thank you! :)
This was a great tutorial! I am new to making albums and need really clear instructions. I've been looking for a good 6x6 pattern for a while so that I can use my 6x6 paper pads. Do you have a binding tutorial?ThanksTammy. Gallagher
Thanks Gina! Hope you have fun:)
Thanks Julie!
What a wonderful tutorial! tfs
DM
Great tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing. I was wondering where you get your small magnets? I have search some of the craft websites and can't seem to find them. Thanks again for the tutorial.
I think the tutorial is good. Thank you very much for the magnet hide ;)
I like your tutorial. Just a question. How can I do to avoid finger print on black paper?
Thank for share..
Thank you for this simplistic video. Shows everything worth doing doesn't have to be difficult! You have a new subscriber. Please, keep 'em coming!
great vid but a bit confused with your 1st scoring was it half an inch or one and a half inches (we use metric now) love your vid its great thanks so much for sharing
Your tutorial was just fine. Thanx
loved it thank you
Thank you! What size mini would you use this for?
Love your tutorial and the use of the magnets on the flaps. What type of a binding system do you use when you don't do the bind it all and do you have a tutorial on that binding. One more que tion... What and where do you get the material for you non cinched bindings?
Hi Kathy
First I have to say I love your work and the fact that you do larger albums. My question is after you made this page what system did you use to attach it to the album? Did you just glue this page to a larger page?
