Chelsea were completely dominated by Barcelona in possession and in chances created. They were lucky to lose 0-1 at the Bridge.
First half there were moments where Chelsea won most physical battles, but Barcelona corrected that 2nd half by staying away from the battles by moving the ball well.
The Dazn English commentators were making a lot of excuses for Chelsea in the last 10minutes of the game. They should show a bit more reflective view on the game instead of showing their bias for an English side.
The commentary was horrendous. Same as in the Lyon game. When the ref gave that bogus penalty for that Lauren James dive they were all over the place with joy

This is Champions League, every team that has reach here has to be taken into account. In the end, details decided the outcome from this match, even if Barcelona found themselves in the 2nd half, controlled the ball and set the match in Chelsea's half of the field.
While this result may seem short for most of Barcelona fans, it puts a foot and a quarter in the finals. Camp Nou's factor has been an important factor, not only has Barcelona Femení won EVERY match there by important margins, they won every match ther by a 3+ difference, even stomping Wolfsburg 5-1 last year. Both a solid defense and and effective offense will be important for both teams if they want to go to Eindhoven, Chelsea has the quality in their players to be able to extract gold with little while Barcelona will have the control of the ball and the capacity of being constantly generating danger.
Yes, they are in the game still….but the amount of toying the Barca did away, will only increase at home. At least there wasn’t the usual reference to how many titles they have won, to help explain the defeat ( as in the Arsenal defeat in the Conti cup). Yes they have injuries like most teams this late in the season but they being Chelsea, with all their titles and budget….no excuses for lacking quality depth. Barca plays with beauty to behold

I think because teams have been pressing us high and preventing us from playing from the back like we normally do. What we need to do is have a leader on the field, preferably the keeper, to change the game up a bit. If we are given room play from the back and if we are pressed high, send the ball over. And if we do, we should at least win the ball in the air. We don't have pacey players, but I believe we have smart players. We did too much ball watching and not much man marking. If we have to get anything from the second leg, we need to play smarter and faster when we are in possession and more aggressive out of possession.

Chelsea is a Great team. Barcelona is a scary team. that's for sure, but don't under estimate Chelsea. It is a Top team. Not easy to play against them. They are technically and fisically Top. Barcelona had to move the ball quickly because every time that a Barça player had the ball, they were covered by 2 o 3 chelsea players, and at the moment chelsea recovered the ball, they played long in whitch they're very very good. That's why there were too many wrong passes.

@@erssey6168 I agree. But I think Giraldez as everyone, expected to watch James in the starting 11. Maybe the plan was being not to agressive in order to avoid allow any goal. Plus, I've seen so many games at Stanford Bridge, and it's the 1st time that the public were so quiet. People were present but they didn't push so much. That kind of support turns the matches lil' bit crazy and fisical. And Chelsea girls are really strong with that type od game. That was strange to me. It looked like a funeral.
Anyway, Barça got a good result which is what they were looking for. And Camp Nou is gonna be tough for Chelsea.
Girls gave it a good go , but there is a big gulf in class , they will be awesome at home in front of 90,000 .But I am sure the girls will give a good account of themselves .

In the return game, if Chelsea wants to have any chance of advancing to the final, it is very important to not concede a goal in the first half.

I know we played barca, but that was an awful performance. Brexit and hot potato football we played against Barcelona. Also allowing LJ to play as a striker and not a winger so she can show her talent was a disgrace. With the talent barca have, we ain't getting nothing from the second leg and that's the truth of it.

But what kept Chelsea outside the group of these 3 giants is they also perform in every season at CL. Which you don't see with Chelsea I'll say i was quite disappointed that it's too easy for barca to win away game so comfortably against a big team like Chelsea ( our away from is not quite good in cl)

@@Tchafsir without Kirby and Harder they have pretty much relied on Kerr, and to a lesser extent Reiten. Against most teams that's ok, against a Barca...James can't defend so she only works sometimes. It's tricky
