      This might be more about how Brinkley specs their frames. I had a chance to see several Brinkley frames and they were built incredibly robust. Thumbs up to them for that!

      @BigTruckBigRV wouldn't it be fair to say that it would benefit any frame given the results?
      Even if brinkley does have better built frames than others. They say in the video only changing the pin box out from a standard one dramatically decreased the stress.

      Yes! Our dealer did not use the GenY required bolts to install ours. They used the standard hitch bolts and we didn’t realize it until after we towed it over 500 miles.

    A little confused by the data. Hertz is a measure of frequency, but to measure the vibration/impact forces into the trailer/tow vehicle via accelerometer shouldn't you be looking at amplitude such as the g's or measurement of actual force? Hertz could help understand the order at which the force or noise is amplified but I don't see it being the final measure of impact reduction? Also, I'm reading the majority of the data, which is related to trailer impact forces (not so much transfer to tow vehicle aka the GenY) to suggest that the trailer suspension and in this case the sumo springs, to have had the primary factor to reducing the trailer impact and wear(?) btw good job sourcing Link Engineering. We use them a lot for automotive DV evals.
    I'm all for a cushioned pin box, run a goosebox myself, just didn't really see data show that factors effect.

    • @GENYHITCH
      @GENYHITCH  Před 5 měsíci +4

      Good comment and knowledge shared. Amplitude was also measured and it had a huge impact. While discussing with the engineers in order to create this video, the graph that showed amplitude was not explained as much, so it ended up not being included. But based on this comment it definitely would have cleared that up! All the suspension systems tested had a sizable effect on amplitude versus the control. This video was meant to be a way of sharing all the results in a way for everyone to understand, but we will look into if we have permission to release the whole report. However the actual wording in the conclusion of the report made by third party engineers is “The largest acceleration change is attributed to the GEN-Y pinbox regardless of EQ setup.”

    • @GENYHITCH
      @GENYHITCH  Před 5 měsíci +4

      GEN-Y EXECUTIVE comes standard on the Model G but can easily be added to any Brinkley models, including the Z3100. We have a great partnership with Brinkley. As for Sumo springs, Brinkley would be who to ask when wondering if other products are approved by them. Their models have some sort of suspension system, but I would reach out to them for each model's specifics

      We currently don't have a copy of the test results available for everyone to view, however nearly every page of the report is used in the video. And the pages seen in the video are directly exported from the report, so all numbers, graphs, testing procedures are the actual reporting data. @@RamblinRoadies Sorry for the confusion, the MorRyde product that was tested was their equalizers. We wanted to share all the test pages as is and unedited but the labels should have had a little more information. This testing by Brinkley was comparing various suspension systems, so our pin box was tested against a normal factory pin box but not against any competitor pin boxes.

    Interesting that there is no mention of one of Gen-Y's major competitor - the Reese Goosebox. So - just another bogus comparison from someone thinking they did us all a favor. FOUL!

    • @GENYHITCH
      @GENYHITCH  Před 5 měsíci +5

      Our GEN-Y pin box was tested against a standard factory pin box, not other competitor aftermarket pin boxes. Our pin box making a huge difference in the amount of vibration and frame chatter vs a normal pin box proves the usefulness of the product. The other products in the testing were various equalizers. The engineers at Brinkley did this testing to find out which equalizer setup would provide the best towing experience and keep their units on the road the longest. The GEN-Y EXECUTIVE performed VERY well, which is one reason why it comes standard on the Brinkley Model G.
