      Lip syncing to the music of Los Lobos, no other band could've done Ritchie justice like they did! RIP to the "Three Stars" sung about so beautifully by Buddy's good friend Eddie Cochran ❤❤

    I remember when I was a little kid my mom would play this movie, it was probably the first 50s rock n roll song I ever heard. Ever since I’ve always loved 50s music. I was born in 96

    Richie Havens Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper we're all killed in a plane crash in 1963. The song American Pie by Don McLean is supposed to be about this

      WHAT? Ritchie VALENS not Havens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper were killed in a plane crash in 1959 NOT 1963. Get your facts straight.

    Richie Valens was killed in a helicopter crash with The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly. They were leaving a concert at the surf ballroom in clear lake, Iowa. Don McLean's song, American Pie, is written about the tragedy 😢.

    I've seen this movie multiple times. All his songs were fire. It' sad he left us so early in his career and so young. RIP. Other Come on, let's go, Donna, We belong together, Ooh, my head, That's my little Suzie, an Boney-Moronie.

    You should watch the movie 'La Bamba' starring Lou Diamond Phillips as Ritchie Valens. He did a fantastic job of portraying Ritchie. I grew up listening to music from the 50's (I was born in '61 - rocking 60 yrs old now!!). I just love rock-n-roll. Taught my son the love of rock too. When he was a teen he would tell me & his dad to "turn it down" when we would start jamming with the stereo. LOL. Now he's a musician and artist himself. I so enjoy watching those of you from the younger generations discover & fall in love with the music I grew up with. Keep on Rockin!

    The sad thing was Ritchie Valens hated flying and didn’t want to go on the plane but was going to take a bus I believe to there next gig. But went on the plane by a coin toss.

    • @markgabriel5797
      @markgabriel5797 Před 2 lety +2

      Little known fact: Waylon Jennings was the bass player in Buddy Holly's band. From what I have been told Waylon is the guy who actually lost the coin toss to Ritchie. The last time. Waylon Jennings remembered talking to Buddy Holly, the frontman was chiding him for chickening out of the plane ride. "I hope your damn bus freezes up again," Holly said, smiling. Jennings replied with the words that haunted him for years: "Well, I hope your ol' plane crashes."
      Makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up, doesn't it?

    "Fake Richey" is Lou Diamond Phillips. You probably know him from other stuff, but I couldn't tell ya what he's been in in the past 20 years, because I gave up on keeping track of TV and the movies about then.

  • @kathieovercash8414
    @kathieovercash8414 Před rokem +1

    Ritchie was sick so Waylon Jennings gave up his seat on the plane and he took the long bus ride home. He lived with terrible survivors remorse.
