First time I saw one of your videos. I have drove for 47 years. O/O for 38 years. One of first things I learned, NEVER EVER LET someone else drive your truck for you. Behind the wheel you are totally responsible, not no dispatcher, or even an owner. You can't stay awake, park it, there are other jobs, not other lives. Inform your boss or company, but you and only you are responsible.

I worked for Old Dominion freight as dock lead for 3 years and they offered me the opertunity to go through their driving program. And the first thing our instructor told us who was also our areas safety guy was.....YOU are the captain of YOUR truck. If you don't feel something is safe its your decision . if your tired stop for a nap or break. Don't do anything you are not comfortable doing. They O/D would rather you be late or make other arrangements than be involved in or create a accident. It's something I've always used and it has helped me along the way

I used to work for a concrete pumping company that also did frac. I was a yard hand at the time. Was moving a truck to get loaded and backed over a pallet of calcium chloride. That was the big laugh for a couple of days (even had the owner joking about it). I was called Crash lol.

All companies NEED DRIVERS like there is no tomorrow... they don't need people to complain and set the record straight... that is why the huge turn over of truckers... but not to worry, you loose some, then get some, there are so many well paying trucker jobs out there that if you ever get fired from one there is a very big chance you'll be hired by another, even a better one... Switch companies like toilet paper, that is the best option to find the one you will be satisfied or happy with!!! Never think that the first truck job you get will be the one you'll retire with, always be ahead of their game with better or different options. Make a career out of trucking by learning not to pay attention to all the corporate bullying... the moment they threaten you just be firm and be ready to walk. I bet you you can find a job within less than 24 hours!

When you want a contract with a company to truck for them, make good agreements with them on paper, like a minimum of milage per week or month, and get payd the minimum milage agreed. Even when you drove zero milage you must been payd. Your cost of the lease contract every month for the truck, insurance etc. must be paid.
Good agreements on paper can avoid a lot of problems in future.

Haha good one but, everyone should know that on a frac location the sand trucks will never come near the well. Also, sorry to hear about your trucking dilemma I've had the same experiences working for abusive oilfield companies. Anywhere from working 19 hour days for a whole month to having to haul trailers without license plates or lights. Some people are greedy and want whatever it takes from their employees to get the job done. I believe on your other video they wanted you to risk your life and lives of others just so you can make $200 I'm guessing. It's that attitude that messes things up so my advice is to just avoid these industries. A lot of these jobs are acting like they're a large team but you have to look out for yourself and sometimes the best thing to do is abandon your "team" because it's not a team if you're the only player.

Abe, you've got to start asking questions and finding out the information that you need and that will take your career where you want before you sign on the line. Your going to get yourself labeled as a job hopper and that will make it hard for you to land a good driving position. Do your research brother and good luck.

Hope you're hanging in there bro, 1 year on. I have left more than one company under a cloud and know what it's like having to explain this shit to prospective employers. Many seem to enjoy rubbing your nose in it. Keep at it there's always a way...

Is this what we are down to in the truck driving community? Are there such few men/women available that companies resort to a "Do you want fries with that" person. He talks about being fired which most companies will rather have you quit in order not to pay unemployment compensation.

Hey Abe are you from Grand Rapids? I am from Allegan. And in my opinion a good company in Grand Rapids to lease onto is Par Logistics. They are a very good company and pay very well.

That's not hard to understand at all. And beyond what rainbow said, you may also be socially unable to connect even if you happened to be around people.
