Another great show. This might be the best thing to happen for drag racing in a while. Courtney's an awesome addition this week. I will say the folks at Elite are fantastic people. We drove from TN to pick up a trailer from them last year and they treated us like we were family. Erica took time out of her day to hang for a few minutes and we got a full-on race shop tour. Richard really does cuss more than any human I've ever been around. Keep up the great show Shake and Bakers.

Totally agree about the record debate. Conditions during testing are nothing like competition. When you're testing, You can throw everything at it without consequence.(Other than mechanical failure) Whereas in competition, Priority #1 is to beat the guy in the other lane. You can't take unnecessary risks. A dominant car in the field is highly unlikely to turn it up when they are consistently covering the field. That's why "Buy's and competition Buy's" are a big deal. Not only does it get you through that round but it unties your hands to throw whatever you want at it without consequence, like testing.
I hate that I missed the live again but I absolutely love that y'all are doing this!

I was watching some videos on Lyle's run at Lights Out 8 and noticed he was paired up with the Shocker. I did some looking and I was surprised ole Kyle Kelley himself ran RvW. He got put out by the pocket midget 1st rd but made the show. Also at that race was NPK himself Ryan Martin and also Reaper. All 3 made the field and none made it past 2nd rd. Ryan qualified good in 6th I believe. Either way they were in the man's backyard and didn't have anything for him. That's #1 and #2 in NPK.
Im not a Ryan fan at all, but the dude is good. If he decided to switch to RvW or Pro Mod, he would run with the elite of the class. He's that good and he's got a great team with the best in the business backing him.
@@easye9-21 I am 99.9% sure that he was way below 3000 lbs when he ran RvW. I never said that him and his team wasn't good. They dominate NPK. NPK has started changing points payouts to try to get someone to knock him off, kinda like Nascar did JImmie Johnson when he was dominating Nascar. All they have to do is allow Stevie and/or Lyle to run and there would be a new No Prep King.
@@haterbilt9428 All the got to do is build a car and come compete in futures for a bit and they will get their chance. Ryan's Fireball car was super heavy. If it was under 3000 pounds, it wasnt by much.

@Shay Earl . C mon.? If you don't know, Odom had a meltdown about some guy that was being announced as a NPK racer that was actually a "futures" racer. Bully BS.
@@shayearl2369 it is STILL up on Odom racings youtube channel, about 5 months back he confronted Marty Robertson and even the track announcer with an ego trip tirade saying he and Howe were the only street outlaws that were racing at that event. It was just embarrassing. Lyle brought it up at about the 23 minute mark of tonight’s podcast. I do not know why Odom kept the video up on CZcams, I lost ALL respect for Odom and his money.
That meltdown he had was on purpose for drama he even said so Himself and I am not a John Odom fan

The part Lyle said about the fans thinking they are fastest, I heard so much about that before Import vs Domestic about how no Import could touch the NPK guys. Yet all 3 got put on the trailers by Imports, fans watch a TV show and instantly just think they know every about the sport.

I wish you guys would take a swing at NPK. I'm a fan of drivers in SO and NHRA but I just can't get into watching a NHRA event. Whether you guys ran to the top of NPK or got your asses kicked it would be entertaining to watch.

These gentleman won't say it but I will, going from racing a car to bring a spectator is like kicking herion I'm sure. This is addictive, no ex heroin addict will go watch everyone at the drug house do it and just watch. This is why you don't really see many racers back at the track once they stop racing unless they are helping on a car or announcing. Once you get that feeling you don't want to go watch everyone else get off and you leave with blue balls! That's truth! Love y'all, love the show!
