Great tips! Thanks so much. Another tip to avoid boredom in a composition: morph the timbre, volume or other characteristics of sustained notes or chords over time using MIDI controls or other methods. Maybe you have already made a video about how to do this, or you plan to do so in the future.
Thanks for presenting this in a structured way - techniques which a lot of us use instinctively but it’s useful when itemised like this. I’m just starting out in ambient composition and production and I think my tracks “Drifting” and “Quinque” (over on my channel) utilise nearly all of them somewhere 😊. I think one of your chip tune tracks was in 7/4?
Brilliant!!! Fantastic!!! Love it!!! Thanks for this one!
So glad you liked it, thank you 👍
This is a treasure trove of fantastic ideas and advice and a great reference for us all! Thanks, Ian - Cheers!!
Glad you liked it, thanks Matt 👍
We have few teachings on CZcams about composition. Thank you very much Ian for his teachings.
Happy you found it useful, thank you 😊

Hi Paul - Yes indeed, I think many musicians do these things instinctively. Thanks for checking it out 👍
Future Shock is partly in 7/4 😊
