I got a BE mini and was VERY surprised at how it FELT like a tube amp. The response, the harmonics, the way the volume knob interacted with the gain was awesome for a SS amp. That being said, it sounded muffled like all SS amps. It still sounded pretty good IMO but it just doesnt have "THE" sound.
Very nice piece there. I'm using a Hotone Mojo Diamond head into a 12" Celesion cabinet and trying to get this same tone. I know there are better Hotone heads for this but I just use my pedalboard with 3 modded drives for harder gain sounds. These little amps are so much fun compared to pulling out my Boogie or pro tube Twin. When I want big tube drive I got it but for a nice medium volume drive this little Fender Tweed copy works with just enough gain and tone.

I saw Phillip McKnight demo it yesterday and he did a great job showing this little .5 watt amp's capabilities as well. I know for sure it's going to blow up and be hard to get now so, I am hoping they can find a way to keep the price where it's at and get more orders out. I feel like this thing is a long time coming with all the tube lovers in the world that rarely need anything louder than what can fill a small room. Thanks for the demo and the remarkable riffing!

well ...I've to say that this tiny beast sounds really good and I like it...yeah that fabolous 80' sound ...and Pete knows for sure how to "drive" his fingers to make it shine :-)
It's got that quite bright and present thing. Not always fun to play unaccompanied, but you can hear it in the mix and it works. I do that dialling in noodle tones a lot. Then it does not work with bass and drums. I have to keep remembering why. A good example of the Marshall tone's cut is solos in most NWOBHM stuff. So much cut and almost too much treble and snarling bite until you grow to like the genre, but it's great. This little amp would do it.
Oh yeah, modded JCM800 for days! Excellent pricing as well. A third the price of most boutique gear like this. Use the preamp out into a 50W power amp and cab and it makes for a great live rig too. Or, preamp out into an IR loader and you have a great direct in solution too. Then spend 30 years learning how to play like Pete Thorn and you can sound like this lol

I have the "red" version (black face) its my main home amp. I really like it remember speakers matter so im using a 12" eminence red coat but can see how an american voiced speaker could add lows if you want

I'm going to advocate for demoing amps on this channel (unless there's some sort of contract against it). One great example of someone that demos "the competition" is JHS. Almost every week he features a competitor on his channel and yet his own company has only grown by leaps and bounds, all while making the pedals in his home town instead of overseas.
Damn Pete this is seriously killer! I was thinking of grabbing a Mini BE but I’m really feeling this a lot more! It’s like having a real Plexi at a quarter of the size & extremely functional

The music as always is great. When I listen in phones to the guitar out of the mix, there seems to be a bit of “weight” missing to my ears. It’s subtle, so maybe it’s my ears and not the amp. It comes across almost as a digital model or an “amp channel” pedal. It’s not as apparent on some settings. In the mix, it’s indistinguishable from a bigger amp. It would make a great practice/low volume tracking amp. Definitely a great design.

I do not like that BE mini at all it was a real disappointment.I prefer the Marshall DSL 20 in every way. Here comes the hate from the BE mini fans!😧

I’ve built a couple very low wattage amps that used a 12AX/T/U7 as a power tube.
They’re a lot of fun, especially with a 4x12” cab.

Sounds really big with lots of control over the tone. Very nice. The only thing I would want would be a cage around the tubes.
