    Sure thing. If you want as similar size to the HS1250 that is going to be more stable and recover from breaches and venting better than the 1250, then go for the MA1000. The MA1225 will feel bigger and not as quick rail to rail as the HS1250. Hope that helps🤙

    Thank You Matt, I've followed you for I think 20 years since my first weeks of kiting. Now I'm finally jumping in the Wingfoil thing after 10 years of kite foiling. Thinking of a 1750 huge 2nd hand Armstrong foil, but after a few weeks getting this 1225 MA. Wish me luck, Amigo

      Working on it. They are very controlled and have a great blend of turning and glide. The MA are my go to foils right now. Really impressed with the pump. Coming off the HA is tough as they have so much glide but I haven’t had an issue connecting with the MA

    Hi Matt, thank you so much for all the good content. For someone that is starting to prone foil would you recommend the HS1250 or MA1000? I have both and am struggling quite a bit to learn, although I am an intermediate prone surfer, and have decided that I am going to use the MA1000 but maybe is not the right choice for this early stage?
    Thanks in advance for any tips

    Hey Matt, You have the best reviews! Thanks for all the details. I wing with the HA925 with HA195 tail in all conditions. I do love it but it would be nice to have something with lower stall speeds and easier pumping. Thinking it would make tacks, and downwind swell riding, less effort. Im not really grasping how these foils compare to HA. Would the MA1000 be comparable to the HA925? Or are they just completely different deal?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem

      Thanks🎉
      The MA1000 would size between the HA725 and 925. The MA1225 sizes between the HA925 and 1125.
      I ride the MA1225 for the conditions you are mentioning. Very forgiving foil. Can speed it up or slow it down with different types of tail wings.

    Hello, how do you think the Armstrong MA1225 will work with a Naish Hover S26 85 liter board?
    Will the mast have to be located well in front of the rail?

  • @richardharvey6749
    @richardharvey6749 Před rokem +1

    Nice review as always, Matt! I am keeping an eye on the Armstrong line and thinking of a two wing quiver in the Spring (with a smaller board). Curious if the ma1000 would be a good prone foil for me at 155 lbs and if it would work in 10-20 kts winging. I've played only a little behind a boat on my Slingshot i99 (and Naish carbon ultra 95L) but want to try prone and I assume the prone could also be good behind a boat. The 1550 v2 sounds like it might be best for me in lighter winds of 6-15 kts. I'm only in 2' wind swell and not going fast but love carving and only occasionally out in waves. I still like to windsurf at 20 kts and up :)

      Thanks for all the info. For your size and the sports you are doing the HS1550v2 and the MA1000 will cover all wind, wake and surf conditions.

    Nice review Matt. I am riding mostly 1550v2 and then have the Ha925 for smoking days 80kgs. Have been waiting for something to fill he gap. Hedged on the 1125 and glad I did. Seems like the 1000 is the perfect middle ground. Seemed like you were getting fairly early take off with the 1000 ? Much different to 1225 for take off and stall speed?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem

      Thanks! The 1000 is a notch up in take off and stall speed but is really a lot easier to ride than most foils this size.

    Hi Matt
    Im a 100kg and currently use the HS 1250 in winds 20kts + winging in waves, no shims.
    It seems to breach on bigger waves and higher speeds down the line.
    You say the MA 1225 is like a HS 1400??
    I'm trying to figure out weather to get the MA 1225…? Or. 1000 ?

    Great review, thanks! I have a tough question for you 😁 I use the ha925 as my goto foil for wingfoiling flatwater and waves over 13 knots, im 192 ibs. Also got ha1325 and hs1550v2. Often I use the 1550 as my light wind session saver (8-12 knots) but find it a bit lacking in glide/effciency and dont like the wide span /slow roll/ locked in feel of the 1325. Do you think the MA1225 could replace my 1550 as my lightwind weapon?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem

      Two things on this one…… I do think that the 1225MA can replace the 1550 for light air. Might be better to try the 1225 with a bigger tail if you want to get more lift out of it but I do think the MA1225 is efficient enough to cover the light winding for you.
      Second is the bigger HA, especially the 1325 and 1525 light up with the new performance mast. I always had a hard time with them as they felt disconnected like my board was going one way and foil the other. With the performance mast and the big HA, you get a lot more control as well as much better turning.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem +1

      Yeah 1225 will work really well for you unless it is totally flat and gutless. Then the 1550 will have the low end you need.

    Great review ! I have the 1550v2 . Would the MA1000 be a good combo for winging or I would be better off with the HS 1050 or HS 1250? Thanks

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem +1

      I would do the MA1000 as the second foil to the HS1550v2. Will give you more range and better pump than the smaller HS you mentioned.

  • @raimar2000

    What about shims on the 935? Is it recommended? I ride tow-in head high waves with HA725 + HA195 and 60 fuse.
    Thanks in advance ( I was riding with 0.5 shim and felt a bit more stable on my old mast)

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem +1

      I think you are referring to tail shim. I would start with using the same shim set up you are riding now on the performance mast. The performance mast does have 1degree more rake which means that the nose of the board is slightly higher. This translates to a more positive front foot feel. I have been riding all tails with the shims I normally use on them for the performance mast and it feels great. In this edit I did no shim on the 232

    Is the ma1000 comparable to a hs1250 ? Im have ths hs1550v2 and looking for a foil to prone foil in most conditions , i have too much lift with it, should i consider the ma1000 or the cf1200v2 ? ( im using the hs1850 and the. Hs1550 v2 for winging too).

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem +2

      I thank that the MA1000 will be better for you than the CFV2 1200 for prone as the MA will pump better. Not as easy for take offs as the CFV2 but the MA will have more glide.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo Před rokem +2

      Very different shape than the HS1550v2. The MA1225 rides bigger than it’s size so would be like an HS1400 in size comparison. MA has more glide and lower stall speed than the HS.
