At 67 years old, I have enjoyed a few great singer/entertainers in my time. However, I have never, until Abi, become emotional during every song. Abi’s humbleness is what touches my old heart mostly. Not to mention her God given talents. May you always remain loving and humble. Old fan here….

She went from this mousy little girl with a big bow in her hair to looking and sounding like a total pro at the end. I've never seen such a transformation! I don't know if there's ever been a more deserving winner since KC. I'm so glad America got this one right.

@@Maggie_Bulldog Carrie was quite good-- but Abi just has broader range and appeal--perhaps because Abi is also natural musician in addition to being a singer.
She was my pick to win from the beginning. Watching the show week to week it was clear she was great, but watching it like this blew me away. It’s so crazy to see the growth she went through over the entire season. Not only is she a great singer she became a great performer/actress and really leaned in to the songs she was signing. I’m glad America agreed with me.
I love you Abi, dont ever ever give up on your true purpose in your lifetime. You have a voice from the Heaven's and are such an amazing talented beautiful young lady. You deserved all of this and then some. A Big Congratulations 👏🎉👏🎉 Never Give Up On Your Dreams❤❤❤❤❤

The voice she has is to be used to worship the God who created her. Singing songs that do not glorify God, is NOT her purpose in this lifetime.

I think this year had the most amout of talent ever, the platinum ticket winners and their performance together was amazing...Im.not sure how the next show is goi to be able to top this year, but the bar has been raised, will be good to find out if this year can be topped ❤
Ever since a couple years before the network change, it felt pretty obvious to me that The Voice consistently had superior talent to Idol; but this year, almost any of Idol's Top 20 could've made it to the finale of The Voice without breaking sweat

This girls incredible. She has to be the best performer I've ever seen on American Idol. Usually American Idol singers just kind of stand there and sing, and their performance is boring. Abi Carter has it all.

There was a moment when the 3 platinum ticket holders took the stage to kick off the first night of post-Hollywood live shows where Abi opened the show and she just seemed like she wasn't in a competition anymore. She was just separating herself from almost everyone else, like they were all amateurs and she was a concert pro. But then when Julia Gagnon joined that number for a few minutes I thought that Julia might end up winning the season. She was very good, but Abi was the best every week for the entire season. Any thought of a competition ended when she did Bring Me to Life. What a great performer. Hoping she becomes a big star.

Yes viewers, the Music God was smiling down on this angel on American Idol on Sunday night. I have been watching talent shows from all over the world for many years now, and finally the viewers have got it spot on.
From her audition until her final song on Sunday night, she has sung from the heart, even when suffering from bronchitis in the early heats. Her song choices, and her mentors had a lot to do with her success, but her biggest asset is her voice. This young woman will go far in the industry, and it has been an utter privilege to watch the girl next door become a Superstar because she followed her heart. Katy Perry said that "a dream is a wish your heart makes, and Abi, your wish is coming true".
Thankfully, that prediction was fulfilled, and for the first time in four years a woman has won, and in also in for the first time ever, a platinum card winner takes home the crown.
Abi, you are a worthy winner; you have been the benchmark all series. May you enjoy ongoing success for many years, and may your tours enable you to come to these shores, and allow you present your divine voice with my fellow Australians. You are a champion Abi Carter, and we are your devoted followers.

not to quibble, but I dont know how you can find fault in the My Black PArade performance. Original, flawless, emotional. Clearly impactful on the audience and the judges. Plus it kind of established Abi's ability to make a song her own as not a one off from her addition Fantastic performance,
Exactly, she did this 9 times...I honestly think the judges toned their praise down to not appear biased....and to help keep her head grounded.
I would question if Abi was truly who they say and wasn't some 27 year old full-time performer they found, but her family looks so unmistakably like her I can't even go that route
