My First Time Pole Vaulting ft. Olympian Menno Vloon

- The summer Olympics are coming to Paris! One of the oldest sports in the Olympics is pole vaulting. The world record holder (6.24 meters / 20.5 ft) easily jumps over the average giraffe (5.5 meters / 18 ft). Today, we are meeting with a Dutch Olympian that is going to the Olympics again in Paris: Menno Vloon. He will help me set a personal best. I want to jump at least my own height of 2 meters, but will I come close to a giraffe? Let’s take it to the test. Enjoy.

@CuriousMick Yes, I do. I currently am vaulting 3 meters (10ft). Been vaulting for almost a year now.

Thanks Noah! It was definitely really cool to try pole vaulting. I found it incredibly difficult, but I can also imagine how you can progress quickly in the beginning. When did you start pole vaulting?
@@CuriousMick I started pole vaulting the spring season of 2021 as a freshman. Now I have pole vaulted 4 sports seasons since then and now I'm a junior. I have jumped 15'7" about 4.75m.

@@CuriousMick 3.50. en 8 jaar training gegeven. Ook Menno nog wel eens gecoacht als zijn eigen coach niet aanwezig was. Leuk filmpje!
Wat gaaf! Bij mij valt er ook nog genoeg te coachen haha.
