We all need to be more appreciative of the work done to maintain our footpaths. Especially since a lot of the work is done by volunteers. Hiking in other parts of the world makes you realise how lucky we are in the UK.
Totally agree, as you say it's not until you venture beyond the UK you really appreciate the extensiveness of our footpaths and the effort into maintaining these paths and ensuring we maintain the rights of way, which is mainly done by volunteers. You've got me thinking how I can do my bit to raise awareness. Thanks for watching and especially commenting.
Hello - my wife and I just completed the full ODP a couple of weeks ago (south to north) and wanted to give you a big thank you for posting your videos of the trail. They gave us a great preview for what the ODP is like. It was a wonderful walk for us -- I think we will watch that ODP series again since it will remind of us our great walk in 2023. Thanks again!

What a pleasure. I hiked the first 5 days of the Offa's Dyke path late last summer and loved it. Am itching to go back and walk the whole length of it. Will be watching with interest!
I'm starting it on Thursday.... It'll take me a lot more than 12 days and I can't do it in one go due to work commitments. Thanks for the video. G🏴

Bit of a tough question as a lot depends on your average walking speed, however these are the four days I have picked out for you. Monmouth to Pandy - 16.8 mi Pandy to Hay-on-Wye - 17.5 mi Hay to Kington - 14.8 mi Kington to Knighton - 13.5 mi If you watch parts 2 and 3 in my series of videos you will get some idea of the different types of terrain you will be facing. This was mid March. Have just completed a trail review which I will be publishing on the 3rd Jan 2023 at 1600. In the review I do discuss what I believe from my research and experience to be the best time of the year to complete the trail. Cheers
@@AmblingTrails I walked Chepstow - Hay end of April 19 (quit due to blisters) went back in July did Hay to Knighton. I’m planning to go back early June start from Chepstow again not camping though. Thanks, I’ll watch your video. I think end of May is a good time or September
