Bailey was so cute drinking the water! 🐕
Bailey is the best dog, just like all the doggos.
Its a retriever thing. 🐕
she makes an excellent assistant :)
I laughed and laughed
I had a neighbor whose border collies roamed the neighborhood and would "attack" my Rain Bird oscillating sprinklers by nipping at the water stream. It was entertaining.
Your presentation in your videos has gotten very smooth
Bailey sure worked hard this video, she deserves a treat. Great video, I tell everyone about your videos.
The water was her treat
My uncle bought these types of hoses when they were new and he went through 6 of them in a year before he gave up. They all ruptured eventually. The inside is a latex tubing and that is why they expand but latex tubing was never designed to hold pressure and it is easily damaged by heat or UV rays from the sun. I'll stick with an old fashioned hose that I can leave outside in the sin and only replace every 10-15 years (or when someone drives over the end and smashes it). Love your reviews.
I’m a GC and keep 2 of these hoses in my truck at all times... they are GREAT for what they are good for, a simple easy storable hose and thats it. They take up almost no room compared to another hose of it’s size however the complaints are not really what this product is intended for but they are valid complaints. They do not have a ton of pressure compared to a regular hose (a pressure washer you can forget about it). If not stored properly they begin to dry-rot and can not endure a lot of dragging on the ground, it’s rather fragile to friction. All of that aside for a hose you put away or need in a pinch that you can tuck away and forget about than they are amazing and get the job done.
Good review man, love your channel and how genuine you are with your reactions and comments. You can tell you are reviewing these for the first time with us, not for us. Separates you from the rest. Can’t wait for another one 👍🏻
Great view on what it is good for! Do you prefer another hose? I love my Home Depot black rubber hose. 8 years strong and still fine. I never detach it from the bib; summer or winter.
Dead Parroting I use The pocket hose with the brass ends, they don’t wear as easy and I got them at Home Depot as well. Had them for about 5 years now
I think you nailed the pros and cons of the hose.
Robert Heinkel Thanks 😁 just know from years of use. I really do like having them on hand hopefully they can make them a little more durable in the future.
You are now truly a master of hose haha! Great video as always.
I came for the review. I stayed for Bailey. 😍🐕
I came for the review. I left because of Baily
Thanks for helping me NOT waste money on one of these things. I am getting the metal hose, you comments about it were appreciated. it takes talent (and a great dog) to make a review about hoses entertaining.
Bailey approves of all of them! 💧🐶🐕
I like how the pocket hose model names sound like condom names.
And "pocket hose" sounds like something you should put a condom on.
Yes, but which would make you angrier if it burst?
Only to you TMI
I love this channel! Even though I’m 14 and won’t buy anything, I still love the reviews!
A video full of Bailey!! ❤️ Great review, as always, James, but even better with the inclusion of Bailey!! 😍
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned user error and not following instructions. People tend to not do that all the time.
Bailey was definelty the star of this video.
Another great review just in time for summer! I love that you included Bailey. She's such a cutie.
I bought the Pocket hose (original version, I guess) at the hardware last Spring when we were power washing the deck. We left it on and connected to the power washer even while taking breaks. We turned off the water when we were done for the day and drained it; no blow outs or leakage. To be honest, it probably was in the shade most of the time as our deck faces north and has a partial roof.
I really like how light it is and started using it to water the flowers/plants in the front yard after we finished with the deck. I did drain the water after each use, but hung it on the hose reel on the west side of the house that gets lots of sun. It was still A-OK as of Oct when we put it away. Still chilly in Ohio, so we are a month or two away from seeing how it did over the winter.
I got the 25' hose for $19.99, and I'm really impressed with how light it is to carry. I struggled so much with the old hose that most of the time I opted to use a watering can as it was easier than dragging the hose around and then rolling it back up.
It did come with a cheap plastic nozzle that looked like the one with the Pocket hose silver bullet, but I always buy a better version like the nozzle that came with the Flexi-hose in plastic. I don't like the metal ones, they seem to anodize? after a while and get more difficult to use. Maybe because we have hard water? Don't know. The plastic ones don't seem to do that. Nozzles do well to last us more than 2 years.
Really enjoy seeing your kind interaction with Bailey. She ought to feature more often for longer. ☺️👍
I just love when Bailey steels the show! Nice review, I've tried a few they are OK for light duty stuff, but not everyday. Besides who wants to have to bring a hose in after every use? I want to leave mine out, hooked up and ready to go when I need it! Thanks for sharing!
I'm with you there, bud. I have left my Home Depot black rubber hose hooked up, summer and winter, for 8 years in a high desert climate. (see my other comment for details) Do yourself a favor and buy that Home Depot beauty. Well, they were beauties when I bought mine. No guarantee that they still make them that way.
Pocket Hose sounds like a good name for a phone dating app.
The Pocket Hose is made by the same people who brought you the Pocket Pussy.
Hey, it's great to see you compare these (& other) products.
My wife bought a 'retractable' hose, but it soon broke & we were still using the regular hoses.
Thanks for all you do.
Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
Bailey seemed to be having a blast as you tested the hoses! It was super cute to watch!
I have a pocket hose I use for washing my car. I don't remember which model it is. I have had it for a couple years and it still works great! I follow the instructions on it and store it inside when I am not using it. It is very light and flexible, even when full of water.
Glad you used the same nozzle for all of them at the end. For a second I was thinking it might be that that is the game changer. Awesome as always good sir 🤙👍
a 17 minute video on reviewing a hose(s)... This is the content I subbed for.
Great I literally told my self a few days ago I need to get one and then your video comes up, that's great!
Thanks for the review! This convinced me to get the Hercules hose haha and it's made gardening so much easier.
Okay first, Bailey made my day! Seriously the cutest thing I've seen all week, and I seriously needed it! Second, I read hose as horse 3 times, and became more confused as I clicked on the video, and then realized it said hose. Not going to lie though, I really wanted to see 3 retractable, horses.
I just found your channel about a month ago, it is very informative and enjoyable. Thank you. and please continue.
I've been watching these for a few years now and finally broke down and bought the Pocket Hose Silver Bullet today at Wal-Mart. I'm hopeful it will do everything we need it to since it will be used with our RV trips some of the time.
Great Reviews Bailey chose the TVI for sure lol very enjoyable channel.
Nice thorough video James, love Bailey nomming on that water. Keep up the great content
Hey James, Great job on the video. I have been considering getting one of these. I would most likely go with one of the metal hoses. Your reviews were extremely helpful in helping make the decision. I would have probably gotten a retractable and ended up returning it. Thanks . Have a wonderful day. Be safe
Always a thorough review no matter what it is! Thank you for saving me $$$!
Thanks for your detailed comparison (and even cute dog proved^^)! :) Last year I also bought a flexible (expanding) garden hose and I'm still happy with it ... no annoying water cans anymore!
U give the best reviews especially when you have Bailey to assist. LOVE that puppy!
lol I liked this one! Perfect timing on the video since I’m starting to garden! I love the thumbnail aswell! Keep up these freaking great reviews ⭐️
What am I watching in the middle of the night , a man playing with his hose!!
Great intense info with a great light up- Ms Baily! Seeing you are a respectful and kind animal lover made the video that much better. Going to search the TVI hose now.
Great video..
I bought 4 of the New Silver Bullets at Walmart at the end of the season last year. Gave two to family memebers.
And put a 100ft out back and 75 ft out front.
The back hose blew apart in August and the front just blew apart last weekend. I didn't
stored them after each use.
That defeats the purpose of an OUTDOOR HOSE.
Silver Bullets didn't hold up.
Now looking at the top 7.
Flexi Hose on the list I was looking at was number 5.
Gard Guard was number one.
Will take a look at that one.
Thanks for the video
Thanks, very much. Your reviews saved me time and money. Going for the Silver Bullet!
I bought one of those hoses about 5 years ago, I loved it. I would remove the water pressure but keep it attached to the outside faucet and hang it on the holder. It was on the north end of the house so it never was stored in the sun. I moved after using it a couple years and never had any use for it so I gave it away but I would by another one if I needed another hose. 👍
Which one did you own Donna?
We have a version of a pocket hose. And we love it. It still works. Also idk if it's the water spigot, or the hose, but the one we have drains itself if you leave it attached. I got distracted on a task and was gonna drain it after a while and it automatically drained itself. But I love the light weight since we don't have a hose hanger and I have back problems. So this allowed me to still water my newly planted tree, but not worry about lugging a heavy hose around.
so glad to have found your channel....I want to know about YOUR hose, you said "more about it later" you've had them for 2 years. I am looking through your channel to find info about it.....
I've been using one for the last 5 years or so. I use it, empty it when done, and leave it under the cover of my back porch. So far, so good.
I live in Texas and keep my expandable hose outside all the time. It's not in direct wind or sun. The normal hoses have cracked and busted but the expandable hoses have kept going. Love it.
I always swear by these freakin reviews. In a hurry, so 4mins & 30 seconds was enough to convince me I need a traditional one !
Bailey is awesome!! I think a homeowner would be a fool to buy one of these. But for an apartment dweller like myself with a tiny little garden off my porch they would be great. Thanks for the review
Bailey is so cute, what a fun dog .😂😂😂 I really like ur channel. Very informative.
Yes!!! Spot on!! Use them, drain them, bring them inside!! Exactly. I do have one. One... It is a 25ft. I have had mine for years without issue. I wouldn't recommend this type of hose for a daily use hose... more so due to the inconveniences of having to pull it in and out. It isn't for everyone. I don't mind it, but it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Thank you for doing this review. I have been considering getting another one (longer). Bailey may have aided in my decision. 🤔😂😊
Your dog is amazing!
I have 2 swan hoses (75' each) that have been used and left outside for over 25 years! I've changed the brass end connectors on one, but never had a leak or blowout!
I'd like more information about the metal hose you have been using.
I BOUGHT TWO METAL HOSES. wORKED FINE TILL THEY BLEW OUT IN ONE SEASON. i DIDN;T USE THEM A LOT EITHER
the asot hose that I tried out a while back actually lasted over a year while constantly under pressure. Actually was fairly impressed. i mainly liked it because it was very easy to store and not take up too much space.
I had one explode in my back yard, my wife left it on. When we went to bed, we heard a weird noise. I went to investigate and it split. My water bill went up for the month. That adds to the hose expense. Where did you get the metal hose ? All the other hoses combined wouldn't last as long at that one. Great review, great assistant .
Hahaha Bailey is too cute! I have to agree the metal hose is the way to go. I have a few and they have lasted through about two years in the Florida sun - love them.
"No kinkage"!?! LOL well you're no fun at all are you!?
I just bought the Flexi Hose because of the lifetime replacement warranty. Just one problem. NOWHERE is the name of the company that made or sold the hose shown.
bailey is literally the reason i watch your videos. like i don’t plan on buying any of this stuff and it’s p entertaining, but bailey is just too darn cute
YES!! I LOVE THESE COMPARASSIONS!!
Time to update this review! New claims, new promises. Thank you and Bailey for the reviews!
Excellent Video, thank you..loved baily!
Earlier today while playing a game on my phone, an ad popped up for some item you put in the wash to clean pet hair off your clothes. There was what appeared to be a clip from one of your videos of you and Bailey in the ad. Since I couldn't find where you had reviewed the item, I figured this might be an unauthorized use.
High quality hoses can also have a lot more flow/volume feed
James, thanks for taking the time to do the hose review, but i'll keep my
100 ft rubber hose. i have neighbors that had pocket hoses, now they
are in the landfill. the hoses, not the neighbors. the dog was well
worth the watch. thanks.
I have to be honest. I enjoyed watching the dog. We had a Golden Retriever for 14 years. They're the sweetest dogs! Shed a lot, but so sweet and lovable. Miss her...thanks! So, why are you so interested in hoses when you have no lawn or shrubs, flowers? LOL! Thought that was funny
Pimping with those hose! 😉 Good review!
Man, I just love your intros. It hooks me up I dunno why
Do a review on several smartphone screen magnifier's!! They seem right up your alley!
Thanks for another great review, James. Bailey is adorable.
I have had my black rubber hose for 8 years. I have never brought it inside. It stays attached to my hose bib on the southwest side of my house which may contribute to it's longevity as this side does enjoy the shade in the morning and afternoon due to my neighbors trees. I live in Albuquerque, so the temperature range is extreme. I think the lowest I remember was 20 degrees Fahrenheit and the high was about 105 degrees. I was also concerned about the color, which is black, when I bought this. With the heat and the altitude (1 mile high), I thought the UV factor would kill this hose in a few years, however, it is still the trooper after 8 years of neglect and use. BTW, I bought this bad boy at Home Depot. I trusted their "life expectancy rating" and I think they underestimated that!
I have the either the pocket hose or flex hose can't remember but I've had it 5 years now and I do like you when finished drain it and put it up somewhere in the dark, mine does have the cheap plastic fittings, they don't leak and haven't cracked so far but I'll see if it makes through another summer.
I have no experience with these 3 brands and models. but every expandable/flexible hose I've had always ends up leaking after a year or two. This isn't a problem on a normal garden hose.
I've had the same RV water hose outside on a spool for at least 10 years. My neighbor has cheap garden hoses that are also at least 10 years old.
I love bailey, so cool. One very big issue, is rubbing on concrete frays the hose quickly over a short period of time.
I had one of the metal horse and even put it in a cover container and after a year or two. The metal horse you shown got a hole it. I still love those even the hole. I love the fact that the metal horse didn't get hot in my Texas heat.
I know this is old, so sort of a bump, but I gave up on pocket hoses about four years ago... but have one in the RV as sort of an emergency as it doesn't take up much room. But, I noticed you have the steel hose there on the ground as you fill up the pocket hose.
That's where I ended up and now going on like four years, that's all I use... I do have a couple of the old heavy duty lifetime warranty rubber hoses Craftsman. I use them to extend my reach out into the yard, side of mountain, live in MT. After a year, you can't even see them. I'm going on 8 years now for one of them that goes out about a hundred feet from the house. But for general use around the house, the metal hoses are great, cheap ones, expensive ones, don't let em freeze and enjoy...
Well, your review convinced me to go buy a metal hose, lol! I am on my fourth hose, thanks to one destructive puppy!
I've got the fifty foot one they sell at Walmart and have left it outside for several years now, mostly in indirect/partial sunlight and I haven't had any issues yet.
Just yesterday I noticed that my dad owns a Pocket Hose Brass Bullet. My mom asked him to wash off the front steps of their house and he needed help with the power washing. He hooked the Pocket Hose to a small handheld, battery operated power washer. The hose did a pretty good job of expanding and having the water enter into the power washer. There was at least one or two times that the hose detached from the power washer and got my dad and me wet. When we were done washing the front steps we disassembled the power washer from the Pocket Hose. That was when the Pocket Hose broke! The long brass part that is attached to the hose itself broke away from the nut like screw that attaches to the power washer. It was stuck in there pretty good and took us a few minutes to get the whole thing detached. My dad didn't seem too phased about the whole thing and just asked me to fold it up and put it away. I wonder if he will ever try to use it again. Not sure it would work anymore though, but hey what can you expect for $19.99. It did the job we needed it for before it broke so I'm not complaining about that. I haven't use it on it's own. I would be interested to see how it works without attaching it to another device.
James, I really REALLY love your reviews (as well as Freakin Brandon 😉). One observation, when you show the product on the black table with a dark background and, in this case a black product, (1:20, 6:00, 9:00) it's all too dark to see anything. I'd suggest a more contrasting environment.
Please keep up the great reviews!
I came for the review. I stayed fur the Bailey!😂
Hahahah Baily chasing the water that's funny.
I have the pocket hose brass bullet, top brass whatever it is and so far so good. It lasted me all last summer with no leaks. I drain it out after using it but where I store it, it gets sun but not all day and it has held up. My walmart has the newest version of these. I like the little nozzle that comes with it.
I had the first version of the pocket hose with plastic fittings and it lasted a week then it leaked. I fixed it then it popped in a different spot. I joined up the two parts and it popped in another spot so I threw it away and kept the fittings. I ended up making my own hose out of the fittings and some clear plastic tubing.
i had 3 of them and 1 did pop 2 worked good for a year then popped and the 3rd i still use
I really enjoy your work.
Pocket hose. Nightmare. My experience. I buy a new one every year and return the old one.
Got the TBI based on your review. Great choice!
Great job again! :) tyfs your hurcules hose has pretty low numbers on Amazon though? About 4 gazillion other choices though.. lol. Thank you for all your hard work.
I have recently seen (on TV) the "Micro Visor Hood". Maybe you could review it?? Love your channel!!!!!
Inside diameter is too small to get a good flow. I only buy ¾“ ID hoses so I can get my watering done fast. Downside, they are usually rubber, so heavy and they kink.
I have 2 of the 100ft silver bullets. I leave them in the hose winder and so far so good. Tho only about a month in..
The guy over the fence: wth man, w t h
Oh man seeing the hoses expand and wriggle around reminds me of those worms you find inside bugs that popped out if you out em in water.
My mother uses one it's easier for her to use around the yard, because she insists on having a yard full of flowers at 73. She get's about a summer out of one and they will either rip the outer cover and get a "blister", or they will random pop or get a pin hole leak.
If you ever want to add another to the array, apparently there is an ASOTV product at Home Depot called the Xhose Pro.
Metal hoses all the way. Best investment I've ever made. Hope to see some reviews of them if there are any noteworthy differences!
Yassss James back at it! Thanks man!!!!
Now this dude's got hose! 😉
I got one several years ago for watching a sales pitch. Lasted a few years before wearing out. I finally threw it away when it acted like a soaker hose and no longer could keep good pressure to the end.
We used a retractable hose at a gas station where I worked for some daily light duty tasks (mainly draining a giant beer cooler) and it just gradually stopped contracting. If it wasn't for that it probably would have been a good hose.
Always wondered what Rob Halford's cousin would look like doing reviews on youtube. Now I know. ;)
I bought 2 pocket hoses. Both exploded under pressure.
Bailey always seems to steal the show in some way -- Love it!
Great comparison! Have you done a review on blackout curtains or are you planning to do one in the future?
