Visited a friends farm and had a chance to run around with his ram. Just when you think it's over, he gets too close for comfort. Wait for it!
This ram was very friendly and actually seemed to like having its head scratched. You can see around 1:00 mark, it lets me pet it but then starts hitting me in the leg. lol.

Ram was very clever. He came up to the man rubbed himself up to make himself adorable and tried hitting him when he was petting him.

Sticks also work against tigers if you are riding an Indian elephant.

When i was little i spend a few years living in a small rural town in Vic Australia. Right next to our house there was a small paddock where the neighbor kept a few cows and sheep including a ram. I was introduced to the ram when it was literally a baby and we pretty much grew up together and became best mates. Everyday i would jump the fence separating our yard from the paddock and go and play with my mate and give him lollies and licorice. One day (i was 7 at the time) i jumped the fence as usual when i notice a new resident happily grazing in the middle of the paddock, it was a big brown mule. My curiosity led me to approach the mule for a closer look. I’m not exactly sure why it happened but when i got closer the mule went feral and attacked me. He initially grabbed me in his mouth by the neck and tossed me in the air, he then bit down hard on my shoulder pinning me down on the ground and started stomping me with his front legs. I remember being in fetal position trying to protect myself, feeling all the biting and stomping, hearing the angry sounds the mule was making and i’m in total disbelief, it was like being in a dream. Then suddenly i hear a loud cracking noise, the mule instantly stops hurting me and then the ground shook followed by a thump. I heard my mother’s screams as she was running towards me and everything went black. I woke up in bed, all patched up and in pain.

I'll never understand how rams can be so mean and so friendly at the same damn time.

Imagine the first time a human being realized he could control a wild beast with a tool as simple as a stick. What an incredible discovery that would be.

Just draw a goal line. Rams can't cross it. At least not the ones they keep in Los Angeles.

What cracked me up is how he definitely seems to enjoy the affection, but.. he also still wants to fight.

That's what the shepherd's crook is for. It's a big curved staff to hook and redirect sheep, but also to keep the ram's head up. That prevents their "ramming" instinct from kicking in. It's one thing I learned from homestead sheep raising books.
