What a cool idea! I've used paints (and gesso) to change paper I didn't like, so now I'm going to have to try these pencils out on some pastel fabric that's not quite the shade I like.

yes, they are typical watercolor pencils in that regard, except on paper they are more vibrant and can be layered -- let first layer dry well. And I would use watercolor paper or mixed media paper.
