    I've used these minimally so far on my quilts. I have been pleased. Thanks for demo.

    I made a personalised shopping bag for my grandson and his girlfriend who were heading off to travel in their caravan. I drew a picture of a cute car and caravan and added a title. I ironed the image to set it more permanently. I loved how it turned out.

    If you use aloe Vera gel either alone or with a little water mixed in it will keep the colour where you want it to be so it won’t bleed out .

    Another great video, thanks. Top tip: Helen Godden Quilts uses unwashed calico fabric (US may call it muslin? 🤨). The paint (watercolour) will not bleed on unwashed calico provided abutting colours are dry. :) Love watercolour.

    We quilted a design (in my case a rose) then dry colored the design, finally going over the inktense color with aloe vera gel which slowed down the drying time and allowed colors to blend.

      Thanks for letting me know about this. I haven't yet tried adding aloe vera gel but want to do this as well.

    What about them running when washed Kim?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Před 8 měsíci

      I don't think these would run but I haven't yet tried that. I would use these for wall projects that won't be washed just to be on the safe side.

      If you heat set them with an iron (no steam) when you are done coloring (and the color is dry), they won't bleed. I also would use them for projects that don't need to be washed. @@Chatterboxquilts

    Are Inktense pencils color-fast when you wash them?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  Před 9 měsíci

      Yes, they are as they have ink in them so it gets right into the fabric.
