- Shirley arrives at her wedding rehearsal late but with some good news.
From Season 3 Episode 12 'Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts'
Andre re-proposes to Shirley. Britta and Annie quickly begin making arrangements for the wedding. Jeff must write a speech, and Troy and Abed attempt to become "normal" for the wedding. Pierce and Shirley try to get a sandwich shop installed in the cafeteria.

Even "Normal" Abed can't avoid inappropriate social interactions.
If anything, "normal" Abed is even more inappropriate.
Normal =/= cool or chill. Something a lot of us with Abed's neurotype has had to learn the hard way.

I thought there were other looks of realizations, like she was seducing us to get what she wants! Or I'm mandeling it because of the dvd commentary.

Theres a lot of missed opprotunities with Shirley's character that i really with the writers did more with, instead of leaving the bread crumbs of a really interesting character sprinkled throughout her time on the show.
She had really interesting dynamics with different parts of the original 7. She was able to be an adult friend who could be down to earth with jeff, without neing as wacky as britta and peirce were, her role as a motherly figure helped reign in troy/annie/abed, her buisness relationship with peirce helped them both grow as entrepreneurs, and her and brittas ideals clashed but helped eachother improve their respective world views.
I think one of the biggest missed opportunities with her was the fact that she clearly had the same eye for films like jeff and abed (her fair criticisms of abeds movie, knowing hellraiser, etc.) that ultimately wemt know where. She really could have been the soul of the study group while still having a strong solo perspnaloty, instead of just being a punchline for catholicism.
She called Brett Ratner the new Spielberg, and Abed didn't like that one bit, but they might've been able to jell in other ways. Agree with everything else, though.
Definitely agree, and that's one of the areas where I give some credit to Season 4 - the writers of that Season actually gave Shirley more identity and ways to explore her character.
This is one fancy rehearsal.
Britta really does know how to plan a wedding. That was one hell of a set-up.
Did the rest of the gang know about her voice? Is that what happened with Chang? 🧐🤔🤔🤔
That voice could be one of the deepest cuts for a running gag in this show
