a hemisphere is pasted on a cone along their planer faces the radius of base of hemisphere is 25cm and that of cone is 20cm and the height of cone is 15cm. also complete base of cone lies inside planer base of hemisphere. find the total surface area of the structure formed
Hi I have spent most of the day on surface area and I'm baffled with this question. the radius of a sphere is 4cm the radius of the Base of a cone is 6cm. surface area of a sphere =curved surface area of the cone . work out the slant height of the cone . please can you help?
short of words sir, I'm even convinced that I can skip all my maths lessons and still get an A+ with your video's. God bless you sir.
Wait dont you need to subtract the circles?
Needed to brush up on this, thank you for the clear explanation
Glad to help and all very best S :-)
thank you so much, you have made a difference
Now whenever I eat and ice cream cone, I will know just how much I am really eating!
+TeamBeanGamersPlayz - Lol, glad to help and all best S :-)

Isn’t the surface area of a cone equal pie r squared plus pie r slant height
Hi - yes, that’s correct … but in this case we don’t need the area of the circle pi r squared, as it’s ‘attached’ to the hemisphere. All best S
Thank you!
Very welcome glad to help - all very best S :-)
In composite shapes we don't consider the circle that is composed
Hi I have spent most of the day on surface area and I'm baffled with this question.
the radius of a sphere is 4cm
the radius of the Base of a cone is 6cm.
surface area of a sphere =curved surface area of the cone .
work out the slant height of the cone . please can you help?
@Simon Deacon where did you get the 4 from?
Daisy Camara - It’s the formula for the area of a sphere. Best S
Plz how did he get 72
no one focuses on the examples he does do they?
Hi - depends how close you are to the exams. It's better to do lots of examples early, ... rather than past papers too late :-)
