- In this video, I tried to play chess in one of the world's quietest rooms - an anechoic chamber. There are a lot of people on the internet claiming that you go crazy by sitting in in one of these rooms, as you can start hearing sounds you’ve never heard before.

*Playing a game of chess in a quiet room sounds like every players dream instead of a nightmare*
Agree. For that it would be ideal!
Carlsen be like:
I have tinnitus silence is a nightmare
Anechoic chambers are not an altogether pleasant experience. It’s hard to understand just how quite it is and the consequences of that. It is so quite that you can hear your own heart beating, because there is no background noise to drown it out, the whoosh of your own breath, your bones creaking whith every little movement, tinnitus-like hum, but so much louder without any other sounds to distract you.
Yes! That's true!
1:23 Anna has now made history as the first person to ever lose a game of chess in an anechoic chamber 😂
This scenario would be the Botesz sisters worst nightmare 😂
The younger one is hyperactive...I think she would not like it lol. She likes to be in a noisy environment!
They would just manage to overwhelm that place x)
@@aspiknf There are people that love solince and there are people that need to fill silence.
I strongly suspect Andrea is probably a fill silence type.
Exactly 🤯
How loud can Alex yell ANDREA when she keeps shifting around in those rooms?
I like these new creative videos of Anna's. Push on, explore and experiment! And the game wasn't bad either!
Almost thought you were Heisenberg 💀

16, so old, time to retire
I've been in an anechoic chamber. The weirdness comes from the fact that usually you hear your own voice both through your ears and through your skull (bone conduction), but in an aneochoic chamber the first effect is suppressed, no sound comes back to your ear, so your own voice sounds "muted" to you, which is really disturbing.
Wow that's very interesting. Sounds like an experience, pun intended 😅
So like the reverse of hearing a recording of yourself?
@@mtaur4113 You can experience it by wearing both ear plugs and ear protection. That way you should be able to have a 0db background sound. Difference in that from an anechoic chamber is that you can't hear anything except your voice through your skull
I hate speaking with my noise cancelling headphones on for that exact reason, it's just slightly less worse than hearing your own voice feedback with a fraction of second delay
Had occasion to do work in an anechoic chamber a few years back, a colleague would start getting anxiety attacks within a few minutes of being inside, where I personally would be happy to spend hours inside.
Admitted my first time was strange for 10-15 minutes until my brain calibrated, but after that I found it serene.
Now they're called Annachoic chambers 😹
😑
Bad-um-tsss!!! 🥁
MORE LIKE ADRIANSÖDERSTROMCHOIC AM I RIGHT xDDDD
huh huh?😂
lmao, well played
I have worked in an electrically quiet room, used in my case to test aerials for satellites. The room is electrically quiet because it is covered in prisms made of carbon loaded foam. The secondary effect is that the room is acoustically quiet as well. I found the room more creepy when I was there alone, after a time you could hear your own heartbeat.
In a fully anaechoic chamber, you can hear the blood rush around in your veins next to your ear. It's neat.
Looking at his eyes, I think Arne has spent some time in that room
Bro looks like he's seen a ghost, haha.
💀💀💀
hhahahhahaha
Your voice over during the game was amazing, I felt myself in a silent room. Can't wait to see the other videos from your roadtrip! 😊
I really liked this video, 1st because of the environment and 2nd because it was easy to understand the logic of the moves each one of you guys played! Excellent video!
Great video! I love how your videos are and not just playing chess only but more about the experiences.
3:47 When you've eaten too many tacos 3 hours ago but you're in the middle of an interview

This is definitely one of the most unique chess content videos I've seen so far... I would love to be in one of those quiet rooms by myself for at least a few minutes to see what it's like, but I feel like if I was in there with someone else I would be really self-conscious about how they might hear me swallowing or my stomach growling or something like that. I don't know if I could focus on a chess game in there!
yeah imagine letting out a nervous fart when they check you :(
I worked at Verizon corporate,we had one of those rooms. And it was padded. We used it when we were stressed, upset,or feeling overwhelmed. I loved it!!!
Anna! Great video! Aside from the usual great edits, this was an original idea and the video kept me interested and engaged the whole time. BUT, more than anything I thought your verbal explanations of the moves and the course of the game were simply fantastic and universal for so many levels of players. GREAT Job!
I'm impressed by the confidence level in your stomach. If I get too stressed out, my stomach might get tied in knots and start making noises through the whole game
Anna keeps coming up with weird places to play chess, and random Finnish guys keep accepting her challenge
The guy she played in this video was swedish though
Oh I would, wouldnt you? Gotta practice openings, maybe she will play around Silesian post war bunkers someday.
I think he meant like the guy at luleå university or whatever had a very finnish surname
Finns are naughty boys!
Love your work Anna, great editing and story telling, proud of you!
Anna, you make chess so interesting. I absolutely love it. Your smile just brings another layer of enjoyment into the picture! Thank you for all the content you make!
This is an incredible video! Amazingly well done! Love the storytelling and format. And your editor deserves a raise!
Much love and congrats on such an awesome video!
The best of the video, is Anna explaining every move. Looking forward for more content like this.
Super cool video idea! Very original and creative. Thank you Anna
Amazing video idea and the commentary of the game (and the whole video) was so majestic!
this video is so cool. the edition is on point. nice work!
This playing chess in unusual places could really blow-up for Anna. Imagine seeing Anna play chess in a swimming pool underwater in scuba gear, near a volcano caldera such as Askja. on a Merry-go-round or Ferris wheel, on the Great Wall of China, top of the Eiffel tower just to name a few. The possibilities are endless.😆
Such a cool video!
Love the editing and concept :)
Awesome video! I loved your narration during play, so that we understood what you were thinking. I think the video would be even better if we were also hearing Adrian narrate what he was thinking, back and forth perspectives!
So she’s in a acoustically quiet chamber and yet you want more chatter?
Wow! What an interesting experiment. For contrast, you should try playing chess next to the stage at a heavy metal rock concert.
Notice this, Anna has taken us into a game thru all the techniques: curious facts, horrifying possibility, new unconventional background for playing, epic tone explanation and a PRO guest as well.. Dude this is what working hard means, it's more than chess content, all the support and love from here 👏
Very interesting. I learned something new today since I never heard of such a room, enjoyed watching the game too.
This is where boby fischer wanted to play
Anna this is so amazing and creative! Keep going with these incredible ideas.
I loved this video soo much >< the story telling, editing, and stupid jokes were so entertaining 🤣 Also the 2:58 move with pushing the pawn was so educational to me, I feel like my chess knowledge leveled up from 4 to 5 (out of 100 💀)
Love this concept video, this is Brilliant and look forward to more of this creative top notch content Anna
DANG!!! Next level chess content, Anna. Creative and fun, thanks for this!
Really cool to watch. Enjoyed your commentary
A+ for originality and creativity - thx Anna - alwyas a pleasure.
My biggest takeaway from this is that Luleå qualifies as a "small" city 😞
Honestly BRAVO Anna! The most creative and informative chess streamer BY FAR!
Excellent content Anna, interesting stuff!
Anna, you definitely have narrative talent, keep going
This was awesome! Exceptional quality & very interesting!
What an unique kind of chess content!
A certain level of background noise removes some amount of distraction for little noises.
I really like this vid. The way you narrate your mindset and what you think in general as your play chess is great for learners, and it probably keeps non-chess viewers' attention. Can you do more like this please?
These new innovative videos are quite amazing and I really think you've got a new angle on the game in order to get the streamer of the year award!
Wow! Im so impressed with the level of artistry that you are putting in to your new videos! You’re so inspiring and creative! You got me captivated ✨ and looking forward to your next creation!
“And that is when I realised it was the king that I was after”
Wise words Anna.
I’ve worked in the hearing aid manufacturing industry. I’d never spend more than a few minutes in those chambers! It makes me feel like I need to blow out my ear drums. HORRIBLE!
"I needed to get an advantage somehow, otherwise this match would be unfair" interesting statement
The editing and production quality in this video is top notch. Good video
Very interesting experiment. Thank you for share.
There should be a video of just the game in pure silence
I really enjoy your content it's very well put together and highly entertaining
I knew someone had to do it but I'm glad its you Anna , really trying to make chess more mainstream.
I really enjoy the storytelling. It makes it very enjoyable to watch even if you are a chess noob like me :) Great job! :)
Anna has become one of my favorite youtubers! Her videos always make me smile!
Good game Anna and great content as always :)
That was a really nice video with good background music. Sucks to lose a game, but you made a really nice content piece :)
Well done Anna. Good content.
I don’t think Anna realizes the impact she’s making on the chess world. Her videos are so well-done, with exciting thumbnails and titles that make you want to click, and because of that they get pushed by the algorithm and draw people into chess. She’s the sole reason I started playing and soon chess became my passion. I started in February and I’m now 850! Thanks Anna!
great idea you had with this video.
you should install sound absorbing panels in your own youtube recording room. Because you sound much more different in the quiet room.
That's epic! I'd love to try it for sure
Keep it up Anna. Loving it 😊
This was an excellent idea, to have a chess game in a chamber like this! On top of that interesting twist, your narration was very good, keeping me [the listener] engaged the entire time! I often zone out 3/4 through. I mean I love the game but it's hard to follow sometimes lol 😊 The part where you say: "...he pushed his rook to the second file, and asked my queen where she was going to go. My queen had no answers." - that was a spectacular moment in chess, and narration - you should get a golden pawn award for this 😎💖💖💖💖💖💖💖👍
This video and previous one is getting Creative! 🙂👍 Chess combined with personal type blog & adventure experiences. It does not have to be about 'Chess' only. Botez sister mostly focusing on their Twitch (many of us don't watch Twitch) and not much content at their CZcams channel (mostly shorts).
I think the tolerance to silence depends on personality type. I feel very calm during silent periods, even hearing my breathing, heart beat & stomach noises! Your chess opponent also seems to have that tolerance to silence, where it does not bother him.
Best episode ever! 🤩I love the narrative.
Such a cool video idea!
Make more videos like this😍😍it was exciting
Fun video. Thanks for posting.
As someone with tinnitus this room would be a nightmare T-T
Loving the idea for this video
Amazing job, Anna this is so cool
Great idea! Next time you’ll win…😅
Superb content!
Cool narration, good game either way so cool Anna 🌿 ggs
i love these unique chess videos
amazing video thank you
very insightful video, love the creativity though my main projection will not be in chess I do plan to keep interacting now and then with the game for fun one should think however the quiet room is symbolic to say that if someone found you cool enough they play chess with you in any setting such as this one. Definately something that will make you think that you're going crazy though i agree thanks for sharing this
anna, i like this kind of content. you going places and playing chess. keep it up
i love the dramatic map graphics for "ALL THE WAY" - actually just within my own country
I would totally love that. I use to meditate and your ear becomes more sensitive. Also I always have loved silence, and generally have been disturbed by sound. I don't like tv, the blender, the clothes washer or drier, etc.
Fantastic video Anna!
Anna, nice to see you are taking chess to extremes=). If you are ever in Växjö you have to play under the water tower "Eko templet". It is the opposite of the "silent room". Sound reverberates like no where else.
Love the commentary.
Anna: "It was the king that I was after."😂(6:37)
Anna. I love what you’re doing with the channel.
Wow, keep up the quality content Anna!😮
I’m ready for the Antarctica video! Maybe one in Death Valley as well
Great idea for a chess video and also captivating narration of the game, your thought process and how you perceived all of this.
Now play a game on an aircraft carrier next.
Who'll be the first person to play the Cow in an anechoic chamber? *That's* the question.
I like the chatty, laughing, and smiling Anna when she plays. Anna's personality makes her matches so much fun. Chess Princess.
* 4:09 I've heard echo in quiet car ,too ! That is very insane. *
Wow Anna is breaking some records good job
Now you have to find a Black room. It is painted with the blackest of all black and reflects no light. Even with a light bulb in the room it seems dark. A chess game in a Blackest of black rooms and a single light bulb overhead would be another challenge. Like the room with no sound, the room with no reflection is said to play games with your sanity.
Cool! Tho i wish she would've asked her opponent more about the experience
I love this
It would be great to try it several times to let the novelty wear off
When I watch your videos I feel like im getting alot of information about chess and so I ca nuse that information to get better at chess!
I work alot with EMC (electomagnetic compability) and spent some time in semi-anechoic chambers. Been in full anechoic chamber aswell. I'd love one at home for sleeping.
People are not used to silence anymore….
Such a shame…
WHEN ANNA SMILES WE SEE 70% OF HER SKULL
