    Cool. Just to mention. Always measure distance on the sides, latitude scale, and never the bottom or top. (Longitude)

    That's obviously a training chart you are using, as the coordinates you plotted are right in the middle of the Bay of Biscay in real life.

    hi which map are you plotting on, is it the mercator projection map or the gall Peters projection map or another kind of map? hope someone can answer that, thanks

    Dont get it-- why even bother with the 45 degrees N in the first place? I should just say 42.5 Degrees N from the jump .

      Hi, how are you, hope Im picking up on your comment properly with this response?
      Latitudes and longitudes are expressed and plotted, in degrees, minutes and seconds and I think you may confusing the degrees and minutes from the example given to get 42.5 degrees. The Latitude given was 45º25´.50N so plotting a position at 42º and any number of minutes would put you in the region of 180 NM out of position as each degree of latitude is equal to 60NM. Hope this helps ?
