Just got a '24 Q7 55 loaded Premium Plus and love it! Last suv was a MB ML55. Have owned 60+ vehicles, and time will tell, but so far ✔️. Gorgeous, available 3rd row for grandkids if necessary, and premium luxury/ride.
We went to our local Audi dealer in January of 2021 all prepared to buy a new Q8 but after test driving both the Q7 and Q8 , we came back to the dealership and immediately ordered the Q7 Prestige fully equipped (except the black nonsense which is just ugly). The Q7 drove better especially with the Prestige package and four wheel steering. Better ride, much better visibility and despite the fact we didn’t want or need a third row, the Q7 won us both over. I was shocked! Two and a half years later, we are still extremely pleased and impressed. The tech is a bit quirky sometimes and definitely more nanny warnings than is needed or wanted. And the extra cargo space in back is a welcome feature.
Just Trade in 2021 Q7 to 2023 Q8 Prestige - with only 4K miles on it with 10K discount - I like it so far - lets face it, no one uses 3rd seat from Q7 - I only used once in total of two years + Space from 3rd seats are just not right 🤣
Q8 looks better and its second row has more leg room than the Q7. Handling should be nearly identical if equally equipped as its is the same drive train and chassis. Cargo room in the Q7 is greater, but only if you are stacking the load to the top. For either, the “S” trim is ideal as the V8 results in a more spirited drive!
For me, a single man, Q8 (or SQ8) every time! I just wish I could get the fully loaded Prestige with the black optics and s-line packages with the thicker rubber 20" or even 21" wheels rather than the 22" wheels those top trim packages force you into. I live in rougher road mountainy ski country, and that thicker rubber would be useful. Still, what a beautiful vehicle. I almost bought one in late 2021, and did not, for this very reason. Still would like one. Come on, Audi. Let us choose the wheel size, whatever package we get, at least as options.
I got a GLS580 for its comfort but SQ8 never fails to be a head turner for me, I hope Q8 remains the same design next year so I can get one, I feel like this generation of Q8 is too perfect
Q8 only wins from rear in looks. But looks like Q7 feels more premium with those heated electric second row seats and some other things. Usualy in Audi's number represents car class. No way Q8 = A8. Q7 > Q8. Not to mention cargo space, 3 rows, longer car, bigger car.
We are a family of 5 with a 3yo in a car seat. I am debating between the Q7 Prestige and the Q8 Prestige. I love the look of the Q8 but also want something that is actually going to work for us.. For a family of 5, which one do you recommend? I kinda wanted the extra seats that the Q7 offers in the event that we have other ppl ride with us but I'm torn between the two cars. I looked at the X5 but did not feel that it was big enough. The leg rom is far tighter on that one than it is on the Q7 or Q8.. I'm not crazy about the way the Q7 looks at all but at the same time I want something that is practical and that is actually going to fit our needs..
Q7 is big and boxy imo and only needed if you have a large family. Q8 is a hot suv that everyone is drawn to on the road. it’s obvious when you look at the resale market of both of these.
The Q7 seats up to seven people, while the Q8 accommodates five. Both models offer the epitome of luxurious comfort.

I lean towards the q7 myself. But the pocket doesn’t allow it lol I’m broke haha
Will you drive your Q7 for the next 5 to 10 years? Do you suggest it to your friends? How is the 48v generator? Does it function stablelly?

My personal opinion, I would go Q7 honestly. Just more of a car for me if that makes sense. Practical and overall I see it being better down the line.
