Black Forest cake is my all time favorite cake that I can never get tired of. What would make it even better is almond liqueur or extract, even though it's not traditional to the recipe, I just love the combination of cherry and almond flavor together.
One of my favorite all time cakes. 😋 I had it for one of my birthdays when I was a teenager and have loved it since.

Kudos for using kirsch unapologetically throughout the recipe.
It seems a lot of people from the US are afraid to use alcohol when cooking/baking and I see a lot of recipe youtubers almost apologizing for using it. 0_0

I was just a bit confused by the melted butter you added to your cake batter. Because you're soaking it with simple syrup afterwards the extra moisture from the butter isn't really necessary...

Actually you would need Schwarzwealder kirschwasser. Plus you need sour cherry and with the sauce you make a pudding

Apparently you can substitute the cherry liquor for almond extract, or yes just the cherry juice works too

How to get ingredients list for this recipe
Hi! Do you have a list of ingredients? The video just says "some flour" or "some cocoa powder" and in the description there's no list either :(
I was looking for that too!! He is obviously a typical pastry chef, selfish! If you are not going to give the exact measurements, do not upload your videos ... nobody is interested in seeing what you do if we cannot recreate it!
You don't need to call him selfish, all other videos he uploaded there are recipes and if you can't find the recipe just leave a message for him in the comment section. He probably forgot to upload the recipe and you have no right to call him selfish.
